  1. Great Richie Rich and Archie issues (thumbs u I also love that Batman cover, fantastic stuff.
  2. Anyone have a #1 first print issue available?
  3. IMO western comics have been under appreciated for a long time. Mid to high grade are really hard to find, heck older issues are tough to find in any condition. I started a western thread in the general comic section a few years ago. You should search it out it is a really great thread and contains a lof of great covers and info.
  4. Glad to see this thread get some new life. Great books.
  5. Did someone here win this? How did I miss this at such a great price http://cgi.ebay.com/G-I-Combat-87-May-1961-No-Reserve-DC-Comics-LOOK_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a13Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem3a4e1f8c2aQQitemZ250418793514QQptZLHQ5fDefaultDomainQ5f0QQsalenotsupported
  6. Hmmm interesting, I though there was all kinds of Canadian price variants. I still have a lot of comics that I bought throughout the years including a couple big collections I bought from the US. Probably not worth my time to even look. I would have just traded them or sold them since I don't collect price variants, no big deal. Thanks for the info. That means you'll likely have a grand total of NONE, as these price variants were only distributed to select US cities.
  7. I bet I have a pile of price variants and don't even know it. I have collected comics for a long time and I live in Canada, I can only assume that in my thousands of comics there are some price variants. Hmmm were to begin checking haha.
  8. Very cool. I never saw one of those before, when did you get it and what issues do it cover?
  9. The Wolverine #1 has such a great cover. 9.6 is s decent grade considering the popularity of the character and that its a black cover.
  10. Maybe neither deserves a thread, but oh well as long as it don't get a sticky. I was just pointing out that there really isn't very much material out there to variant an appreciation thread. I have never read the RASL series but I have the HC for the first Mouse Guard. I loved it and look forward to the second book (if it ever gets made). I will have to reread the first one to remember the characters and what was happening.
  11. I really like the series but as mentioned earlier, its easier to appreciate something if it actually came out. Is there really enough Mouse Guard stuff out there to have an actually "Mouse Guard Appreciation Thread"? A handful of issues and a few sketches should make this a cool 1-2 page thread.
  12. The beauty of this hobby is it offers so many different options for collectors. You can collect to read, complete runs, high grades, specific artist/writers, themes (bondage, dogs, girls, horses, planes, western, horror, war etc..), titles, signature series and the list goes on and on. The hobby is also great for every budgeted collector.
  13. Comics are ment to be read and enjoyed. I love buying mid grade books and being able to read them and enjoy all of the fantastic art work. I understand why people buy slabs but that isn't for me. I would rather own a dozen mid grade comics that contain great stories and art work then one high grade book. Its too bad that you had to sell so much if your stuff before you realized that you made a mistake. The bonus is you have the high grade books which will be easy to sell. You can easily flip them and start buying back some of the issues you originally sold.
  14. I would love to have one but they are out of my range. I have a 3rd print
  15. Very nice. Minor spine roll but other wise its a beauty.
  16. Whats happening with this thread haha. Once a super hot one now its dead. I love reading this thread but you guys have been a let down over the past few months.
  17. The movie may have increased the demand and popularity of Joe books but it has also increased the supply available. As usual it seems that everyone who owns a Joe book is trying to sell their books and double and triple the normal selling price. Movie hype seems to do strange silly things to comic collectors.
  18. Scott that really sucks. I am sure that you will cross paths with him again at a future show, then you can demand your money back or for him to produce a sketch.
  19. The market is getting flooded, collectors a grading these like crazy with plans of unloading them and making big profits. After the movie hype dies down simple supply and demand should make a lot more of these available then is needed. Then buyers should be able to buy them at much more reasonable prices..
  20. Here is another GI Joe oddball item. Probably not very rare but regardless I like it and am the original owener of it.
  21. Anyone have any of these issues available at low or mid grades? I would love to read them as they were recommended by you but I don't want to spend a lot on high grades as I only want them to read. Anyone suggest any Sgt Rock books? OAAW 215 OAAW 244 OAAW 218 WWT 10 GI Combat 151 SSWS 164 Our Fighting Forces 155
  22. Beautiful stuff in this post. I have never read a "Crow" comic, guess I should buy a TP and see if I like it.
  23. I have one somewhere, I will try and find it.
  24. I love the cover on this comic, how is the story and interior art?
