  1. I would think with insured packages the postal worker would be less prone to sign themselves and leave in random spots. people are gonna file claims.
  2. Well, I'm not a genius or anything, it took 4 seconds to find the listing on ebay
  3. why would anyone be interested in the non-sandman pages slabbed? doesn't it have more value to someone looking to buy replacement wraps in order to complete their copy?
  4. A VG costs $200 - 240 based on recent sales (although one I see probably could have been a 4.5 with "ebay grading", the $240 one doesn't look like a VG), so in this market a genuine 2.0 should be $90-120-130? So, $85 is on the high end for that copy if we call it a 1.0. MCS has a consignment 1.5 up for $180 (less on their website), but that is wacky consignment asking prices. That book is a mess.
  5. If you are unhappy, return it, say item is not as described. I agree that "attached with tape" implies a complete, but detached cover that is reattached with tape, not a completely split cover that is badly put together with tape. With that said, I would have asked for more clarification. Sparkle City is a big seller with good feedback, i don't think they're going to give you a hard time. But their listings say contact them first, so maybe do that before requesting a return.
  6. Both my kids "read" a TON of comics through these videos. It isn't that kids don't like comics. They don't like paying $3-5 a pop for paper when they can get the story for free elsewhere.
  7. well, in theory I just sold a bike I had literally found in the trash for $65, and i bought comics that day too, so you could say i converted the trash bike into comics. someone gave up on it because the tires needed air and one was a little off kilter and was rubbing the frame. i just kicked it into place and it was fine.
  8. In 1994 or 95 I used to work 3 hours a week at my old old LCS on Friday afternoons, which were a big shoplifting day for the local school, to look scarey and such. I would get a $35 store credit toward back issues. Realistically he got more than 3 hours out of me as i would hang out and b.s., but his employee had the day off for some reason that day.
  9. I liked the first one a lot. I should try to get my 9 year old to watch it, but Invincible has pretty much ruined television for him. If there is not an ample amount of blood and brains splattered he is not interested. Mortal Combat just barely met his requirements. What the heck have I done? And then he was lecturing me on the story arc in The Boys --- who wins in a fight daddy, Homelander or Omniman?... I said, hold it, you're not allowed to watch The Boys!! Turns out he has basically been reading the comics via Youtube videos.
  10. It really doesn't if you keep watching, utopian has a code, that's about it. at least through episode 4 or 5 when I fell asleep. I an actually kind of feeling like netflix dropping the whole season at once is making less sense. I would be ok with 2 episodes a week. I've been watching the netflix model for a couple of years now and these binges are not healthy.
  11. I think I only have 1 left. They seemed like something I should sell ASAP when I was getting $30-50 a copy.
  12. it is somewhere in the ebay or paypal rules. The package was late. The guy filed his complaint. The item arrived with confirmation. I told ebay "look, he got it", they said no SS, no good, and forced the refund of $750 or whatever it was (maybe $800), which I did not agree with. It pretty much ended a selling account that had like 1500 100% positive feedback (the guy did not even leave a neg and his e-mails pretty much implied he got the package and that he would pay me what he decided they were "worth" and then never paid anything (t was a grab bag lot).
  13. Not for $750 or over. I forgot to do SS on a $750 package and ebay told me I was SOOL despite tracking and delivery confirmation.
  14. What neighbor would not do that? I live in Brooklyn where we are all supposedly horrible humans and I can't think of any of my neighbors who wouldn't.
  15. I had not gotten a haircut since september. My hair was pretty long. She took a long time on it. So they might have forgotten me or it might have been a different cashier (this was midtown comics, they have a few employees). Then again, their computer might have flagged this.
  16. yes, a few months there. i don't know when the first stimulus money hit.
  17. I probably could have just come back and bought another one. I should have gone there before my haircut and come back 40 minutes later rather than after my haircut.
  18. ok, this shop, I think, said "no holds," which i guess is not a pre-order
  19. Agreed. Never been outright scammed like that. 1500-2000 or so comic sales.
  20. Seems line they are trying to create artificial perceived scarcity to attract interest. I could have bought 50 if they had not limit.
