  1. Oh no. My feelings first go to him, his family and friends. Honestly though that was one heck of a website, I used the cover gallery as reference for covers from certain artists.
  2. I put most of my books in these at this point. I figure why not use the ones with the best protection, assuming all this is true. Especially the creep resistance part. There are a lot of creeps in my neighborhood. Advantages of Mylar® Type D Compared to Commonly Used Plastics: Resistance to diffusion of gases like oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, Sulfur Dioxide, etc. is 350 times greater than polyethylene. Permanence. There is no noticeable change in storage-100 years when compared to 2 to 5 years for others. Resistance to moisture, insect attack, fungus, mold, mildew, acid, oils, grease, and solvents is "excellent" compared to "fair" for others. Strength and creep resistance is 10 times that of polyethylene, one-third the strength of steel. Volatile Additions--Mylar® contains no dangerous plasticizers, slip additives, surface coatings, antioxidants, acid-hydrolysis compared to other commonly used plastics.
  3. And these are thinner but are sealable. They never ripped on my stuff. https://www.ebay.com/itm/322201572443
  4. E.Gerber legal size Mylite 2's are perfect. https://www.egerber.com/catalog_mylites2.htm
  5. Hey there fellas. I've heard tell of this here on the board a few times. And something about a pallet of Contact 12's once but I'm pretty sure that was a joke. Just curious, if you know, but do they bid on all kinds of books or just really high end costly type books? I mean I guess any company has the right to try to obtain anything they wan't from anywhere except from their own auctions of course. That would be like a Pete Rose type issue I would think.
  6. Impressive yes, surprising no. I didn't give it much thought until now but in my subconscious I guess I figured it would go for at least a grand. It looks ok.
  7. Closed and put on Comiclink Exchange. Hi Everyone, I'm offering two big Bronze books today. Stipulations: I prefer a personal check on these. Paypal is ok also. PM me to discuss alternative payment methods of your choice if you'd like. I will not sell to anyone with an account less than 60 days old unless we speak first through a private message. 1st gets the book. US shipping only. Shipping will be USPS registered mail. I'll pay the shipping which will be at least 100 bucks. Sorry but no refunds due to the risk of them getting lost on the way back. Not going to take that chance. My rep here is good I think, I post almost every day so no games on my end. The books will go out within 24 hours of payment, packaged extremely secure, tracking provided. Any questions just ask. Both books have been stored always bagged and boxed. Holders are perfect. Colors are strong on both books. Star Wars #1 35 cent. CGC 8.5 White pages. Last sale in this grade range was a 9.0 on HA for 21,600 which is 23,000 after tax. . I'm asking less than half that for a one tier drop in grade. 10,500 Next Book- Yep, Hulk 181 CGC 9.0 White pages. 7,200
  8. Hey there SS. The 32 right? I thought it would go a little higher, like 8 or 9k. Mostly considering what this stunning 8.5 A-2 that I had my eyes on went for in June. It was a nice 5.0. If the 5.0 had hit 10k I would not have been too surprised.
  9. Yeah. To be clear I'm not implying the lucky high bidder paid too much. Either way it's a good investment like you said. It's a freaking Tec 27 for Pete's Sake.
  10. Hey there mister! I agree a Green label 4.5 complete probably would sell for about 500k. I doubt any more than that, especially with detached covers. Have you looked at sales of recent restored copies? 7.5 A-3 9/22/22 350K, a beautiful 7.0 A-1 9/11/22 384k, and a 7.0 A-5 which compared to the previous two sold too high at 336k on 11/21/21. No big deal but I think you and I just aren't going to agree on whether or not spending 235k on a front and back cover from 2 different books with the intention of creating a mid grade Green label detached covers copy would be profitable. Side note I think whoever grabbed the 7.0 A-1 last year got a really nice book for a really nice price.
  11. Everyone knows Comiclink was "not the culprit". The collection came at the perfect time and HA did a good job with the hype. A good majority of the books, I would say especially the Bat books just sold much too high the first time out. The subsequent sales prices of most of them shouldn't be a surprise at all, not that anyone here is surprised.
  12. Yeah it had some neat books. Well it still does. Some books that you rarely see in these grades
  13. I don't know about that. Working it out as I write this I first ask how much would a complete unrestored coverless copy in say average condition with C/OW to OW/White sell for at the moment? I don't have any way to figure that. If anyone does please do tell. Let's say for the sake of this topic 500,000 clams, by clams I mean smackeroos, for a nice one. Add to that 235K for this cover. Would a mid grade qualified with covers from two different books sell for at least 700k? There is only one green label out there and I see no sales for it. I could be wrong but I just don't see how putting these covers from different books on a coverless copy and creating a detached cover green label copy and paying just about 240K for it could be that profitable.
  14. 106,666 with 2 hours to go. Even if it used to put on a coverless copy I can't see it going much higher.
  15. And how do you feel about that P? Ah just kidding . I'll tell you, out of all the cool dudes and dudettes that frequent the GA section here I get the impression you dislike that book more than anyone. At least the prices they sell for.
  16. This went much higher than I expected. A 4.5 A-1 just sold for 2,100 on CL.
  17. What? You'll Take it? Thanks Ryan , yeah it is cool. To anyone interested there are a couple of black specs on the bottom part of the ivory colored area under Jack. They're not there. I looked with a flashlight they don't exist.

  20. This may not make sense or be totally wrong but with comics Golden, Silver, Bronze, they were the primary and usually the original medium for the characters. With cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, ect ect ect the comics were just another medium which they were being marketed, but the primary was the cartoons.
