  1. Hey Guys I have my ASM 2 graded by cgc already but I have always thought that CGC was being too generous for what this book got and what it looks like so as a test I just want to know what you guys think it should be and then I will compare now don't get me wrong I trust cgc but I'm just curious thanks, ps I will say that it was graded with OW/W pages

Doesn't the book have to be witnessed in the presence of a CGC rep?  Or did they just take your photos, match it up with the sig and agree that was enough to confirm the authenticity?

he probably took a pic right before CGC graded it, your allowed to do that

Interior signatures aren't super common as they once were...in fact I'm betting one would get shot down for asking for one in a recent Stan Lee signature line.  I was able to snag one for my collection years ago and now I consider myself lucky.  I got this at Dragon Con in 2010.  Stan happily signed with a ballpoint pen and I was sure to snap a couple pictures before sending it off for grading.  In retrospect, I wish I had done a few more books in this manner.

But in 2010 stan was still signing nicely on many books with the exception of a few I do believe it was around 2015 that his signature started to reall6 become sloppy, but I have seen some sloppy examples from all the way back to 2013 so I may be wrong, but even in 2015 you could still get a legible sig out of him but now a days good luck even getting this ST of stan right ? also no hate toward someone stan we all love him even if he ruins a few books lol

Here it is...when Stan signed it a few years back beside Jack's signature, he ripped the page a little bit with the pen tip, which is why he signed it again at the top of the page:

gorgeous, a true grail congratulations on owning that beauty, do ou know the story behind why the 2 stan sigs, i always thought it would be cool to get stan to sign the 2 pager he first worked on... would be interesting. Love it!

Why can't Stan use a thinner Sharpie like Tom Palmer did?  Or at least use a new sharpie every once in a while.

in all honesty, yes we make fun of stan's ability to sign books in these threads but in all honesty it is truly not his fault, it is his handlers fault. he's 95 has been signing for decades now and has to sign thousands of books per convention, i mean they overwork him and it is not fair for him or for us, the fan's who because he is so tired of signing he can't sign right anymore. now for the problem with him signing on faces, i think it is when you give stan a pile of books to sign all at once, he most likely picks picks one spot to sign and quickly just gets through them all, signing without thought and wherever his pen lands (sometimes on the face) the problem with that horrible AF15 that he signed don the face, the worse stan sig ever guaranteed... i would say it was the guys fault, why on earth would you have a AF15 6.0, an easy 40k + book have signed by Stan just like that, like if i had taht copy, i would be pretty sure to tell stan or his handlers where i want it signed and if they dont listen, go up to stan and just tell him, he will do it if you ask, that is if he hears you... so as much as i love these threads by seeing beatiful books ruined, it is true on Stan being a legend no matter what. and i hope he feels better. Did Wolverine have a body shot( not like a shadow or a piece of claw)?

    Was he named?

    Then I rest my case.

i see what you mean and i respect it... but it is one panel so it is considered a cameo

Can we please stop all the nonsense, and proclaim Hulk 180 Wolverines actual 1st appearance.

appearing as a cameo on the last panel does not make it his first appearance, it is like saying that Detective comics 39 is Mud faces first appearance because he appears on the last panel, or Batman's first appearance should not be Tec 27 and rather the last panel in Action comics 12... It just is not. respect the fact that CGC even respects 180 enough to say first cameo appearance, Hulk 181 is Wolverines first appearance, and in case you were wandering that i am just saying this because i want to keep Hulk 181 his first, this is being said from someone who does not care for wolverine, he's just not for me and because of that i don't want a copy of either 180 or 181 in my collection, but everyone has their own opinions so i will leave it to CGC to decide.

For Amazing Spiderman Annual #1, it currently says 1st Appearance of the Sinister Six, and then lists of two or three lines of pinups. What about instead of the pinups, this info was listed:

    4th Doctor Octopus, 3rd Vulture, 2nd Sandman, 2nd Electro, 2nd Kraven, 2nd Mysterio

I've seen references to a characters 2nd and 3rd appearances many times on other early silver age books.

also it has a pinup of the green goblin so technically it is the "second cameo appearance" of the Green Goblin... also it is Electro's 3rd app. since his second is in DareDevil 2 and it is the Sandman's 3rd app. since he appearance in strange tales 115, but i agree that Spidey annual 1 has a lot of things going for it, it does feature early appearances of almost all of Spidey's greatest villains, great pin ups and artwork by Steve Ditko, some great cameo appearances of the FF, X-men and doctor strange, ext. but is also the first sinister six, great book and very underrated, also a "classic" spidey cover
