  1. I need to get out there hunting before the weather is horrible. Dragged my wife to a street side mini-flea where I have had some scores, but the "comics" they had left were worse than drek. I guess some other comic hunter had figured them out.
  2. I have received multiple offers on items and rejected all of them as too low. Sometimes I don't even take the highest offer if one buyer looks problematic. While I am not sure your multiple offer scenario is shilling per se, it is weird. With that said, maybe it works sometimes for you. Is it collusion in a legal sense, probably not, but close. If I was a seller in this scenario who found out this happened I'd have a crappy view of the buyer. Of course, life is full of little dishonesties. I dunno. It's not something I would do.
  3. Hard to read but looks like big money (for 1980) on wwbn 32 even in 1980, evicerating the idea that it was worthless until 10 years ago. Mind you, every other mk appearance outside of splatt was kind of worthless (I used to get 1 and the spotlight app out of $1 boxes all the time)
  4. Yeah, there is only one 30 cent version of 164 I think, so the diamond price version started at 165. Seems to be maybe an 8-10:1 ration square to diamond.
  5. Yes. I have sold the earliest ones for a premium. Nothing crazy, but OPG for a mid-grade spidey or cap as opposed to a discount from Opg
  6. I would not plow money into Eternals at current prices.
  7. In 1985 or 1986 mile high was selling 181 for $35 and 32 for $24. 32 was an expensive book (for then) and I believe MK had just been cancelled.
  8. I was constantly sending money to/from my wife And we have different last names. PayPal never did anything. Thousands of $.
  9. If you think asm 300 or 299 have upward potential try to get them for $2000. 300 is going for $2000 or so, 299 $250-300, try to make a deal, maybe you can get both for under $2000 paying cash.
  10. Nice pickups, I was also flipping forward to see if they were still there. Might not have been able to pay the mortgage this month though...
  11. I guess it depends on the ratings this season. Michone eventually leaving will not help. "Fear" is ok, I watch it for whatever reason.
  12. OK, "attention" is vague. WWBN 32 has been bumped out a lot longer than 10 years. I have a 2005 OPG in my office and it is $125 in 9.2. Hero for Hire #1 was only $95. Iron Man 55 was $180. The sales section on p. 128 lists a CGC 9.6 selling for $1,500 and a 9.4 for $500. So not 50 cent box material. It was a bronze key then, not an upper tier one, sure. I'm more thinking, in 1980, when Moon Knight 1 came out, did that make #32 a $5 book (real money in those days) that collectors started trying to keep in decent shape? I think a lot of things may have helped keep Hulk 181s in decent shape. Hulk had a pretty decent readership/collectordom and Wolverine appeared in GS X-Men 1 not that long after. And, yes, while it took a little while for him to build his cult status, we're still talking mid-70s, just a couple of years after 181 came out, so savy collectors may have been trying to preserve copies, whereas #32 had a few more years to marinate in 5 for $1 boxes. Someone with a 1979 or 1980 overstreet can probably answer the question or someone who actively collected then. My childhood brain does not remember these things. I was thinking about silver age and the New X-Men then.
  13. Alright, as I am not doing NYCC unless a free badge drops in my lap this one is a serious consideration. Plus, I get paid 3X in October.
  14. A discount for 10-17 year olds would be nice...encourage the next generation of fans. And incentive for me to bring my 14 year old as well as the 7 year old...
  15. It would be nice if there were some comic spin offs. While the $2000 is TV driven it helps having something being published.
  16. Looks like about $3000 worth of books. What does that convert into loonies? Not so great considering 10-15% evaporates when you sell online.
  17. Hulk sold maybe 2x as many copies as wwbn. Does anyone know when 32 started getting attentio? Marvel wanted MK to be something with the spotlight and rampaging hulk stories, but it took a while to happen. 181 was something fairly early.
  18. Does seem to be a lot of distance shots of comics, no grading, very confusing, which is why when I see a listing done competently I pay attention.
  19. Right, it says "fantasy masterpieces"... Very different than those reprints that came out a few years ago that many people have been scammed with. With that said, the auction written description is just flat out wrong and the buyer would have every reason to back out, except it seems like he wasn't the only one duped (unless the seller just shilled him up)
  20. Marvel tales is a 1964 marvel #1that went into the 90s...
  21. Hulk I guess. But really, I would replace my roof, finish my basement, and pay off my credit cards. Ok, all 3 may be more than $55k.
