Criminey, at some point I stopped bothering buying that book out of $1 boxes, now it is worth something?

He needs supervision. I'll set a chair up, but for reasons I don't understand, he is not good at bagging and boarding comics, although he can get pokeman cards in sleaves ok. also, part of this project is for me to pick out expensive stuff that might just be in regular piles, ike I did with an NYX 3 that was in a silver age bag with 5 other comics from around that year. Clearly I had gotten it out of a cheap-0 box with some drek.

I took a break from all of this. The room I have the comics in can get pretty stuffy and I have no AC up there. Plus work got very very busy and, frankly, I am old and tired. I took a break from comics generally and these boards too. I'll be back, just busy with other stuff. My son has been bugging me to do a comics sorting night, so when the weather gets better we'll probably be back at it.

Sounds like a fantastic class action lawsuit. Not sure what kind of immunity the USPS has, but I am surprised someone hasn't pushed it.

No real point doing this for 2 comics. The envelope is a dead give away and doesn't look "media mailish"..sending it in a box so that it seems like it might be books.... Why on earth were these books sent media to save $2? nuts.

Nowadays if you are driving to the con and get pulled over at a traffic stop the cops may decide the $3K in your pocket is to buy drugs or from the sale of drugs and not to buy a reader Amazing Fantasy 15.

This movie didn't "seem" like it should be that expensive, but if the movie was basically done twice, yes, I suppose that makes sense.

They wanted memorial day weekend. The theatre I went to was packed, but we were also in a beach town and it was rainy, so nothing else to do.

I thought Last Jedi had some real flaws..as in almost everything about the movie. While it did great at the box office, it seems to have hurt SOLO really badly. perhaps 2 movies in 6 or so months is just too much? Solo was not a bad movie, but it looks like it may be a box office bust.

J&S still exists, but they are no longer in Red Bank, and I am almost certain there have been a few different owners since that ad given the current guys would have been in their teens then. They do a big set-up at shows in the NYC area.

MY bad, I thought the more expensive (as a back issue) had a higher cover price, but I was wrong! I thought the orange one had some gold foil in there, but I guess I am remembering it wrong.

I see more foils now. When I found a "regular" (lower print run?) version about a year ago there were like 1 or 2 up at any given time. Wayyyy more foil versions (not selling for much). I think people realized this was a $50-$75 book and started digging hard to find it and now we have a bunch of copies up. Probably not a $50-$75 book anymore as a result.

Why isn't it a variant? I understand it was not some 1:500 deal like we do now. It just seems very few of the expensive cover got ordered.

When did you secure possession of them?

The way the movie left off it seems like there should be more life in these Infinity sets, like they won't die within days of the movie opening.

I am so pissed off, I thought I had many multiples of the Infinity sets, and while I have a lot of them, I have like 6 copies of some issues, but other than 1 set of each, am missing like one issue of each, blah!

Why are the variants abused? Is it your view that many were sitting in one place in storage owned by people who were abusive?

I am being facetious. I feel just the opposite. He thinks he is doing the right thing. He isn't doing it for power. Wasn't there a 50/50 chance he would zap himself? (Or did the Gauntlet protect him?). In GOTG, etc. he came across as just an evil person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed, but now they have developed him and nuanced him.

I don't think they would analyze it that way. Other than Babe Ruth, nobody is in that discussion. 200 wins alone with those numbers has gotten people in. Look at Catfish Hunter (whose other numbers were way worse than that, but he was iconic and had a cool name). Numbers that half way get you there in both areas would be sufficient for a unique player like that. Plus his WAR would likely be high enough. He is only 23. 15 years in the bigs he should be able to hit 150/1500, maybe better. Obviously he needs to stay healthy.
