So what happens when you pass away and your family needs money. A photo of a nobody with a signed photo Stan Lee will be a hard sell. It's like a personalization hard sell. Think of your family and not yourself.

As far as a Lee signature on a letter with Ditko. It sounds cool, but he has been signing over autographs lately on a more frequent ratio. That is a risk you take.

they can sell this one once i pass

Just because something is scarce doesn't necessarily mean that a lot of people will want it.

Take, say, an ordinary piece of paper with Lee and Ditko and even Kirby's signature on it - it has no value except to a signature collector.  Perhaps if they all signed on a staff picture from Bullpen Bulletin that might mean something to more than a few people, but I'm not sure a Ditko letter signed by anyone other Steve Ditko himself would hold any value to very many people.  [I understand that all you need is one other person who wants it, but even with the webz that person isn't always easy to find.]

But I'm with you all the way on getting Lee to sign a personal item, for the value of the memory to you personally.

    agreed

Go with getting a signed comic. Your family will have a difficult time  selling a signed photograph of yourself with him

its not to sell its for me to keep, the ditko letter would also be for me to keep even though the letters value would be a good investment i mean i dont think i've ever seen ditko, lee signatures on one thing before

  4. thanks for the responses i do have other ASM keys which would be cool signed like issue 5, and 14 (first green goblin) but i want something signed for me, not to ever sell just to have always for me. anyways i got this beauty signed last year at megacon, it is my only SS Stan sig book and i'm ok with just the one,

  5. i recently met stan for the first time in Megacon 2017 Orlando and thought he would never come back to florida yet he is making a final florida appearance to support hurricane Irma funds i bought a special package that entitles me to a Q&A, selfie, and private signing with Stan with one autograph, but i need help on what i should get him to sign, should i get him to sign

    A. a 16x24 photo of me and stan as a photo op and since its a private signing probabley ask him to write something extra like "excelsior!"

    B. a Steve Ditko signed letter i received many years ago where he sent me a dedicated letter, (i do feel that stan might ruin the letter)

(p.s this is for my persanal collection and even though i know the photo op wont be worth anything it will be worth soemthing for me.)

    I think it looks ok.

I don't typically like to have signatures on my comics. If I do get them signed I prefer it on the inside splash page rather than the cover.

The Stan Lee signatures I have:

    1. Page of Spider-Man art I did

    2. Interior page from the very first comic I ever bought, FF 112:

    3. my mint un-used Marvel Value Stamp Booklet:

i agree on the splash page is a much better place to get signed and i would but he was signing so fast there were not any time to get him to switch to a pen and signed inside and the risk of him opening the book and creasing the spine with a lower grade copy while he signs... and it looks horrible when he signed the splash page in sharpie, yuk!

    cool sigs though

Why is that book only a 2? lol it looks nice.

I have stan Sig on an amazing fantasy 15 but only because it was low grade and on that book people pay more with the signature in the low grades. Same with xmen 1...my brother has a 1.8 signed and people pay more for it that way.

    thanks

Here's the thing...Stan is getting old.

His eye sight is not what it use to be.  Rightly or wrongly, he has hundreds of books heaped upon him to sign. I would argue that  it is not that he doesn't "care" about placement or how his sig looks, just people need to be "realistic" at this stage of his life.  The sharpie does not help either. The other variable I just thought of is that it might also depend on the size of the window box and space he had to work with.  Lots of factors to consider.

Overall, the placement is pretty good. It does not interfere with any of the art and the trade off might have been a "bunched up" sig.  The "St" is still very predominant as is the"l" so I don't think that sig will 'turn off' too many collectors who would want an early ASM signed by Stan.

I have seen better and I have seen far worse. I think you made out alright.

Nice book too btw. I still need one of those...

    completely agree

  9. i guess i agree the book is for my private collection not looking to sell it but i see what your talking about though i agree that some day there will be a premium on unsigned books it depends really what book the sig is on according to cgc census there is only 140 signed ASM 3 and over 1400 non signed also stan is 94 and has already been set to make final conventions apperances which means hes not gonna sign a million more items and once hes gone no more can be signed. and though i see what your saying with its just a name in sharpie its not just a name its stan lee "the creator of spider-mans" name. (co-creator steve ditko)

It's pretty consistent with one I got a few years ago. I wasn't totally thrilled, but it is what it is... I've seen worse.

    FF 1 SS.JPG

Personally I don't think your sig is bad at all it is legebal and that's the important part I mean the first e in lee is a bit blocked out but it is still noticeable and nothing beats a good ol jack Kirby sig cool book

Can get creative on these as well!

Photo of Tom Cruise signed that he happened to have when he ran into Tom while climbing K2

--script of Twister that he got Bill Paxton to sign while attending Bill's funeral. As a bonus he got Phillip Seymour Hoffman's signature whose headstone was actually picked up by a tornado and as it fell to the ground it grazed the --script and made a mark.

signed helmet from Matt Damon when ran into him while he was on Mars.

    lol

something very close like that happened to me once though, this is a true story: around 2-3 years ago i traveled to San Francisco for vacation, while there i passed by this shop that sold Geek things, in the store i bought a harry potter chocolate frog like form the movies. in the frog it came with a card of a famous harry potter professor, i got professor mcgonigal (i'm pretty sure i misspelled that) who is played by Maggie Smith. we were on vacation so i put the card into my backpack and forgot about it. that night we went to eat dinner at this fancy restaurant. anyway i was put to sit down and guess who was two tables in froth of me, Maggie Smith! through out the entire meal i was to embarrassed to go up to her, and i was afraid if i took a picture with my phone some guy would think i was stalking her or something (stupid, i know.) i leave the restaurant and never talked to her though i did pass by her and smile, (she smiled back!)

  13. got this book a while back, it is the last appearance of the Claw until issue 6 which is DareDevil's first appearance. not to mention the Claw was Daredevil's worst enemy,  the book is coverless and the first and last pages are detached it is complete though, i know it is a .3 at most but how much do you think its worth? thank you
