This looks more like a labeling error to me.  Isn't the best grade you get can with a sig something like a 6.0?

When it comes to keys, I'll buy from whomever has the best price, whether it's an LCS, local con, or online.  When completing arcs, it's largely LCS and local con (hellllllo dollar bins).  The occasional big value book within an arc, I'll buy online.  I love the feeling of finding a deal or series amongst the dollar bins, but otherwise, I don't really subscribe to the thrill of the hunt of going to all the LCS's in an area in search of one book.

Everytime I've called CS, I'm connected to another person within a few minutes and my issues/questions are all resolved a few minutes after that.  I find they're MUCH more responsive to phone calls than emails.

I was not expecting a full bill when I have a shade under $120 in total credit on my account. And this amount looks way worse when you convert it to Canadian dollars. 

I continue to try to be zen about it all since I understand that overworked humans are doing this and slack needs to be cut. I guess if the credit lasts long enough it can just go toward my membership renewal so all good in the end. 

You have to call them and ask to apply the credits.  Don't know why it's such an archaic system, but that's how it works.

There needs to be a review signature.  I work in finance, when I reconcile the books at the end of the month I sign and date my review.  When I prepared quarterly reporting for the auditors, I sign and date my support.  There needs to be a similar process in place for QC such that issues can be traced back to the reviewer so you can monitor performance.  A QC intern or two should be responsible for doing a high level review of all books to make sure the bare minimum requirement is met.  No upside down books.  No hair or loose papers in slabs.  This thread continues to be an embarrassment for CGC and I refuse to pay to send books in until the number of posts in here is reduced to a minimum of less obvious problems.

I believe the phases after grading are encapsulation, QC, shipping/receiving.

I imagine the encapsulation and shipping/receiving teams aren't qualified to make judgement calls on labeling and what not.  It's probably the two phases of the entire process that don't necessitate any knowledge in comics as they're more technical/physical roles.  Not to dismiss the work of anyone that works in those fields, but I would think it would require the least amount of critical thinking to perform your job.  (Unless the encapsulation machine breaks down, then I imagine their knowledge in that particular field comes in really handy).  But otherwise I figure you place the book in a designated spot, press a button, assemble the inner/outer well, press another button, and send it on its way.  I just can't imagine the encapsulation room isn't heavily automated and that most days employees aren't simply high functioning drones going through the process until the lunch bell rings.  That doesn't excuse stuff like rolls of stickers getting slabbed, but I wouldn't expect someone in encapsulation to go "hang on, this isn't a 2nd print, it's a facsimile cover" and send the book back.  That said, one of the three departments should catch major things that can be caught with a simple glance.  Big, obvious stuff getting past QC is inexcusable.

I think it still matters that the probation list should be reserved for instances where it's between two members, otherwise there's no way for the PL member to prove they've rectified the situation and earn their way off the list.  In this case, by completing the original transaction at the original price.  We'd only have the sellers side of the story and frankly, at this point, I wouldn't believe them if they showed proof of sale because for all I know, it could be with an alt account.

@CGC Mike I wanted to clarify posting rules in sales threads in light of a recent post.

Under normal circumstances, when a new listing is created that shares the same images as that of a completed sale, it can be an indicator of a scammer selling books they don't own.  Under such circumstances, is it not the boards responsibility to try to protect others from potentially falling into a trap?  Furthermore, when it's revealed that a seller canceled a completed a sale and relisted it to make more money, that typically qualifies as a probation worthy offense.  Is the board in that case not allowed to point out shady business practices?

Wasn't me.  I just found the eBay listing and shared it.  Him implying my motivation was due to missing out on "a deal" is purely some sort of fabricated excuse.  I wouldn't even pay $20 for both books.

But yes, you are correct. Because if you actually did have a 1st print (or even thought there was a real chance you did) the last thing you’d want to do is hastily throw it up on eBay with an ambiguous listing that had 3 questions posed in the title - “1st? 2nd? 3rd? Print”. Especially since you’re estimating it at a 9.4 potential grade, which would land a value of around 35k. It’s almost as if the seller knew it wasn’t a 1st print but wanted to find a buyer (sucker) who might believe it is. 

But it seems they did find a sucker.  So what's with the canceled screenshot?  For starters, I find it hard to believe that anyone would spend four figures on a book when the title doesn't make it clear as to what exactly they're buying.  And then beyond that, who cancels a four figure sale knowing the book isn't a 1st or 2nd printing and that they likely sold the book for way more than should have been reasonably expected.  I'm with Mystafo, this whole thing is really confusing.  

Maybe they would like me if they got to know me.

I personally don't like date stamps, but it would be kind of cool to have an entire run of books with date stamps from the same store as it's a reflection of a bygone era.  It would feel like owning a collection without the pedigree notation.
