  1. ComicLink has no BP. And from what I see they had no back cover scan either, which is just (insert proper adjective here). The CC 7.0 does look a little nicer. In the video it does have really nice colors. The CL copy also may have as well but now we just can't tell. I do appreciate their honesty for obviously not using the brightness and contrast controls on their scanner. I mean that. I'm thinking the CL copy just showed up at a bad time because those who have a Cop 1 on their wish list were well aware of the CC copy by March 1st. Maybe they refrained from going after the CL copy in order to pursue the CC. If so I bet some are now wishing they hadn't. They may have been able to get it for 211,000. The CC copy is just about 240k right now but I doubt it will get much higher when the rollover timer begins. I'm fairly confident that whoever placed bids early on the CC copy were outbid right away which is why it's where it's at at the moment. Putting videos of the books in the auction page is a good idea too.
  2. That makes sense, both of you above. Just didn't want to see the guy go to the wrong person for advice. Sf you know I'm not the OP here. Closest I'll ever come to a Tec 27 would be the scraps of a trimmed copy.
  3. If one were to get a 3rd party involved what would stop that 3rd party from snatching it themselves? I guess the only way would be to make a contract, but even then if it's a real good deal that wouldn't stop them.
  4. Maybe I shouldn't say this but to me the CC auctions don't start until the 3 minute timer begins, prior to that they're just previews.
  5. Oh, Maybe. She's thinking about something that hasn't even happened. She's in love with Mr Brownsuit but she's never actually been to a dance with him. Maybe he stood her up or broke the date at the last minute. Something Suddenly Came Up.
  6. Nice book. I like it about as much as 25 honestly. It's just less colorful. I thought up until a few seconds ago that she was thinking about the night before or some wonderful night of her life when she dancing on the clouds. Now I see all the girls have different hair styles . The small one in the back isn't even her I think. Now I'm not sure if they are all her, all the same guy, all the same night, or what's going on in her pretty little head.
  7. Oh bummer. Well now I know what to get you for your birthday
  8. Those are just sweet. Mr. B do you have a Jumbo 12? Buccaneer Vengeance!
  9. Oh. I wasn't expecting that. I thought some would give a ribbing for suggesting it's over-rated price-wise. I guess there's still time.
  10. It's a mystery to me, kind of. Maybe I'm not seeing something? Looking at past sales, yes a decent grade Blue Label rarely comes around. Is it an awesome cover, yes it is. But so are so many others in the series There are 40 Blues out there, about the same as most MM's in that time frame. I guess I'm not seeing why some are willing to pay 5X or more for number 9 than most other early MM's. I see there are 13 copies 5.0 or better. 8 of them 5.5's and 6.0's. But I don't see a sale above 4.5 since 2012. I would think with the dough a higher grade would rake in at least someone would be willing to part with theirs.
  11. Hey SF. So the collection was bought by CA in 72. But do we know how they were sold after that? Maybe all at once or maybe even circa 79 CA still had some amount of them. If so maybe the new William Holt got his hands on some.
  12. Awesome! So if the Cosmic employee had a friend named William Holt like you said that would be one humdinger of a coincidence. Hope he responds.
  13. That's interesting. I hadn't thought of that. So you're thinking maybe the printing company where W.C. worked in the 30's and 40's and after the war may have been in the comic printing business? That's possible I guess. It would make sense. If so he maybe have just taken home one for himself the whole time and at some point he got a neat stamp with his name on it and stamped a few. Imagine working at a comic printers who printed comics back then? I think I'll take a few of these Batman 1's home, maybe they'll be worth something someday.
  14. I feel so bad for the seller. Hopefully it was a very wealthy person who it won't affect much and not someone who had their life savings tied up in the book. Sad too because little by little CL has been getting more GA stuff, at least it seems that way to me , but this is gonna hurt that.
  15. At first I thought this was photos of Edgar Church's home. I just can't believe what I'm looking at here. X a million.
  16. Well that's due to the relative scarcity of the run. this would be a great time to invest in this modern milestone. Miles Morales-Modern Milestone, little sublimal marketing happening there?
  17. Sweet. Thun'da and Frank kind of look alike. The highest graded Yellow label is coming up pretty soon.
  18. I saw the sticker was removed and the cover shifted but holy cow! Shouldn't have messed with it. Even I would have known better and making bad decisions is kind of my thing.
  19. yeah it's gotta be something that was removed. If it is color touch, and I am not claiming it is, the "inker" would have to color the black first then put the red ink over it with perfect artistry. It's a pretty detailed little spot.
  20. Oh! That's a nice looking 7.0 too! Did you buy it raw at some point? Did you know it was a Crippen when you bought it?
  21. Good eye up there. It is the same book. There is writing on the letter O in the same exact spot. Top edge is the same. Little black dot under the R same spot. Thanks to Heritage for keeping archives and allowing us to zoom right in on the books. That white chip or scuff is not in the holder. Right where the chip is on the 5.5 there is supposed to be some red over the black, 2 spikes of red stand out clearly. They are gone in the 5.5 holder but like you're pics show they're back on the 7.5. One possibility is that the white chipping on the 5.5 was not chipping but some kind of matter that was removed, but I don't think so. I would think it would be the " top front cover chip out" in the old notes. I don't know.
  22. The Made in Japan part is kind of weird. I don't think Japan recovered from the war and started making products for export until the mid 50's. Neat Item though. Most likely no older than 1954. Whataya think?
