  1. Everything I know about England, I learned from Top Gear.
  2. I don't know much about the behind the scenes stuff, but based on the body of work, I would actually argue the opposite has occurred. It seems to me that MCU directors have LESS creative control than their DC counterparts. You see this in how all MCU movies share a similar tone. Heck, you see this with Disney and the carousel of directors that have come and gone for the various Star Wars projects simply because the powers that be at Disney disagreed with the product the directors were making. I mean, look at the DC movies through the years. Superman Returns was different than Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy which was different from Snyder's work which was different from Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad.
  3. Sadly, I've made this error in judgement way too many times. I hate when signature series books have to be separated because of the length between signing dates.
  4. This is true, but there is an average range/consensus on what the general population thinks of something (think a bell curve). Admittedly, I have no idea what everyone's views are in this forum, but when it comes to reviews and aggregation sites (like RT), over time, you're able to determine whether your personal views align or depart with theirs. And as such, you can put more credence in some reviewers and less in others.
  5. It depends on the book, but the minimum cost is gonna be something like $60. $20 for modern submission, $5 form fee. $32 Registered mail. Of course, if you FastTrack, that's another $10. And then cost is higher if you submitted anything other than Modern. You should have been handed a green form breaking down your submission.
  6. So you liked ASM and you think BvS:UE is a top 10 movie. I think it's safe to say that your views wildly differ from the majority of the moviegoing population and that's fine. Each person has different interests and views things differently, but I think most people who comes along reading your opinions on this matter are gonna have to take it with a grain of salt. (Unless they too thoroughly enjoyed BvS, in which case they'll value your opinions highly). EDIT: when you say "Top 10", do you mean "Top 10 movie of all time"? Or "Top 10 comic book/graphic novel/superhero movie of all time"? Because I interpreted it as the former.
  7. For starters, I would like to thank the community. If not for stumbling across these boards and this thread in particular, my books would still be hidden away in boxes in a dark closet protected from friends who might otherwise ridicule me when they come over. The number of amazing rooms and collections that fill these pages is truly astounding. My room (which really consists of a wall and 2 bookcases) pales in comparison to what some of you guys have done, but at least it has given me a clear direction on how best to decorate my spare room. My interest in the Batman/Catwoman relationship peaked during the seminal Hush run and I had been looking for a print of the iconic rooftop kiss from Batman #610 for many years or even a print of the cover of the 15th anniversary hardcover, but never did find anything that fit the bill. So I was ecstatic when this giclée from the pages of Batman #50 recreating said moment became available at SDCC (along with a print of the equally impressive variant cover). Many thanks to @stinkininkin for making these available and for the remarques on both prints. (The detail on the giclée is absolutely incredible.) Lastly, a big shout out to @Kevlar who helped get the prints for me and dealt with the mountain of requests I had that weekend. He handled it like a champ.
  8. Yeah, I get that, but I am under the assumption that the 50% promotion is only for NYCC.
  9. I've got an Iron Man #55 I'd like to get CrossOver'd, but seeing as how the 50% only appears to be for NYCC, there's not much I can do about it.
  10. so it's for blue label books essentially. how is this different than me just sending my book in now?

  12. My guess is the following: Panels - represents creators who will be speaking at panels and are not available for signings. Artist Alley - creators who have a table and will be signing at their table and selling their own art and/or creator owned titles In Booth Signing - creator who is signing at a store booth. (for example, Midtown Comics may pay a creator to sign at their booth in order to draw more fans there in an attempt to boost sales.) All signing fees (whether at Artist Alley or In Booth Signings) are determined by the creators.
  13. Have you tried Glenlivet 18? Or are you thinking of the 12? I've never had 18, but if the difference between the 12 and 18 are as striking as that of a Macallan 12 vs 18, then maybe it's not as bad as you think.
  14. if it's at CCS it should say something along the lines of CCS-Req'd or CCS-Rec'd. If it's not prefaced by "CCS", then it's with CGC.
  15. A lot of people have silver, gold, red, blue, etc colored sigs. I wouldn’t worry about it. The answer is probably that there hasn’t been enough time to reach a definitive conclusion on “metallaic” sharpies over time.

  17. There's a lot of online previews these days. Like Lobo's daughter was shown at Wondercon in March. Is that her first appearance?
  18. From a customer perspective, I might occasionally flip through new books i'm unfamiliar with just to see if it captures my attention. I have never, nor would i ever advocate reading an entire issue in a shop. It's a comic book STORE...not a library. Also, i would never open a back issue book without the consent of the store employee. Especially considering the books are typically taped and if the tape catches and damages the book, that's on you.
  19. ooooo. my mistake. I guess I was confusing it with another cover which was signed and exclusively slabbed by the other guys.
  20. It's late here so I could be misunderstanding, but I think valiantman (or should credit go to dwitkin82?) is implying that the raw one is rare because it can be submitted to CGC for a blue label (or yellow upon future signing). The 250 copies were all signed exclusives submitted to CBCS such that no yellow CGC labels exist. The implied rarity is in a CGC label (which carries more value because it's a more trusted label) vs a CBCS label. Were you to crack it and reslab it, you would get a green label (which would be more displeasing than a CBCS yellow as far as i'm concerned).
  21. Use this post. When it's updated, it shows you which creators will be at which shows, when those shows are, and who's facilitating. It's not updated 100%, but most of the time it'll give you the information you're looking for. I should also add that Kevlar = Twin Cities Comics and his post was on page 1 of "SigSeries Event Central". He's a great facilitator and he is actually helping me with a signing at ACE.
  22. This seems to be the general thread where they are posting information. Sounds like dealer accounts are still affected.
