  1. Thanks Alton. I have 3 grading certificates, so I'm going to try to buy 1 more and send them in.
  2. I decided today, to take a couple of books out of their mylars, so I figured I'd take a group shot.
  3. So what do you grade these in hand? I saw the forum grades. I give them both a 4.5
  4. I just recieved these Action Comics. I will be sending them to CGC in a couple of months.
  5. Sorry to interupt the current subject, but here's a couple I'd like to contribute to this thread.
  6. I'd like first chance on the early actions 4.0 and better.
  7. Lets put up a collection of funds, so he can buy a camera?
  8. Actually, not. My GA books fit in a single short box, with a few stragglers in other boxes that may or may not be considered GA based on what the definition of GA is. Now my atomic age and 50s books... I actually have my comic stand set up in my liviing room but, alas, no digital camera. There was another party a few years back where 3 of us put together a set of DC greytone comics and placed them on a stand. The result was a floor to ceiling display of greytones starting with almost all of the ones from the 50s, followed by most from the first 3 years of the 60s. Unfortunately, it was recorded on videotape which has been recently taped over. I was thinking of putting together a montage via photoshop as way of contributing something new to thread. There must be a camera shop open tonight.
  9. Very nice Mark. We will all look forward to seeing these gems, and the rest of your collection in group shots. Mike
  10. These arrived this week. I have posted them in 2 other threads, but I wanted to contribute to this thread.
  11. who was the seller? You can see the spine clearly takes it out of anything in very fine range. PM if you remember who the seller was. Great books! Here's a link to the auction. You will see on about page 3 of his feedback, where I left my first Neg. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...N%3AIT&rd=1
  12. I graded the book before sending it in. It is very solid, with off-white pages. Right on top of where it says april, there is a tear measuring 3/4" right on the money. CGC did a great job, making sure it didn't show. I was very pleased with the book. CGC was a little hard on the #99 IMO It has white pages, with no tears. I like the idea of buying raw, and looking the book over before sending it to CGC. I am going to be very careful, and search for books with nice colors. BTW the seller gave the #99 a 8.5
  13. I just got these back from CGC yesterday. This is not the first thread I have posted them in, but hey, I am glad to have books again. Action Comics #83 Intro to Hocus and Pocus Off-white pages Action Comics #99 First small logo issue White pages

  15. I just wanted to thank you Alton, for starting one of the best threads in my 14 months with the boards. I am expecting a package from CGC today. I may post a picture of my group of two. I would also like to thank everyone for posting their great collections. Every one of them is most impressive. Mike
  16. That's a quick $10,000 flip. It's the same book Bill Hughes still has listed on his site with a sold sticker of $13,500. Unbelievable. Thats over guide for an 8.0
  17. It makes sense. Why would you put your comics against a rough side, when you have a smooth side?
  18. Jes nearmint. You should buy a couple of mine. The #29 would fit nicely in your collection.
