  1. I'm thinking anything is possible when it comes to a 45+ year old key in that sort of condition.
  2. I spent 2 hours digging through 40 magazine boxes at a shop and bought 160 50 cent books. I'm really hoping The New 52 Batwoman Bounces back (10 copies), black adam/issues (7) too.. Some low print late milestones, y the last 7, stars stripes 4, doctor voodoo 1, Hawkeye 7 2d print..pictured are basically all the books that have a good shot at $5+. Not so exciting. The Batwoman was doing $20 a while back. So.. There's a reason the others were in the 50 cent box. Not terrible stuff. I picked up a lot of new 52 Justice league darks, batgirls...
  3. So it sells for as much as a decent ba #1, a spotlight 29 or splatt's first cover? Cray
  4. It is like a $60 book in 9.4, hardly seems worth the effort.
  5. I need to visit some places. The place I buy my bags and boards from is completely picked over (mostly by me) and they don't seem to be putting new cheap stuff out. I probably need to revisist my other spot around me, but last time i was there I spent about $150, and, frankly, it was mostly long term stuff. not much in the way of immediate winners. I'm hoping something pops in the 2-3 years each I bought of Batman, Detective, and Action from 2017-2019.
  6. He has no interest in spending the $15 on comics, which have far outpaced inflation. He'll read comics, if i buy them for him, He will spend $60 on a new video game that he will play for 1,000 hours.
  7. why would someone go through the trouble of tampering with this cheap book? it isn't like it is a 9.8
  8. 102 is wayyyy cheaper than any of 3-6. It may be going up faster, but it was pretty cheap before. Psychologically people were more willing to accept Iron Man 1 as an expensive book before Hulk 102, just because of the numbering. Hulk 102 in the 4.0-5.0ish range seems to have doubled since January from $65-75 to $130-150. Of course, Tales to Astonish is completely forgotten in the mix, along with Tales of Suspense.
  9. the willingness to accept the last 1 or 2 sales as the new floor for the books ... and seemingly everyone quickly re-pricing their books to reflect that,
  10. SS1 was the one of them that was actually viewed as a key book all along (not key like the first wave of Marvels, but I think a F/VF SS 1 was probably about the same price as a VGish DD 1. Iron Man 1s were everywhere. I had almost as many of them as I had FF 48s and I don't think I ever paid more than $50.
  11. anyway, I sat on my butt and my 3 polybagged copies wound up being worth $25 rather than $60-75. lost even more waiting on Action 9, although I think I might regret selling them when they have a second or third wind, although maybe crisis 7 is the one to have
  12. right, nobody can certify that it is a rare 2 card polybagged variant yaddah yaddah b.s.
  13. while it is an unusual cover, not sure it is one that elicits much interest like the 2006 #1 (which was heavily ordered and doesn't seem worth much), so i can see folks passing on it on the rack at $3.99, just another of a million re-boots on the surface if you can't predict some character on the inside of it will matter in 7 years
  14. Someone here posted about how easy it was to re-seal the polybags and sold some ones that had been messed with like this (with full disclosure, of course). Not saying this seller did this, but it would be really hard to know and CGC is not certifying that.
  15. Did someone really just pay $150 for this, where they might have just stuck an extra card in there and re-sealed the polybag? And now they're pushing the reverse negative captain america logo as an error....even though it is on half of the copies printed!! https://www.ebay.com/itm/X-Force-1-Sealed-Very-Rare-Multi-Card-And-Negative-Upc-Error-Deadpool-Cards-/174718837699?hash=item28ae0de3c3%3Ag%3A7aEAAOSwS0hgaWd4&nma=true&si=BZbpsjZvXBDBh7scMVfgI%2BAabNw%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  16. The 221 seems cheap. The 282 is a little less than ebay. I don't bother researching modern 9.6ses
  17. On april 15 one sold for $27.99 and another for $15. $15 was pretty normal, I hope the $27.99 is the new normal, but I'm not sure I'd bet on it just yet.
  18. Not seeing it yet. That's always been a book that could sell for $15 or $5 depending on random things, but maybe the frequency of $15-20 sales is up. But you are right about MCP 72. In the last week in particular. And 79 is on the rise. I haven't looked at all the individual issues, but the set is looking more like it should be $200+ for nice copies rather than the $79.99-99.99 it had been selling for.
  19. Really? I remember selling it for a chunk more even earlier than then, not even newsstand
  20. well, interpol has no been alerted given that we were able to rent a car elsewhere in europe in 2019, so I'm not on any most wanted list
  21. I really miss the good old days when I could sent a flat rate priority mail envelope to canada for like $7, which was not that long ago. it is nuts what it is now. and back then the lack of tracking did not worry me so much because canadians are pretty honest. it makes zero sense that I can sent some comics to buffalo for $4.03 and it costs $20 more or something to go an extra hour to toronto costs an extra $10, at least.
  22. I did not even realize the non-homage had the cameo inside until now. i had thought the whole "cameo" was on the cover. Someone here will correct me if i am wrong, but I think the non-homage cover was a $3 book for a long time.
