  1. Been a while since I have sold here or anywhere really. I did sell other copies of Eternals 1 here about a year or so ago (I have more but only one 9.8). Just bought a piece of original art and need to recoup some cash.

eBay ID is xmen94.  Been ages since I sold anything there though...all the tax stuff is too complicated!

    Eternals #1 CGC 9.8 OW/W - $2450

    *NEW*  Eternals #1 CGC 9.0 OW/W - $230

    *NEW*  Eternals #1 CGC 8.5 OW/W - $195

    Eternals #5 CGC 9.8 White - $675

Dr. Strange #1 CGC 9.6 White - SOLD

    Conan #61 30 cent CGC 9.4 White - $150

    Conan #62 30 cent CGC 9.6 White - SOLD

    3. US only please
    4. I will pay shipping and insurance via USPS priority mail for orders over $500.  Below $500 just add $10 for shipping for up to three books.  Books will ship out within 4 days of payment
    5. No returns
    6. Payment by PayPal Goods and Services only.
    7. I will consider a slight discount if you want to bundle the Eternals # 1 with any other book(s).

    I think that covers it.

    Thanks for looking!

Economics 101 Supply and Demand.  Given the vast graded supply when demand dips or drops the going rate will follow :)

Luckily got mine for $5 'round turn of the century.

Same here...haven't bothered to dig it out and send it in.  I think the guy I bought from had a stack of ~50 pristine copies back in the day!  but...that was 25 years ago probably.

  3. Just had mine graded and came back 5.5 OW/W.  Trying to use this book as part of a deal with a local dealer who has a JIM 83 in the same grade.  What do you think the trade value is for the FF5?  Could change dramatically in the near term...I just lost my crystal ball. :)

    Thoughts?

So, short story long, The first title I completed was Journey Into Mystery/Thor. #107 was the last one I found, and I did quite the in-store happy dance.

I went for JIM/Thor as well...but figured there was always time to get 83.  Nope.  But I have all but ~5 issues from 84-200.  That is a great run....and they were dirt cheap for so long in the 90s when I was putting the run together.  I did complete FF 1-100.  My #1 literally has a band-aid on the back cover sealing a rip.  But hey...it's complete and it's in the collection!

  5. Picked this up today at a local con.  Got home and got to wondering if maybe this was trimmed.  Impossible to really see in scans, but the edges on the cover right, top and bottom do exhibit some "Marvel chipping".  Book also has slight rust and slight rust migration. Main question is...was this trimmed?  Either way...first thing I did when I got home was read it.  Fun book!

  6. FF1-100 (but broken up at the moment since I got rid of 2 and 3)  this one is lower grade...took about 3-4 years or less.  I probably will not complete it with 2 and 3 again...thinking of getting rid of FF5.

    Conan 1-200 and beyond...still intact

    X-Men1-400 (I don't have #1 any more though...so 2-400)  this one took about 15 years

Almost have a complete JIM/Thor run from 83 to 200...but missing 83  and maybe 5 others.

I think I was close to a complete Dr. Strange run from ST110 thru the Colan/Brunner series...but I got rid of ST110...so no more.

I can't hold on to books when they get too valuable...too many other cool things out there!

  7. Saw this on eBay today and made an offer at $415 against a $499 asking price. How crazy am I??  I love this book...and I know that Toth saw it as one of his masterpieces.

    Hot Wheels #5 CGC 9.4

Toth once said, "If I hated a -script, I couldn't send it back to the editor.  I was capable of doing a "throwaway" job, to just "get it out," not see it anymore!  But, if really interested in doing my very best, not repeating myself, not falling back on easy ways out, because this -script warranted better-than-average effort, I'd give 110%."

Toth did this entire book...writing, penciling and inking.  I'd say he gave 110%.

There are 18 graded copies...4 in 9.4 none higher.
