Just to add some recent sales to this.

Most recently a 9.4 came up for sale although it sold high due to being the only SS on census and sketched . It had a total of 30 bids , although shortly after it was relisted for $3499 and has not sold.

I have been tracking sales on these for a while now and the MOS 20 cheapest sold $29 highest was $220 both fell into the VF/NM average falling around $150. The AC 686 has been between $60 and $160 average falling about $120 and the ADV 499 has been between $32 and $155 average falling about $60 all of these prices are for raw. Only one of these has shown up graded 9.8 recently and the ADV 499 cgc 9.8 sold for just over $800 by offer on Ebay. However there hasn't been a whole lot of them to truly establish a real value and easily could sell for more or less.

That's the same target pack. My first photo was two different packs side by side, the second the backs. The target 2 pack , and the different comics super pack found in drugstores and small retailers. I have seen other target 2 packs , but none yet that contained the DCU other than this time and tide Aquaman. Also noticed that I didn't include a photo of the back to school pack.

So far distribution seems to have cast a wide net on these. We saw above that they produced the 20 , 16 , 10 pack bricks that seem to have been distributed through the larger retailers ( Walmart, Costco, Kmart , Sam's Club, etc.) In edition the book stores, and toy stores carried 2 packs and collector sets. Which have come from Kay Bee Toys, Toys R Us , HPB , BAM There have also been found some 2 packs (only one DCU one bullet logo) Target pack The toy pack that contained a DCU and some of the multi out of print comic bags and back to school packs that were found in smaller retailers ( dollar general, Walgreens, eckards , five and dime, etc.

I would call them, however if I am not mistaken they no longer grade them. The did originally for some of the older issues. ( Action Comics ) however now I believe they no longer accept them. I would definitely call. Let us know if you get a definitive answer as I have a few I have considered.

Sorry to hear this one. I have bid on a few of these issues( No win) . So far according to eBay I have seen a total of 7 sell. ( Not sure how many of these may have been like your issues with it) They have been in various condition from seller described high grade to the most recent with creases on corners and bends. I have been watching them as Kirk had a post discussing the rarity and looking through cgc there has only been 1 graded (9.2) so far , as compared to the op Batman 2nd print newsstand that currently has 28, of which 1 is the 9.4 SS currently listed on eBay.

That is referred to as a preview or Black and White Advance copy. They were sent to distributors , sales , and sometimes stores. So you could see what the comic was like as well as read the story . Some are rarer than others. Earlier versions were referred to as ashcans. This due to the fact they were to be destroyed.

Just realized you said last year.. ok. I do not know what happened a year ago with it, however 5/2 it sold for a best offer of $800 plus shipping.

Guess who ever won the first with the $800 offer must have flaked as it showed as sold. Then he must have relisted. Which unfortunately has become too common place recently on eBay.

My post right before yours shows a screenshot. It sold via best offer. And when I sorted by sold high to low it fell between $815-$825. By this the best offer would have been roughly $800 + shipping.

Today and new record for these. That book sold with best offer. Filtering by sold highest to lowest it sold about the $800 mark plus shipping.
