Hey guys,
I'm in the NEW Yahoo Miracleman group, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/marvelman_miracleman , and in the relatively new google Miracleman group, http://groups.google.com/group/Miracleman , and the members of those lists have put together (and are still adding too ) a comprehensive Miracleman appearance list. One of the members found a relatively obscure appearance in which Miracleman appears in the background of Storm: Chronicles of Pandarve Book 4 (this was a book by Don Larsen, one of the Silver Age Marvelman artists). There is a scan of this image on the yahoo group site. So, if you want to keep up with stuff like this (and possibly help out with the checklist), join the groups! - Keith
Keith, can you show that list here please?
Additionally, what the f*** is going on with all this Jon Junner stuff and Dez Skinn, can you give a summary as I've lost the will to live...
I'll post the list later on tonight when I can dig it up. Also, I've given up on the old Yahoo group with the Junner and Skinn stuff. I don't read the stuf anymore and I terminated my membership earlier this week.

Hey guys -
Here's my latest pickup. The first four pages to the first issue of the new Jonah Hex series.
A nice little contained story by penciller Luke Ross. They are going to look great framed in sequence on my wall.
Got these from Spencer at the NYCcon. I picked up a few other things too - check the link to my CAF gallery below.
-m
So friggin' sweet! I can't wait until he gets the Ross section on his site up and running. Its gonna hard to make it until 3/27 when he's taking orders again...

Got this on the way from Canada....
The FINAL BLOW!!
Alright, enough childishness . Awesome cover - I LOVE flash stuff from this time period. - PK

Thanks Keith....I loved it too ! - And i figured it was a no brainer at the price.....course, I had to have a sacrifice, but that's okay.......it's all about the food chain !
Hehe - I miss the bachelor days when food was the first thing to go in order to buy comics/OA . I would eat cheap in a heartbeat!!!!

Just added another piece....Outstanding Crisis 7 tribute piece that was published in Toy Fare # 90. -

Hey guys,
I actually got these pages in the middle of last month, but this is the first chance I've had to post them. As you guys probably know (if I haven't bugged everybody about it enough), I've been looking for some pages from Superman: Red Son for the past several months. Its a great story - if you haven't read it - do yourself a favor and pick it up. These are my first two pages from the series - Issue 33 p. 41 and issue #3 p.42 - the Death and funeral of President Luthor (Pencils by Killian Plunkett and inks by Walden Wong). If you have an eagle eye you might be able to spot the Green Lantern ring on President Luthor's hand in the final panel of p.41 . I received them in a trade with Walden Wong, and he was absolutely great to deal with. I'm looking for any other pages from the series, so if you have any you want to sell/trade or have any info as to where I could find some, please let me know! - Keith

I agree... that's great stuff. And panel 2 isn't a typical Kirby panel either. I prefer this to some run of the mill hero page.
I agree - I like this compared to the lesser superhero stuff he did. You picked up a really, really nice piece.
-
Picked these 2 pieces up from artist Dan Hipp . Famed for his work on "The Amazing Joy Buzzards" from Image.
Daredevil Commission:
The Amazing Joy Buzzards (vol.2) #1, pages 30 & 31
Dan is available for commissions...give him a buzz and tell him Hart sent ya!
I love Hipp's stuff - those are some really nice pieces!

Thanks to pkveronese sending me the link to the ebay auction when he saw this up and to my wife for buying it for me, I now have my first Cosmic Odyssey page. Hopefully there will be more to join it.
By the way, it's oversized art at 13x19.5 which is kind of cool.
I like the it .

As to the new figure...
sadly on the Newsarama story I have been either blasted or loved...
not to tough to find my post as it is the first...jonjesper
I stated it looked like Rob Liefeld with a Day Glo jacket ala Grant Morrison X-Men run...
horrible figure...so sad
It really does...this figure is totally pathetic. When will McFarlane ever get tired of being sued?
-
My consolation cover since I can't get one of the 3 I REALLY WANT
I think I got lucky on this because it was listed as "UNKNOWN COVER" featuring Doctor Doom and had no pic. Becuase of those two factors I think it sat long enough for me to get it.
That cover is super cool .I love the "Obey ______ " theme. Where did you get it?

Its supposed to be McFarlane's "Man of Miracles" figure (based on the "Man of Miracles" app. in the Image 10th Anniversary HC and in Spawn #150). Its for real as far as I can tell. Here's a link to its page on the Spawn website :
http://spawn.com/toys/product.aspx?product=2952 .
This is just sad. Surely there has to be legal ramifications to this. It seems as if he can make this figure though (which I would assume would be in regular stores like the Spawn figures - i.e. Traget/Walmart and the like), Todd is flaunting the rights. Where's the legal action from the Gaiman camp? Is there any possible recourse? If this makes it onto typical store shelves, it would seem (at least in the public eye), that MM would be seen as a McFarlane property.
I'm disgusted. I would rather see MM shelved permanently (with no future of being reprinted, etc.) than to return like this. It hurts to say this, but that's how I feel. It seems like McFarlane is bastardizing a character we care about just for the heck of it. I'm ticked - I should probably go to bed and just be mad in the morning. Talk to you guys tommorow - Keith

Miracleman sells great but my 9.0 signature series copy signed by neil gaiman won't even sell for 70 bucks. I mean I always hear how well it sells. It is a great series. and I would kill for some Miracleman art ( I even have 1 sketch of miracleman) but I don't see issues selling for a whole lot unless it is a full set or the 3d 2d comic.
What sketch do you have?
-
-
BTW - the MM market never seems to weaken -
A run of 1 to 24 went for an astonishing £287 / $500+ recently on ebay!
That's £67 more than my HG set went for last year - and this lot was only mid-grade!
Chris, any update on the notes?
Wow! That's about double what they were going for his summer - that's some big money.
-
Has anybody on Comic Art-L discussed this? If not, it might be worth a post this weekend.
-
I appreciate that Mark turns up lots of (otherwise) important pieces of art, and it has ocurred to me that not many people may want to participate in this discussion, on the off-chance it might prejudice possible future deals with Mark?
For myself, I think this definitely needs to be highlighted to any potential buyers or would-be traders.
For what it's worth Terry, I'd agree with you. Your comment prompted me to recognise that your conclusions might seem a fait accompli but I wouldn't like to think I kept mum just cause it might queer a future deal.
What if he's simply accepted someone else's sales pitch and now the possibilty that his rare score is in fact just a piece of paper is too horrible to contemplate? Of course you potentially putting him on notice as to authenticity issues puts things on shaky ground for a future transaction.
Has anyone asked for the provenance of the piece(s)?
joseph
I would like to know as well. He's had them on his site for quite a while, and these are pretty big claims. I would just liketo see some data either way.

Just won it last night

It is a nice shot. One of the last issues from the series and a Donna Troy app too! Really cool!
