  1. I magnified t and it definitely does spell "exclusive" correctly. Sadly the OP silence is far too common around here.
  2. Well I watched the color version and was very pleased to see it was not Marvel Studios Color but much more Hanner Horror Technicolor with that 60s/70s feel! It was instandtly noticeable and made th color version actually just as cool as the B&W. Glas to see some creative minds are, well, creating.
  3. This saddens me a bit. I was hoping we would see that little easter egg in the intro voiceover "In our modern world, this is where monsters dwell" come to fruition with this year's Halloween offering and they would start pulling from the 70s Marvel horror books like Where Monsters Dwell. Since this was originally shot in color seems kind of a cheap way out. I have to wonder how much they actually had to work on this post production and if the amount of gore will remain in color. Still, I'll watch it and probably still love it, the way a parent loves a wayward child.
  4. Had my first transaction with Randall and if this is any indication will be looking for more. The Jumbo Comics #136 is, to my eye, much better than described. Communication was top notch. Really pretty GA book at a great price. Thanks Randall!
  5. Lying down scanning shows I have yet to watch and was amazed how much Star Trek is on Paramount+. Saw a promo and was initially reluctant as THE MENAGERIE is among my least favorite TOS episodes and the Talosians basically freaked me out. But dang if this pilot (see what I did there?!) didn't draw me right in. Thoroughly enjoyed this and I was amazed how well it drew from THE MENAGERIE. Am psyched I have a lot more ahead of me to explore (see what I did again?!)
  6. Well what comics do you have from the 1940s? Everything you list (maybe with the exception of Lulu) seem Bronze age or later.
  7. Or, as I believed happened with my horrible submission. most of the books came back with light bends. But I had them pressed and subbed by a premier not-CGC presser. It is VERY possible that this is mishandling during the grading. The accumulation of light bends, fingermarks etc had escalated noticeably with a LOT of complaints. CGC Mike took PMs with info from several folk here to pass along to CGC.
  8. I'm HOPING to make this one but seeing the ortho this Wednesday. May need a followup procedure on my hand so will take things a step at a time. Would be fun to get to the con again!.
  9. Still recovering form hand surgery so I've been board shy. Just saw this yesterday. There are some people on the boards, when you see their name, you automatically smile, even if you have not had a lot of interaction with them. The name DJPinkpanther67 was one of those.
  10. Well there IS a potential resale problem. Check CGC's own holder description here: CGC Holder Description The second point states: Superior Preservation and Security The holder’s sturdy outer plastic better resists impacts. The holder design uses precise pressure to lock the comic in place for enhanced protection, and the hologram affirming authenticity is now hot-stamped and embedded into the plastic for improved protection and increased security. Note they specify the hologram helps affirm the authenticity (bold/red mine to make it stand out). So some wag may question the authenticity, either before or, god forbid, after the purchase. I hate to take a "buy the sticker" stance but we all know this kind of thing can happen, especially in venues like eBay.
  11. Yes, classic marker color "touch". Purple all the way.
  12. Perfect explanation of the Qualified concept! When the first Overstreet Grading Guide came out 20+ years ago I was kind of shocked to see some defects that stated (paraphrasing here) "only allowable in VG or lower". I called Gary Carter and I posed this to him: "If you have a true NM book that has this one defect and put it up against the same book but with the usual accumulation of defects including the one in question, would that be an accurate assessment of the book's condition?" He literally took several seconds to think this over before responding. This led to a very interesting conversation overall and he intimated that we may see something to deal with this in the next issue.
  13. And even THAT is hard to chew! LOL The only good thing to come out of MANOS was the succession of Torgo appearances in various episodes, ranging from his first appearance as pizza delivery guy to his last as a poor man's "Gandalf the White"!
  14. Well my Christmas gift to myself was to binge it all (including a rewatch of the pilot.) Amazing how good it is! Principal Weems kept nagging at my brain until I realized she was also Brienne of Tarth from GOT! I am not the biggest fan of arcs in a series (probably started with my love of The Twilight Zone and Outer Limits etc as a kid and later to the anthology horror/sf comics) but THIS is how to do an arc. It actually had me engrossed and awaiting for the next revelation. Just a tremendously well done show. The most fun I've had since Werewolf by Night!
  15. I too was disgusted with many books in my last submission, with several books downgraded for finger bends and similar non-color breaking bends etc, all from handling. These came directly from a very well known presser/submitter to CGC and should not have been mishandled this way. It really sucked to wait nearly a year for many shoddily handled books to be returned with lower grades because of those issues. One book I had to remove from the case because they scrunched the bottom so bas it rippled right across the entire bottom of the book. Thankfully it came out ok and the rippling went away upon removal. So THAT was a complete waste of $$$. I sent the grader notes/serial numbers to Mike but have not heard anything. (Mike is cool though, don't get me wrong.) This new CGC is a far cry from the old one
  16. Couldn't get through the CW Teen feel of Disney+'s Ms. Marvel and stopped after 2 or 3 eps. On the other hand Captain Marvel (yes, the one with Brie "Don't Call Her Gorgonzola...She'll Flip The Eff Out!" Larson*) is one of my favorite MCU films from ANY phase. And I don't care WHO knows it!!! *Brie Larson: Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis (see it on youtube)
  17. It is and it isn't. It is pretty unique and has a few Marvel characters in it, just not the typical superhero characters. At 52 minutes it is well worth the watch. Hell, at 200 minutes it would be well worth the watch! And if you DO watch it an interesting aside - the majority of the special effects are practical and not CGI.
  18. To quote Dwight Frye as Renfield in the original Universal 1931 DRACULA: "Be guided by what HE says!"
