CGC, Could you please tell me the status of submission # 3965413? This submission has disappeared from my CGC Submission Tracking page. The last time I checked its status it showed as "scheduled for grading," but now it doesn't show up at all. I am wondering why it disappeared. This submission was received on 11/11/21. I am attaching a PDF of the original acknowledgement for your reference.

This is actually painfully accurate for those of us who have followed this and asked repeatedly about the progress of it over the past year. Basically every month it's said to be coming within a month or the following month. This has been going on for a long time. The can keeps being kicked down the road, so I actually wouldn't rule out trolling at this point. There's a rumor going around that CGC is gatekeeping the pop report because they can't publish it until there are actually a few 10s to include in it.

I would submit my 10s for re-grade just to get the sub grades, but I'm afraid CGC would damage the cards while cracking their own slabs, resulting in lower grades. @CGC Mike Is there any guarantee that if we submit our 10s to get sub grades, that we will at least get back a 10? It would really suck to pay twice for the same card to be graded just to get it back with a lower grade.

@Jennifer F. Could you please update me on the KultureCity custom labels? I heard that they are almost sold out. Is that true? They have only been available for a few months. Thank you

Well said. Poke Knowledge's video cites some obvious red flags with CGC's grading. Cards cut from the same row on the same sheet (because they're 4 of the same card from the same Skybridge them deck) receiving different centering sub-grades, etc. Just obvious stuff. I truly hope CGC is trying address some of these issues because I want CGC to succeed so bad but right now they're just killing themselves.

When PSA opens up its lower tiers again in 2022, CGC is going to take a hit. The grading market isn't going to reward a company that 1) puts slabs into the market that command much lower prices at the same grade than its competitors, and 2) gives much harsher grades than its competitors to the point of being laughable. Will be curious to see if CGC responds by rewarding more 10s. Of course, that would devalue existing CGC 9s and 9.5s. CGC has really put themselves in a bad spot no matter what they do. I've also already seen a ton of Dragon Ball Super cards coming back with 9.5s that would have earned BGS gold label 10s. DBS collectors are learning their lessons too.

So I guess this sale of 10.5k makes me feel a little better about my purchase. Now just hoping this book climbs in value as the years roll on.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on an 8.5. There's a pencil marking on the back cover that I think can be cleaned off and the indent hopefully pressed out and I'm hoping that will bump the grade. A regrade and bump to a 9.0 would be a boon.

Jennifer, I have a few questions I would like to ask you: 1) Can I go ahead and create an order even if I won't be shipping the books to CGC for 6 months? I am asking because the way I understand it is that as long as an order is created for a custom label, CGC will continue to be able to use that labels for orders already in the system even if the books are received in by CGC after the label has been discontinued. Is this correct? 2) Do you have any idea how long the custom KultureCity label will be available?

@Jennifer F. When a book is submitted to be reholdered, does it go through the grading process all over again? And if so, is it likely that the grade might change? I just bought a book signed by Stan the man and want to get it reholdered with a KultureCity signature label, but I'm scared it will come back with a lower grade.

Even if an increase was already priced in (which I doubt it was), I think we are at the point now where issues like DD1 are just going to keep steadily climbing over time. Hard to see them retracing for any appreciable length of time at this point. What these books are going for now seems crazy expensive to us, but just wait and see what it'll be going for in 10 years. My DD1 is at CGC and should be back in my hands by EOY. It's probably a 3.0 if I had to guess. Bought it back in the late 00s and thought prices were crazy then. Wish I'd known then what I know now and I would've for sure forked out some $ to get an actual nice copy.

I bought #7 tonight. This is a book I've wanted for a long, long time to complement my #1 and when I saw this one signed by Stan Lee (and from the collection of his own personal tailor! lol) I couldn't pass it up. Did I overpay? Probably. But that's okay because this is one that won't soon come along again. Gonna send this off to have it ReHoldered with a KultureCity label, then I'll post pics of it in that thread.

Anyone know what the FMV of an 8.5 is now? GoGollect jumps from 8.0 to 9.0 and the difference is over 10k between those two grades. Would 10-11k be a good price for an 8.5?

When experiences are bad enough, and frequent enough, you quickly lose interest. Maybe CGC will address their issues and get things sorted out in years to come. But I'm going to take a hiatus until I see evidence that there has been improvement.

I lived and I learned. It's not a mistake I will make again. I posted about it here with the hopes that others will read it and not make the same mistake. I won't be submitting any more cards to CGC, crossover or otherwise. I have just had too many bad experiences.

Yes sir. I probably should have included this picture also. My only gripe with this label is that the key notes go on the back of the label instead of the front.

It's just KultureCity's logo. And yeah, the CGC sticker is right on the edge of it. It's not covering but maybe a millimeter of it.

I just got back my first book with this label. I kinda like it. I think it will look good displayed with the other 8 books I’m still waiting on. Let me know what you all think!

Actually I said FedEx in my post but I actually used UPS, and I didn't do any insurance options. I actually don't remember seeing any options for insurance when I checked out, but maybe it was an oversight on my part.
