  1. This seller on Ebay sells all fake stuff. He specializes in seemingly high end comic items that you would find in Hake's like Superman bread badges worth thousands. I reserved to buy a Canadian Ogilvie Superman cardboard item that looked just like the sticker. By the time I found out this was fake and there was no such thing, he refused to cancel the transaction and he was very nasty about it and told me "Too bad it is fake" He never said it was fake in the description. I have been on Ebay since 2004, tomorrow I will receive my first strike ever because of this insufficiently_thoughtful_person. In the past 12 months he has negative feedback about selling fake items but I figured erroneously that he must sell something real. His items are so real looking. Well lesson learned. I don't want you guys getting caught. I have a respect for this hobby and I don't like to see anyone get burned.

  2. I found out about an antique store that had a lot of comics so I got excited. It was a semi long drive but I came with 500 in cash ready to get some gems. What I found was a joke! They had a lot of comics alright, a lot of 70's and 80' garbarge. And the owner had the nerve to have dollar books locked in a glass case. She had Dazzler #1 in vg condition locked in the case. This was WTF moment. So I asked the owner if she had any comics from the 30's, 40's,50's and she walked me right back to the glass cases and told me how old these books are. I was like ma'am you can tell how old they are by the cover price. I told her that 25 cents and 30 cents is not old enough. So she quickly pointed to a 12 cent Showcase comic in the glass case. So I told her I am basically looking for 10 cent comics which she had none. She said, wow! I learn something everyday. She had hundreds of comics. Alll she had to do is buy an Overstreet. That was such a waste of gas to go over there.

So I want to know have you guys ever found anything good at these hole in the wall antique shops? Should I keep searching in places like this?

  3. My favorite is the original Sandman. I loved his suit, hat, and gas mask. I thought that was so cool looking and I was ultra super disappointed when they gave him that cheesy superhero costume. Also, adding to his mystique is that he didn't last long or have his own comic. I have a reprint book that I can read all the original Adventure comics stories in. I also thought it was original that he had a gun that shoots stuff to put you to sleep. Everything about the original Sandman is cool. Everything about the new Sandman makes me barf.
