  1. You'll get a copy of GamePro back in the mail.
  2. Canucks have to chop down there own trees and process, or steal the prefab hotels off vagrants in downtown Toronto, and process.
  3. So why is CBS putting Supergirl in the same timeslot as Gotham on Fox ? I'm not a big fan of either. Some of the story moves too quick for me,,,, I am indeed old, but the thought of DC not tapping some one on the shoulder..
  4. Was there a live video feed posted? This is not the feed you are looking for. Move along. Old Guy! Squidmo2000
  5. Tempest in a tea cup. The outside world moved on while the comic book world moved on.
  6. Stu is everywhere, mostly. And Greggy is a legal begal accountant money maker, who lives in mom's basement, still has his virginity, he's not 40 yet, and has the most wonderfullest niftiest collection of comics in the time stream continuum. And if you shake his hand, he's just a nice guy.
  7. I suspect the real first Christmas list item for your shop that year was actually Superman #50, which caught everyone by surprise, and was an instant hit. Nevertheless, there's a substantial difference between April/May of 1990, and December of 1990. The book was definitely on the rise. I'm not so sure it was "$50" on the rise by that point, because none of the contemporary sources report any of that, but I won't quibble with you about that. Your experiences aren't reflected in any of the contemporary industry literature of the day. Again, not saying it didn't happen....but there's no contemporary reports of it, anywhere. I don't ask anyone to trust my anecdotes. I don't think anyone else should either. A lot of things happened, in a relatively short amount of time. Memories get fuzzy. You would be the first person I've ever heard get so excited by a single panel torso shot of a character, with nothing else to go on. You would be the first person I've ever heard get so excited by a single panel torso shot of a character, with nothing else to go on. Yes. It certainly got allot of retailers in New England to notice me.... Tough when your the new guy. I spec new material every week with solid mechanics built over years' but NOTHING beats my gut instincts. If I like something, I'm never afraid to roll with it. Epic wins... Disastrous losses... I love it. I had quite a load of NM 86, and was pumping it up as much as possible. I wanted it to out strip NM 87 and MCP 72.
  8. Nick, the brick wall background was the inspiration I used for my convention brick background in '91-'95 . I really pissed off a lot of the crowd of older dealers at our Houston Con, a 3 day show at the end of January by selling new books on my wall. As standard fare, only gold and silverage were on display, and folks that wanted new issues were left to either go back to comic book shops or to dig through boxes on the floor under tables. I put ALL of the X-tinction Agenda and Fall Of the Mutants issues on the wall @ $ 5.00 each, and sold dozens of copies each. I actually sold a New Mutants trio, was under the table pulling another set, and when I stood up, I had a customer holding out cash for the next set. Quite the fun.
  9. I heard you can request to have it removed. Your custom title that is.
  10. Uncanny Avengers. Is there a title called Mighty X-Men? Shhhhh ...
  11. If the movie is half as appealing as the airline commercial, I am in.
  12. That isn't necessarily true. I've been told by my carrier that the postmaster forwards her the pick up notices, so if the postmaster is out sick, etc., the carriers don't get those notes. Sounds like a carppy system, but I have no reason not to believe my carrier - she is one of the most honest, hard-working people I know. No, it's not necessarily true, and I am not a heartless worm, it's just that I have tried to have friendly conversations with my carrier, and she is most ardent in the fact that if it's over 20 lbs she isn't going to pick it up, and the little red flag on the side of my mailbox is not valid anymore. I've reported her a time or two recently when I did request a pickup as usual, and she still wouldn't pick up. She lives 65 miles from my neighborhood, and my old carrier tells me she is a cancer wherever she goes. Hopefully she'll get transfered to a route in Austin before long. Now that would just be fun for me. If I go out of my way to pursue a workable endeavor and you give me the middle finger thats just asking for me to mess with u Z ok, you've given me the finger before.... But as to my carrier, I am not the only one that has filed a grievance on her. She also doesn't scan in pickups when they have been requested. And I hear that she clubs baby seals, and sprays paraquat on all the lima bean crop as soon as they sprout.....
  13. Oh wow. Oh wow, that's good? or Oh wow, that's bad? oh WOW thats a crazy good for the seller ! I'd tell you about that seller, but I'm sure it'll dawn on you sooner than later....

  15. And yet, my local carrier didn't pick up my shipments yesterday, even though I had requested pickup the day before. MY carrier is not a good carrier.
  16. And Uncle Ben Affluxx doesn't shave thru the entire movie , right ? What is up with all the movie people with poor hygeine and grooming ? Dontcha just love all the questions ?
  17. Oh, I have to enter a teaser do I ? We will see... Just finished the first 10 issues of The Human Torch (2004) with the art by Skottie Young. I was not before, a fan of said Mr Young. I've got copies of most of his variant covers from the past few years, but that type is not reallly up my alley. I have to admit that the story line, though a little disjointed, was actually pretty good, but was either streatched out too far , or mashed together too tight. And Young's artwork did grow on me a little, but the soul patch on Storm's chin was a little too 1990 ... . I fail to remember who the writer is, kinda reflects my effort to learn. Make of this what you will. Some folks don't like maintaining such a list here, others pick and choose from it. YMMV. This list is probably better than the old one. A lot of people who didn't deserve to be on that old list were on there, thanks to certain people plainly disliking other people - not that they were bad eBayers by any means, but that someone didn't personally like them and that got them put on the "master list". (Thanks, CAL.) That's why I had my old thread totally deleted. Some were mad at me for it, but at the very least, my name and others who didn't deserve to be there aren't on that list above. Also, you may want to add vikescomics to your personal list. IDK how active he is anymore, but he was on the old list, and was recommended for it by numerous people. *EDIT* - I forgot to mention, after asking numerous times for the auction to be cancelled, innerjoycollectibles paid for the comic they won finally, last night early. Move him to/from your own lists as you deem fit. I have kept him blocked.
  20. Don't think you could press that and improve it much. Bingo, those books aren't pressable, stock is the cardboard type, and you can't get enough pressure on the corners to get anything out. Good price though FWIW, got a few in, they pressed out really well. Gonna grade them now. Found a couple in old backstock. Still not slabish able, even with a quality press.
  21. I would think that the shopping cart used by Waldenbooks, Barnes and Noble, et al, to stock the magazine sections would deplete the 9.8 availability by 25 %, and being on the stand at any convenience store or supermarket / actual newstand, makes getting a 9.8 less than 10 %. I've been matching nice news stands and direct editions for sale as a pair. Slow sales but the idea that your collection is not complete without is spreading. Even long time collectors / sellers like me are working on getting both sets.
