  1. Well, nobody's perfect! hmmm...you can be obtuse in your obtuseness
  2. KK sees the word "Peterbilt" heading straight for him... "This is the beginning of time, not the start of life on earth. That happens way later. The beginning of time is sort of like Reno, without the gambling." "Damn continuity freaks," he mutters. And the piece of resistance! ... "The retcon was unpopular, so the retcon got retconned...." Joanna - there are some mighty fine thangs going on there! Made me laugh a week's worth of oxygen into me!
  3. That better not have been just lately... Received it yesterday...... Don't worry Joe.....it was a "reading copy". Yeah - but those in the know - well - they know what a Greggy "reading copy" can look like - and I don't mean a reader!
  4. I agree it's a great cover but I find the MC Hammer pants a bit distracting. MC Hammer pants? Good god! The pants pre-date the comic! They were in 19th century India as, I believe, "jaipurs". Good lord and all that! Quite!
  5. I have to say, I agree. It is a fascinating thing to ponder on exactly HOW the artists felt about those covers...and somehting like this is - well - just so good to see!
  6. That cover is a bit suggestive. She's touching that long hard object and it explodes... Well - wouldn't yours?
  7. Just found another one of those "Standards" in my collection. Carl cover is sweet! (yeah - I forgot how to spell Schomburg!)
  8. That's just an awesome cover! (and povertyrow, yours is pretty nice too!) OK - I think the writers of Doctor Strangelove got the Slim Pickens finale from this cover!!!!!!
  9. In my personal opinion, it's completely appropriate to post that particular cover in any and every thread on the board. Well, I guess I canot dispute you on that!
  10. Ack! Still more of the antithesis of pre-code horror that really appeals! PS - that Donald Duck from 1937 puts me in mind of Supe #1!!!!!!!!!!
  11. On the nosey. Was a warehouse find. Still one of my fave Things! That Palais cover knocks me out!!!
  12. LOVE Thing 16!!!!! Some great stories in it. This was the first book I unslabbed from a CGC (NM- 9.2).
  13. About a G+/VG-, I think. In hand, the silver lightning bolt really shines, even on a rather worn copy such as this one... It may be "rather worn" but you know? It is still a sweetie!
  14. Hey! You finalized the deal on a freaking house! It is natural to be somewhat distracted!
  15. Only as much as you can have a "1st SA Cap appearance" and make it mean anything if it is the same char! I mean, look at Flash or Human Torch for GA/SA comparisons of "new" chars based on GA. (man - I am really stretching my memory back 15 or so years so if my refs to Flash or Torch are off, please treat me gently).
  16. Mylite? I don't recall. When his storyline comes back, I'll figure it out. Geez! You're giving away the best writer tricks!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Now don't you know that architects should be seen but not heard? (Think about it -it actually makes Ayn Rand anti-sense!)
  18. Just received from ebay - Old_Guy turned me on to this cover by his posting it on the boards and have been looking ever since then to find one. Was a tough search but got it on ebay for $18.49 plus 3.50 shipping. I think it is a bargain!
