  1. carefully take it out of the frame. Look through it, make sure it has all the pages and parts. measure it, top to bottom and side to side and post the results. Please excuse all the acerbic posts, it is just that it is extremely unlikely you actually found a Superman 1 in the attic.
  2. too bad, is a lot of excellent sellers from Canada.
  3. Awwww look at the wittle guys coming out of the eye sockets. ( I really don't collect "cute" comics, so this will just have to do!)
  4. agreed. And while I am here I will cast my vote. This is my favorite Joker cover:
  5. I have a I agree. I am expecting negotiation on every book. It is rare that someone pays the full asking.
  6. I agree, I think Gal Gadot is a spectacular Wonder Woman. She nails the looks.
  7. Like this? Books with bags, no boards and peanuts everywhere! Small partially crushed little bits of packing peanuts stuck to every bag.
  8. It is possible the book actually visually and structurally looks like a 9.4 even 9.6 BUT has something about it that would reduce the grade. Example: a small water stain that you can't really see. More likely the book has several spine stresses and visually appears as an 8.0 copy and the dealer is over grading.
  9. It is indeed. Take the raw Hulk 181 me and Dave looked at. We ask the dealer if the book has the Marvel value Stamp and he said yes. Flip to the page and yes it has a MVS, but the wrong one. What someone had done is swap out the wrap from a Hulk 179 in place of the wrap from the Hulk 181. Knowledge helped in this. As I collect Marvel value Stamps I instantly knew it was the wrong stamp in the book. Later the same dealer tried to trade the tainted Hulk 181 to a friend of mine for his WWBN 32. The friend came to me and asked my opinion of the potential trade, and I asked who the dealer was. He told me, and then To the OP, mind sharing a scan of the book? That way those of us who are chiming in can see if the outside looks 9.4 9.6, and then the issue is an interior problem which many would miss.
  10. Sorry for your loss, and welcome to the boards. First, I am not sure what you are asking help about? Are you planning to sell them? Are you keeping them?
  11. I have a Ademco 21" x 25" press. It worked very well when I could use it, currently does not power up, not sure why. Pro: The size of it is a feature I like, can press larger books, multiple books. The wheel is another feature, can vary the amount of pressure easily. Con: Monstrously heavy **not sure why the picture is rotated. I can't seem to fix it either.
  12. 12 is a great cover! I love the bad guy alien that has a face on the front and back of his head. Here is mine:
  13. I would be absolutely thrilled to get a 9.6 from that book.
  14. While I have never done this, I know someone that has. They opened a comic store, and took on an investor to assist in the purchasing of inventory ( comic collections ) that will be sold at the store and through online channels. Seemed to work fine at first, but now that the investor is owed a significant amount of money the investor is constantly in the store and making strong suggestions as to what merchandise is to be displayed on the walls of the store. The investor has several of their own books on the wall to sell now, and the owner of the store is rather unhappy about feeling in the position to have to display those books simply because they owe money to the investor.
