  1. Is yours white pages to? Just kidding.
  2. Wow, awesome books. That is a wonderful copy of the black title Startling Terror Tales 11
  3. I like that cover more than #5 actually! Nice one Billy! Me as well, great book!
  4. I have all three of them and they're staying put.
  5. picked up a Hulk 180 from Darkowl, well packed, and arrived safely. Thanks
  6. Thought I would share the latest custom commission requested by the boards own gino2paulus2. He wanted All American issue 61, but with a few changes: changing Green Lantern for Batman and Robin, and adding Clayface in place of Solomon Grundy. The pencil image of the core: Then the inked page which measures 17" x 24" and finally the finished color piece! I hope you guys like it. The digital pic doesn't do the piece justice, it looks awesome inperson, and the colors leap off the page at you especially the red and yellows in the title.
  7. Yep, definitely was us. I think the copy I have is a keeper and I will leave it at home instead of bringing it to conventions and being tempted.
  8. This has happened to me 3 times now.. It's so frustrating. Don't these guys take the time to take them down or at least update their sites? It's such a waste of time and they usually don't tefund the fees involved in sending money via pp and then having to withdraw the money again. If it makes you feel any better I had the CSS 22 that Harley was selling in hand at last years Calgary Comic Expo and it was no better than a 4.0.
  9. .... 1500 + for either in 5.0 is normal...... and probably should be....comics don't get much cooler.......GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u I much prefer the no# 5. There is horrendously miswrapped 4 in the CC june auction. It will be interesting to see what it goes for. I just took a look at the 4 on CC and you're right, the miswrap is really bad! agreed, one of the worst miswraps I have seen
  10. Got a great looking Hulk 181 from evilmunkey. Packed extremely well for a raw and fast shipping. Recommended.
  11. I was comparing it to my 6.0 copy and it looked spot on... maybe even a little bit nicer... now if only I can buy it success...I was able to buy the book today Congrats! Will this be a keeper, at least for the time being? given that I probably paid way more than I could sell it for I would say "keeper" Grats Gator, CSS 22 is a great book and will always sell if you decide to not keep it. I just wonder how long this currently price bubble will last, or if it is permanent?
  12. Great books! That Unseen 14 is really nice, I had a nice copy that I got from Jim Payette. I sold it to Superworld Ted, I wish I still had it. Great books! I love that first Unseen.
  13. I picked up 7 of them myself, I plan to sketch on a couple for the upcoming show and I am hoping the stock is good for pencils. I dislike the coated stuff from the last few years ( smudges far to easily ).
  14. Another CGC 4.0 hits the 1K mark. This book is still hot. I still can't believe the jump in price that has occured on this book in the last year - year and a half. http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2Fauctions%2Fpreview%2Easp%3Fcode%3D2013apr%26session%3D2%26pg%3D3%23Item%5F968497&id=968497
  15. I did stuff like this in my university days. I miss sculpture greatly. My favorite piece is the one with the pipes connecting the large bodies. Awesome stuff, thank you for posting
  16. I love how a book goes from "never seen that before" to "I must have that" in a matter of moments. Great cover.
  17. I went to college for art. So I've taken a lot of fine art classes. My degree was in drawing before picking up the education degree. I also took various photography, design, craft, digital, etc. classes. Currently I teach art in a public school setting. I also offer private lessons for all ages out of my house and at a nearby museum. Perhaps checking those outlets might prove beneficial? Drawing is something that can be learned. I say grab a sketchbook and start drawing. Draw everything and anything. Observation and imagination. Like other's suggested, YouTube has some good resources... The book Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain as a lot of activities that I've found to be good for practice. (There is also a full copy of her video on YouTube floating around). +1. I also took drawing in univeristy. I started drawing when I was 3 years old and put a lot of time into developing my skill. My advice is as above. 1. Draw often 2. Draw all sorts of things from anatomy to animals to objects 3. Learn how to draw different shapes freehand. From bsic shapes is the building block to drawing anything 4. learn perspective ( many great youtubes on this ) A drawing class may help but it will depend greatly on the instructor and the fellow students if you actually learn anything.
  18. what I think will happen: Glen and Maggie will go on a "honeymoon" away from the prison. Rick will figure out Andrea is missing and plan a rescue and take Michonne and Daryl to Woodbury. Govenor group attack the prison and it happens when Rick's group infiltrates Woodbury. Rick's group will rescue Andrea, the Govenor's group will kill some and scatter those left in the prison ( Herschel, Beth, Carol, Carl) and will end up with little Judith.
  19. Massive thread derail so I am posting this to get back on topic:
  20. Congratulations, Jeremy. That's a sweet copy of a great book. Unfortunately, Astonishing #10 was published two years earlier. Yeah, but mine has a capital "T" in "The" - and that makes ALL the difference (at least to me and my wallet). After all, it's not called "the Walking Dead" Now where can I get a copy of Astonishing #10? Hey I had the exact same Idea. Here are my books: and for good measure: and they are dead and they are walking: It was suggested in a different thread I posted these books in to also get these books: Dark Mysteries #16, Phantom Lady #15, This Mag is Haunted #6 and Web of Evil #12.
  21. Thanks 100% to this thread!! i can tell you that the new owner of the recent heritage copy bought so 100% independent of this thread. He had me on site submit the book for grading here at megacon (results tomorrow I guess) and he doesn't have a clue about this thread. So maybe only 99% I'm very curious as to the outcome of this book. I'm guessing by the scan a very solid 6.0 and maybe even a 6.5 crmow. I think it is a 5.5
