  1. Its been a pretty darn good week. I picked up a nice Kirby page from the new stuff posted at Romitaman.com, and I picked up this CGC 9.4 copy of Bone #1 (I've been looking for a copy in any condition for a while) today from Grails in the Forum Only Selling section of the boards. Thanks Grails!

  2. Hey guys,

I just got this in. Its by Wayne England (he does a bunch of D&D and Magic stuff) and it was used in the recent Spell Compendium for a spell called Briar Web.

    P.S. - Let's keep my status as a D&D fan on the DL. smile.gif

And no, not that kind of DL.

Very nice piece, I like how the vines are treated. thumbsup2.gif

Are they painted on a matt board or is that all on one illustration board?

The vines are painted on the same board as the main scene - it makes for a pretty cool effect.

  3. This may not be a popular opinion, but I believe that separate inks are no better than color guides. They're an enhanced photocopy/lightbox. Ink only pieces would add value to the original pencils if included in a purchase, but on their own, I'll pass on every one I come across.

Agreed - the separate inks are of little worth to me on their own. I don't buy them.

Honestly, I'd probably buy a color guide before buying a page of separated inks.

  4. Drooling over that Red Son Superman vs Bizzaro sequence. Very nice!

    It almost never happened

I sold him p.35 but it took 4.5 weeks to arive when it was supposed to take two.

Freekign post office. I sent a page to France that arrived faster that the page but it did arrive.

I was sooo worried about that - I already had the other 6 pages in the sequence, and it would have really sucked to have the last part lost forever in the mail. Thanks for selling it Ares!

  5. Hey Guys,

I'm in the process of a major CAF update (I haven't scanned anything onto the site for about 3 months). Here's an overview of what has been added:

    - 12 pages from Superman: Red Son #1 & #2 by Dave Johnson (including the entire 7 page fight sequence from #1 between Superman and his Bizarro Clone)

    - A John Byrne Splash featuring the Beast from X-men: The Hidden Years #5

    - The Wizard World Variant Cover to Uncanny X-men #429 by Philip Tan

    - A Polaris Vs. Havok page from Uncanny X-men #426 by Philip Tan

    - A page from Tomb of Dracula #12 by Gene Colan featuring Blade in two panels during his second appearance

    - A page from the recent Incredible Hulk #92, the first issue of the Planet Hulk storyline, which features the Hulk's first foray into the arenas of Sakaar and the first appearance of several key characters from the series

    - A Michael Netzer page from Kamandi #45

My CAF gallery should be updated tonight and hopefully I'll get to post some pictures of some of the pages in this thread. Thanks and enjoy! - Keith

  6. I've normally been a "modern" collector, getting the new up and coming artists before they hit the "big time" and can't afford their stuff. But occasionally I get lucky and score some stuff from my copper comic readin' days that I can't pass up.

One is a vintage Dazzler page that features a dog battling Spider-Woman. The other is probably the only decent Jim Lee Uncanny X-Men page I could ever afford (Unless you like spending 3 C's on a full page of the Superman Logo or just a small portion of Batman's cape :-p )

Nice pages! I've been meaning to get a Lee X-men page ... thumbsup2.gif
