  1. also...

The CBLDF brought all the Revivals they had left for me at WWChicago...maybe 10 left and of those 10 half were ripped...

Also heard that half were originally given out at a fundraiser and most were tossed out by people attending?

Any reason why they were buying copies back?

    Huh?

  2. I know we all have our copies, or are hunting down the Thompson or CBDLF variants. Now here's the real question, how many of ya'll have actually read the book?

i think most of us have. i did, and enjoyed it very much. i for one, didn't see the end coming

Really? I thought that was really obvious. Not that it lessened my enjoyment of the book.

This was probably the best first issue I've read since Morning Glories #1. It felt kind of like a super-natural Sweet Tooth with tighter art.

  3. As Nico pointed out...let's discuss issue #5...

    What did everybody think?

    I liked it a lot.

Brought the book back up to issue 1 and 2 level.

The first page was awesome. The last page was awesome. The stuff with The Will was awesome. Awesome issue!

  4. And I really hope it is not a 10 year endeavor. If it is I likely will drop it.

He made it sound like he plans to go alot longer than either Ex Machina or Y. I may drop the singles at some point, but I'll definitely get the collections. I dropped Y in the 20s, but the HCs remain among my favorites.

  5. Are they going to do the Walking Dead stupidness to issue #100 for Invincible?

    Pat

I doubt it. There will probably be at least one variant. Two or three (like Invincible Returns #1) wouldn't surprise me.

Personally, in terms of the story for Invincible 100, I'm hoping Kirkman goes the opposite way that he did from TWD 100. How about an engagement or something happy as a celebration?

  6. Thief of Thieves Related Weirdness.

I just listed my 2nd of two TOT sets. They include a CGC 9.8 copy of #1 (first print) and raw copies of 2-5. The first lot sold for $160. I little lower than what they were going for a couple weeks ago, but I'm happy with the profit.

This second one I listed at $149 with a best offer option. Some 9.8 copies are now out there for around $100, so I felt like I was at the top end of the market, but adding the 2-5 might make the sale.

I received this message from another eBay user:

"Why don't you raise the price on this item to $25 lower than the other listed books and include the best offer option. There's only 200 copies of this book and your low price has crippled the market for the book by making it appear that the demand for the title is non-existent. Please don't take this message the wrong way, I'm just offering some friendly advise."

I told the guy that there were plenty of other people out there selling it cheaper than me and asked if he was messaging all of them as well. I also told him that all of his assumptions were wrong and to never contact me again.

Has anyone else ran into someone trying to increase the market value of a book in this way? So freaking weird.

Dude, just sell the book for whatever price you want. It's your book. I remember several times when peeps PMd me about killing the market on a rare book for just showing multiple copies on a thread. F them. Your're the owner of the book you own and paid for...no one else. 2c

Werd. Do what you want and F them. They are asking you to manipulate the market, but the free choices that you make are a part of the market.

  7. So all the variants and signed versions of this book as well as 9.8s are selling well.

Regular issues of 1 and 2 are sitting unsold on ebay at $4-7 here lately.Anyone explain why? Isnt this book suppossed to be picking up steam?

Because there are 30K plus of them out there.

  8. The first two issues are much better than I thought they would be, but let's face it, the story premises doesn't have the potential of TWD at all.

TWD and ToT are two totally different Genres and appeals to different groups. The WD has been out longer building a larger fan base but this doesn't mean ToT doesn't have the potential for the same success. ToT has a similar feel to Dexter for example and could tap into it's fan base.

....... which is much, much smaller than the TWD fan base. The thief / noir genre isn't going to appeal to 10M plus people regularly on the TV screen.

  9. I saw the 2nd print last one I saw sell for 75 with time left so I assume with bins at 150 that it would be approaching $100 mark as a realistic price. Seem pretty hard to find at least. So would something like 50 second print be something that would be another issue that could jump pretty soon.

In time maybe, but the feeling I get is that there are many 50 seconds out there and not many 33 seconds.

  10. There's a dynamic forces WD #50? Never heard of this........

you guys think I can get 300 for walking dead 9.8 #50 variant signed by kirkman? last one sold was for 250. Or should I wait till the governor shows up on the show?

Is this the Dynamic Forces book?

If so, yes, you should be able to get $300 for it no problem. I'm still kicking myself in the for not buying a copy I saw.

Whoops. I must've smoked something today. I thought I saw #25 not #50. No, there is no DF #50.

  12. what is a fair price for walking dead 33 second printing. hard to believe it is selling for 150 buy now

I think you would be able to find this one for $90 or so. $150 seems excessive.

1st prints can be found for $20-30 on ebay. a 2nd print shouldn't run more than $10-15

Yeah, they shouldn't be, but it's one of the books that is never in over-abundance on ebay. Even when the first print was only a cover price book, I always sold second prints for $25 with no prob because my copies were the only ones out there.

If people want them, they pay. The first print is plentiful. The blue cover, second print, not so much.

With that being said, you can still get them for $30 on ebay. The last copy I sold, I moved for about $65.
