Here's an idea. Don't post about movies and tv shows you haven't seen yet, and don't post about movies and tv shows you aren't going to watch. Way too many posters on this site just can't wait to post negative opinions about female led shows and movies. It's like clockwork.

I personally don't care who leads the show, but based on the trailers that have been shown I don't see why members of this forum can't post their opinions.

I do hope the show is amazing.

Yeah it made no sense in the show because the TV version of Echo does not have the same abilities as in the comic. The comic version is like the Taskmaster,  she can perfectly replicate the fighting abilities of anyone she watches. So in this TV version it is like your sister who has taken some karate classes fighting DD.

I especially liked the "move" where she holds her leg in the air mid fight, and DD just stands there waiting to see what she does, and Echo lets go of her leg swiping it at DD's face. It is painfully slow, and looks completely ineffective and it is as it doesn't faze DD in the slightest.

    100%.

Having just bought a nice looking raw ASM 194 off of ebay and submitting it for a signing, I was pretty disheartened to see the SS C-1 in the Category on the submission page.

Since there was no disclosure in the original listing, my guess is that the seller had no idea it was restored, so it ends up being my 'loss' - had I known it had been restored I probably wouldn't have bought it in the first place.

In the grand scheme of things, it wasn't a huge investment - lesson learned; but c'mon: even if CGC hasn't seen the book yet, if you as a seller know about the restoration, you should 100% disclose it to any potential buyer. (honestly that sounds like fraud)

Will I resubmit to have the restoration removed? I guess it will ultimately depend on how extensive the restoration is, what the grade ends up being, how much the restoration removal & regrade would cost, and how it looks in the slab.

I might just keep it as a reminder of what not to do.

another issue is the extremely vague description by CGC on exactly how much color touch there actually is on the book. I watched a friend crack open a Fantastic Four 45 that had the description "small amount of color touch on spine". Once opened and we could actually inspect the book it was revealed the entire spine was heavily touched as were other parts of the book at the top, bottom and sides. An estimate is 20% of the surface of the front cover was touched.

"We're in 2024. It's about time we have a woman shape a story in a galaxy far, far away."

Why? Why does that matter? How about it’s 2024 let’s make the best Star Wars movie yet?  Maybe in 2025 we can reshape Spiderman based on an Indigenous tribe from a South American country.

I agree. Disney continues to make the same mistakes: No one cares about the gender, the sexual orientation, the pronouns or ideologies/religion of any of the creators, directors or actors involved in the projects.

see the scenarios I listed out above. Again, theres no question what he's doing is wrong. But how he is doing wrong is what determines if it is criminally fraudulent. I contend that there are scenarios that he can get away with. Civil fraud is a different matter.

I dispute the notation that selling a book that has a CGC blue label while knowing the book inside is missing the marvel value stamp is not committing fraud.

  6. CGC's flaw here is that they do not regrade the book when you submit for reholder. So what the scammer is doing is cracking the books out of the outer plastic, swapping the labels somehow and leaving the inner wells intact. Taking the labels out of the inner well sleeve was very easy, I have not cracked a book out in a while is it still easy to remove the label?

He submits the lower quality book back to CGC likely inside the damaged outer case.

To me the fix is either:

    1. CGC must regrade all submissions even if it is simply because the outer case has been scuffed, scratched, damaged in anyway.

    2. completely seal the label portion into the inner well (if they are not currently doing that)

Regrade required for any older model slabs that come back where the label tampering is possible.

Isn't a large portion of the controversy rooted in them having a problem calling them X-MEN?

That's what I heard, but haven't looked to see if it was true.

Not know if that is current, but a year or so ago they were intending to call the X-Men "The Mutants".

We had a guy come by our booth at local shows for a few years.  He bought a few nice SA books off us and I figured he was just getting into collecting or back into collecting.  He asked us to come look at his collection, not to buy it but just to tell him what we thought.  He lives an hour from us on a farm but we love to look at collections and know what's out there so we went.

Drove by his farm a few times before we found the right driveway.  Went down into his basement and he had about 30 boxes, mostly SA starting around 1965 and a smattering of BA.  His dad would take him to town and give him a quarter to buy comics while he bought supplies.  He must have been an unusual young man because all his books are mint and looked unread.  He doesn't have internet and goes to the library in a near by town for internet access but he's essentially clueless as to values.  His Silver Surfer run is glorious, the #1 and #4 are 9.6 to 9.8.  He had a odds and ends box and there's a perfect Marvel Spotlight 5 sitting there, he had no idea it was worth anything.  @Artboy99 what did you grade that book at?  It's just a beautiful original owner collection sitting in the basement of an old farm house.

That Marvel Spotlight was at least a 9.4

  9. I think the fans just want to see content that is faithful to the original creations. The Silver Surfer is a man, his name is Norrin Radd and he sacrificed himself for the preservation of his world.

Anything else will be a mistake in my opinion because it isn't what people have been reading for 50 years.

If Disney wants to make the herald of galactus female then choose a female character as there have been female heralds. I am aware there was a female Silver Surfer that was published but I am willing to bet most of the public do not know of that version of the herald.

  10. I encourage you to put a single comic per bag with board. The sooner you start the better. If you ever do decide to sell the books it will help as the potential buyer won't have to do additional work, and therefore won't adjust their offer.

I switched to magazine sized boxes over long boxes for my collection for ease of moving the boxes around, I also really like the drawer box system.
