  1. Plot twist: Selina hooks up with D.Grayson.
  2. Is this the first post for the new season? Wow. I'm surprised a thread wasn't started earlier. I mean, yeah...season 1 was bad, but I figured there would still be someone eager enough to have started a thread for season 2 months ago. That being said, season 2 is a vast improvement over season 1. Then again, s1 set the bar really REALLY low. Season 2 thoughts/spoilers below:
  3. 2nd this. My order details are showing again as well.
  4. Yikes. Demand must have been low on those virgin ASM 800 books considering they sent out an email advertising that Ultra sets are still in stock. I'm so accustomed to those things flying off the site in a matter of minutes.
  5. Remember that the days are business days (so that excludes weekends and holidays). Current turnaround time is like 60 business days, which amounts to early December (or 3 months).
  6. I guess I'm a little surprised they didn't sell out at SDCC. I was told they were print runs of 1000 and that some copies were pulled due to printing/manufacturing defects, but not enough to warrant a reprint. As a result, the publicly available copies is somewhere <1000. (And yes, I know any print run numbers can't be validated and we just have to take their word for it.) But I guess since the ASM's are technically "Third Prints", maybe all the people who rushed to get the trade dress copies were happy with what they had and didn't feel compelled to pick any up virgin copies at the convention.

  9. Update: I guess it's all a moot point now that CGC isn't shipping to California via FedEx anymore.
  10. "cost and logistics". I don't really get this part, but then again, I don't really understand how much space these books are taking up. Are THAT many people really using the pickup method? Is it THAT much of an inconvenience to hold books for a week for pick-up, otherwise books will be shipped? I don't pick-up books, but I feel for those who suddenly have to pay $30 to have books shipped a few miles.
  11. I just got off the phone with CGC and was informed that they have stopped shipping books to California via FedEx. Apparently, a lot of books were stolen. Anyone who had previously listed FedEx as the shipping selection will automatically have the book shipped Registered Mail instead. (I'm assuming at cost to you of course).
  12. Seriously, so many neat little touches like the cat on her glove, the bat on the mask, the tears, the broken heart in the ear...
  13. In August, I was spending way too much money, so in an attempt to save some, I told myself not to click on Rich's sales thread. And then for whatever reason, I click on the August thread today, and what do I find? A stunning Catwoman cover. I swear, trying to NOT buy anything in your threads is just futile. Ugh... Catwoman #4 (Artgerm variant) s/s Artgerm and Joelle Jones $135
  14. I don't know what the former improper use was. As far as cameo vs 1st appearance, the discussion on the Batman Who Laughs illustrates an example of the distinction I am thinking of.
  15. Personally, I feel like there needs to be some distinction between cameo and 1st appearance.
  16. Yup, that's exactly what my page shows and I should have at least 6 orders in the last 6 months, 2 of which were fulfilled and delivered in the last month, with another 2 orders currently at CCS/CGC. Hopefully CGC resolves the issue soon.
  17. You're able to see your submissions? My Submissions page has been bugged out since late last week and simply says "No Order History". I assumed it was a widespread issue affecting all accounts.
  18. Both books were sent out as 9.4s, so I thought I would give them a press. Was hoping they would both come back with an improved score, but I'll happily settle for one upgrade vs none. Truth be told, I love the gold sig version and that will likely go into my personal collection. For starters there is the uniformity in the sharpie color and the fact that the names stand out on, what I feel like is, a very busy cover with a lot of black that makes it difficult to otherwise sign with black sharpie. Not to mention, Stan's sig, despite the use of thick gold is more legible. (Lower score and Newton rings be damned.)
  19. It's a 60+ business day turnaround rate. 3 months is just about on the edge of expectation vs taking too long. I've submitted to CCS a few times, but its usually been books I don't particularly care about getting back in a rush. Though, to be honest, the extra $6 to FastTrack it seems totally worth it. It just sucks that if you FT @ CCS, apparently you have to FT @ CGC as well (or so I was told).
  20. Yeah, it's my dad's old collection. I'm planning on switching them to mylites/fullbacks. Thanks for looking out though.
  21. As others have said here, there doesn't appear to be any issues with your box. You should place a thick cardboard divider on either end of your box as you don't want your books directly in contact with the handle. (The handle height only goes up about 2/3s of the way resulting in a crease potentially developing long term.) Whatever your books are pressed up against, should be flat...hence, a cardboard divider. Secondly, I alternate my books facing forward, and then facing backward. The reason why you're seeing a "lean" (as you describe it) is because the spine side of a book (where the staples are) are thicker than the opposing side (we'll say "flip side" since that's the side where you're flipping through the pages). If you alternate the direction in which your books face, you end up with an even distribution of pressure along all areas of the book. If your books all face one direction, more pressure is applied on the side that has the spine/staples, thus causing a lean. Below is a picture of my short box with alternating books. You can see there is no lean. And here's what I mean by alternating the direction in which my books face.
  22. I personally don't like the books to be too tight. I found the standard modern/current bags I was buying were just way too tight that they ended up bending the book/backing board. I would have to place a bunch of books or a TPB on top just to get the bag to "stretch" out as it were. This would become especially problematic with doublesized anniversary books or the prestige format books. This is why I switched to the thick bags (along with the minor cost savings associated with having 2 books in one bag). Note that current bags are 6 7/8" wide whereas the thick bags are 7" wide. You'd be surprised how much more space your books have with just that extra 1/8".
  23. Better question, why was a new thread even needed? Considering the collective knowledge of comic books found on these boards, I find it absurd that the discussion even lasted as long as it did. I'm with RMA, an appearance that occurs within the context of a story counts. Whether that appearance is a 1st appearance or a cameo or some other definition is a separate discussion. A preview or a promo or anything else does not constitute an appearance within the context of the story that a comic is trying to tell. If that's how someone wants to define it, then the truth is, there are no 1st appearances. At least none that a normal collector will be able to acquire without dropping a reasonable chunk of change. What do I mean by that? Here's Omega Red's "1st appearance" then: https://imgur.com/a/mlz03LI Good luck acquiring that from Jim, Marvel, or whomever is in possession of that sheet right now.
  24. Are you paying for the uniqueness of the product or for the experience (lunch, personal time, and having a piece that is not a reproduction but was actually drawn by him)?
  25. I hate to ask...what did it used to be? Shipping books/slabs with room for plenty of protection, plus tracking number, plus insurance for $15 sounds reasonable to me, but I guess that's all I've ever known. If I'm shipping 1 or 2 floppies, i can fit them and cardboard in a large sized envelope for $5 (which again seems reasonable to me).
