  1. This may not make sense or be totally wrong but with comics Golden, Silver, Bronze, they were the primary and usually the original medium for the characters. With cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, ect ect ect the comics were just another medium which they were being marketed, but the primary was the cartoons.
  2. Speaking of File Copies, where were these usually stored all those years? For example the EC's?
  3. Are you saying emotions are a factor in some peoples bidding habits? Yes they certainly are. I know I'm guilty at times.
  4. Me too. The color looked brighter on the 4.0 in the scan at least. i guess I could see them going for about the same. I'm sure you know there has been I think 4 - 7.0 sales in the past 2 years averaging about 28k, so I could see a 5.5 hitting 20k based on that. At 15k it shows people care about the centering/cut/wrap.
  5. Me too. Slight resto especially on a black cover is alright with me. I know. Once the 4.0 hit the price of the 5.5 from two days prior you would think bidding would have stopped, but it didn't. Crazy stuff these auctions.
  6. Here are a few books I was watching, some I think with interesting results. I'll try not to be too long winded. Action 3 not cheap but considering how rarely a nice blue label comes around I thought it could have gone higher. The two All Sellect 1's, what happened there? The 4.0 was overbid considering past results of higher grade copies in the past year or so but the 5.5 went low compared to the previous four 7.0 's. Bat 9 C-1, faded cover hurt it. Nice comparison of Silver keys 6.0/5. MM 46, the book that keeps on giving. MM's 2 and 3, yikes on the 3. I'll take the 2 any day of the week. TAR 43 2nd highest graded beauty. Little bidding war happened there. Quite a book that is. Wonderworld 32 nice price. I guess Hitler helped but it's a great cover and scarce.

  8. Thanks! Me too. I have had 4 Lou Fine's on my wantlist for a while. Jumbo 10, Mystery Men 3, Hit 5, an National 7. Those 4 books I just think would look real good together. I've got the National so I'm half way there now.
  9. I recently sold this. Hope someone here got it. Pretty cool WWII one shot.
  10. In the 80's and 90's I used to see those pins everywhere at flea markerts in NJ and Florida. Seemed every other vender had a glass case with election pins (that's what I called them) in them. I had an I Like Ike pin for years that I wore on my jean jacket. Speaking of apocalypse's, just found a show called Black Summer. Best Zombie tv show I've ever seen. You mentioned this too but old cars, Model T to 1970's. They're already up there but I see those as always constantly going up in value. To really collect those in a high end multi vehicle way you have to be pretty wealthy, but even just having one really sweet car you can't go wrong.
  11. For me it's hard to say with the 27 to 33 Bat covers and issue 28. Seems anything goes with those. 8,750 for a 2.5 C-4 36 I think is kind of a lot.
  12. Oh yeah. Now that's one comic art I'd love to see in person. I may have asked you this before but that is the earliest Superman original cover art in existence right? And I confess I always thought that was a Joe Shuster cover. Now that I look at it closer I see it's not really his style.
  13. Well thanks for asking! Well I guess AC 8 and 9. Also Detective 32 for the detail of the art. I like them all but those would be my top 3.
  14. Detective 30? Huh, to be honest that's probably my least favorite of his, or my least favorite of the DC's he did I should change the title here to Post Your Guardineer's or Favorite Guardineer Cover.
  15. Yeah that was me. I'm the one who went there faster than you can say Tom Reilly.
  16. Hey Cat. Honestly I'm not dismissing it. Sure Reilly is one of the most common names in the USA. To me that writing is quite similar to the stamp. Coincidence, no connection. probably. The same person who collected all those high grade beauties from 39 to 45 wasn't killed by some Japanese pilot in 1945 and wrote their name on that 1949 comic, possible. Unlikely but possible.
  17. Update: Of all those fake listing my now CGC AC 8 is leading the pack. There's a gosh darn bidding war.
  18. They're all good. My personal magazine favorite is this- pic from e bay sale. Edit: Is that Alligator skin?
  19. On a personal level I own the Action 8. It's not even graded by that company now. I bet many others are owned by some of us as well. Edit: The Popeye book is real I think. Some poor German must have listed it in the middle of the criminal activity.
  20. Hi Everyone. Am I the only one getting sick of seeing this ? It's at least once a week, every week. Seems they hijack someones account and post the same fake listings.
  21. Haha. Very cool. Here's another from those nice people down in Texas. https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?IID=47909743
  22. It looks more like 2.0 to 2.5 to me. Not saying that to be mean, just my 2.0 cents. If it was a purchase I think you can get a refund. Tell them if not you're going to post it in the GA section of CGC.
