  1. You might want to change the way you listed that Batman from #325 to #235!
  2. I am still catching up on the boards and this is the sort of news I dread encountering. I am truly sorry to learn of this.
  3. Tell them you will be happy to supply hi-res scans.
  4. You should increase that confidence by .001%!!! Back in the day it was often called "ink transfer stain". Now "oil transfer stain" seems to be more common. It can ever be called just "transfer stain". BTW - that Journey #24 is one of my favorite mummy covers!
  5. As always thanks Mike. You never fail to come through! Unfortunately, I have been logged in with my Premium Membership. Last search I tried was about 90 minutes ago that gave me the error. Just tried again and got the same error. Seems an awful long time to still generate that error. Could something actually be either broken or have an incorrect parameter in the algorithm?
  6. Actually I have not seen it yet but have watched several reactions/reviews by Youtubers who are not Marvel apologists and they all seem to come to the same conclusion. The story is weak but the acting and the characters are quite good, including *Brie "Don't call her gorgonzola. She'll flip the eff out!" Larson. Most of them were ultimately delighted with the comedic turns. Of course those "40 year old white dudes" who cannot release a grudge while venting their oh so hurt feelings have gotten old in the tooth and are losing their bite. I'm looking forward to seeing it in July on Disney. Just wish it could hit streaming sooner. The pieces I saw look fun. *The gorgonzola ref:
  7. Exactly. A carefully removed inner cover would be undetectable.
  8. Agreed! "I go get flashlight from patrol car." But he actually produced a wonderfully convincing comedic line with this "I'm a big boy now, Johnny!" BTW - Plan 9 From Outer Space was originaly shot for 1.85:1 widescreen. The original aspect ratio really enhances the viewing experience.
  9. So I took this advice and tried a few searches and soon got hit with "CGC Search Limitation Exceeded, Looking Up Your search activity has exceeded our limits. These limits help to protect the security of our database. Please try again later." I checked ASK CGC and saw the same issues was asked back in 2020. No apparent resolution there or explanation other than someone was going to check the functionality. I posted the following in ASK CGC and just waiting for it to clear an admin and get posted there: I have dome a few searches with the Certification tool and got hit with CGC Search Limitation Exceeded, Looking Up Your search activity has exceeded our limits. These limits help to protect the security of our database. Please try again later. I've waited a while. Changed from Chrome to Firefox. Wiped all history. Disabled all extensions, and still get this. I have a Premium CGC Membership. I have three questions: 1) if there is a limitation to the number of searches what is that number? 2) If one has to wait a certain time to search again what is that wait time? 3) If neither of the above is there a fix for this? Thanks!
  10. I saw this was asked once in 2020 but no resolution. 11. Good lord I never knew that about HA, and I have had an account with them for years! Useful little tool! Thanks.
  12. THE BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS has to rank in the bottom. It is so low budget that they did not have synced sound, but shot any scene with dialogue so you could not actually see the person talking: for example, from a far distance or from the back of the head. Even Tor Johnson was not able to save this one! Full movie on Youtube but due to nudity in the opening scene I decided to show the trailer here. Sadly the trailer is heck of a lot more interesting than the movie thanks to the bong drum action!
  13. And you can use the instructions shows on the CGC site to get a good idea of packing methods for shipping to CGC.
  14. Thanks but it is a deceptively simple question. As I said on the first post, there was a period a couple of years ago when finger bends and creases seemed rampant on freshly pressed books (mine included) as CGC ramped up their personnel. All I am asking is if this seems to be continuing with folks who have recently received their books back from CGC.
  15. Yes, this was happening in the midst of CGC playing catchup and increasing the hiring of new graders. I understand all that. I am trying to determine from folks who have submitted and received books back recently if this finger bend/crease/fingerprint trend has been lessened..
  16. Both. This was back in Feb 2022 and lots of folks were reporting especially finger bends and creases that were not there before. It has been documented enough for Mike to put out a request for folks to send him details of their submissions. Since pretty much a couple of years have gone by I wanted to discern if this remains as bad as it was then.
  17. Unfortunately the way the book is curled it seems to be hiding the most likely area. Can you get a shot deeper into the curve so we can see that price box area on the inner front cover spine area?
  18. And that should be the deciding factor for any individual!! Well said.
  19. When you have this kind of question the quickest way to really verify an answer is to just search for the book and look at a few images, especially slabbed images. Doing that for this book shows that, as @ThothAmon suggested, it is a printer defect. I am seeing this on a few 9+ CGC copies all blue label.
  20. I'm considering submitting more books to CGC but am leery after the plethora of finger bends and creases on my modern (1975-Present) submissions that had been pressed and sub'd by a VERY well known and respected presser here. So I am wondering if folks receiving recent submissions are still seeing these defects in their Modern books but also if they are seeing them in the Vintage (pre-1975) books. I have been seeing some of the recent posts about slab scuffs etc. but am primarily interested in the actual grade of the book and potential defects once they are in CGC's hands.. Should I decide to submit you can be sure I will imaging of each submission. Thanks folks!
  21. It is unfortunate that the name "Ken" is becoming more associated with a male "Karen" meaning a self-absorbed self-privileged person rather the the name of a series of lectures (Ken Talks)by experts in many fields!
