  1. https://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-of-4-NATIONAL-LAMPOON-MAGAZINE-JULY-AUGUST-SEPTEMBER-NOVEMBER-1974-OR-U-PICK/183921749685?hash=item2ad2972eb5:g:1yoAAOSw31pdVv7s https://www.ebay.com/itm/NATIONAL-LAMPOON-YOUR-PICK-from-LOT-of-50-vintage-MAGAZINES-1972-1978/183991981281?hash=item2ad6c6d4e1:g:W2MAAOSwiJRdoNt~ they could explain it a little better, but that seems to be what they are allowing
  2. Why? Each book gets its own scan. I am not doing back covers on $4 books anyway, I agree, I do not like the ones where they have a picture from 5 feet away showing 9 books in one picture and you can barely see them and they say you can pick one. Like I said, I have sold books this way before, I just don't have enough of a track record doing it to really know if it works.
  3. Rummaging through my boxes pulled some random Godzilla issue in the teens and was staring long and hard at it trying to make it look like a 9.8...
  4. Maybe the winner took another look at the #12 and decided he didn't want to pay $257 for a miscut 9.8? Or he won multiple books, did not think he would win so many, and realized he did not have the budget for it and begged out of one of them? There are times when I put out a bunch of bids and if I actually won them I would be toast, but I know I will lose 90% of the auctions. As for why the seller did not second chance you at $252...maybe he understood that it would have never gotten into the $200s without the other guy bidding who pulled his bid and decided it would not be right to take advantage? It's a good theory. I might do something similar if I felt the #2 bid got there because the #1 bidder acted off, particularly if I am happy with the outcomes on a bunch of books. But seriously, Godzilla slabs are big money? Is shogun warriors next?
  5. Your detective 474 is about a 6.5 and worth $15-25. A better looking pgx 8.5 just sold for $35. The MS. Marvel I can't judge, but its not a 9.8. An 8.5 is a nice looking copy generally and that's worth about $120... After you have spent $ on cgc fees. Raw.. $80? Spiderman 234 is worth $5-10 even in pristine shape. The arm 361 is a good book, but 362 is a $15 book. What you have pictured is mostly $1-$10 stuff. Sorry to be a Debbie downer. But if you genuinely have a stack of asm 300 in nice shape that is a stack of loot.
  6. If you just want to get it over with send them to mycomicshop. Consign the good stuff, sell them the less good stuff. As for water damaged books, expensive key issues might be salvageable. A water logged FF 3 is still worth sonething. Stop looking at cgc prices. You don't know how to grade, so stop fantasizing about certain books being 9.8s. With that said, the ASM 300s may be worth slabbing regardless. The other stuff, not so much.
  7. I guess not that exciting. I looked at asking prices rather than competed sales. Still, a book I have actually bid on recently not realizing I already owned it!
  8. Just looking through a box of archies I paid no more than $1 each for an found this...
  9. Around 2000-2002 I remember a canadian art supply company was doing a $1 for $2 Canadian deal. Their canvases were u.s. prices, but Canadian dollars. I was really tempted to load up on supplies because I wanted to paint again, but never pulled the trigger. And shipping was soooo much cheaper then. I think if I spent a few hundred it was free.
  10. Not when you list them as a lot and solicit offers for books within the lot. Admittedly folks need to do a little exploring and read the description to understand this option as "you pick" may not be obvious from the title. I have definitely sold books this way, just not as many as I hoped. Then again, run filler is always slow.
  11. I sold some like this at the prime hype moment for ms. Marvel and listed like 10 in one listing, not so much since. It is a nice way to list 3000 books in your 250 item store, but if people who buy singles ignore them then it is pointless.
  12. I have a question. And this group is probably the wrong one to ask. But anyway, last week I ran a bunch of auctions of $4-$5 type books. some sold, most did not. I am not planning on re-listing most, but as I put a fair amount of work into this listings and I was listing a bunch of each title, I'd like to list 9-12 in one store listing as a big lot with the stated option of people making offers just on the issues they want. I am putting variations of "you pick" in the title. Do folks just tend to ignore listings like that? I see a lot of these. I don't want to waste store slots on individual $4 books.
  13. I am fond of Archie 10 cents. Much earlier than this they start getting expensive though. But seriously, was Veronica's outfit even legal in the 50s?
  14. There were 500 or so borders locations in the USA before the bankruptcy. They carried newstand editions. I would check the racks for newsy versions of any hot book, but everything was always trashed, which helps explain 75-90% return rates. So add in another 2500-5000++ copies of certain titles going to borders to the analysis.
  15. She has been doing ninja training for years, any ninja could figure out how to use these bat gadgets!
  16. Will Smith was fine. Deadshot was the only character who got any sort of development.
  17. I've stopped looking at what pops up on facebook. too much wasted time.
  18. Margot Robbie is gorgeous, but I did not find her all that attractive in the movie.
  19. That's a pretty low bar. Yes, the last FF movie was unwatchable. I watched suicide squad, found a few limited parts ok, Claire whatserherface was pretty hot, margot Robbie, who actually is hot, came off as not so hot, deadshot was ok, but most of the other characters were too rushed. did not like this version of the joker. The movie could have been a lot better.
  20. If the Joker was a theme park movie, it was a disturbing theme park. The Joker was a remake of Taxi Driver, more or less, except Deniro's character in Taxi Driver was more connected to reality and had more realistic goals. With that said, Scorcese is just yapping old man talk. The MCU movies are delivering a movie to a broad demographic. 6-12 year olds don't want "cinema" and the 30-40-50 year olds taking them to the movies are content with some action and a bit of plot. It's called entertainment. A movie doesn't have to leave you with a pit in your stomach for a few days.
  21. I am amazed Suicide Squad made that much money. It was a terrible movie with so much wasted potential.
  22. Looking at DC's more recent movies only Justice League was a real money loser, followed by Superman, which arguably broke even, assuming the rule of thumb you need 3X budget at the box office to turn a profit. Wonder Woman and Aquaman made oodles. Shazam made enough above 3x budget to be acceptable (I thought that would do better with the younger crowd). Anyway, while I assume Birds of Prey, if made for $70 million, will also be profitable, I do not know if the success of the Joker really means DC can crank out DC Dark movies en masse and make money. Joker is an iconic character. Perhaps THE most iconic villian. Phoenix brings in some non super hero viewers (my wife was willing to see the movie and she hates super hero movies (other than wonder woman)). Not so sure a Deathstroke movie does it. Or a Lobo movie. Maybe Lobo as the villain (or, more likely, villain turned frienamy when someone far worse than lobo shows up on the scene)
