  1. I was looking to do both actually. I prefer the comics to any collected versions of anything. Just a personal preference.

I'd only CGC it for a SS book.

Is it really worth reading? As good as walking dead?

It's the best super hero book out there. So if you like super hero books, it's definitely worth reading. It's different from TWD, but even better IMO.

$379 sounds like a good deal especially if they are all really NM or better. Those early issues usually have spine problems. You may be able to do a bit better, but I have an extra set of them and I wouldn't go nearly that low. The #1 variant, you should be able to get for $20 shipped with patience.

  2. Very nice!

I picked up page 15 from that issue which is now my first OA page with some action on it. My tiny OA collection now consists of 4 Chew pages and Rob's variant cover for the Dynamo 5 Holiday Special which came out today. Gotta love the Guillory art.

    I just read #15. Wow.

  3. I'm seeing cacks all over the place in this thing now. The thumb on the right hand is a limp cack. It actually looks like there are 2 set of cack n balls on the left hand.

This thing is a cack monster.

My daughter just walked by and saw that thing. How embarrasing.

  4. He isn't doing anything other than Invincible. 75 is double sized with an incredible amount of detail that doesn't go quickly. Trust me, I am sure it will be worth the wait.

They had him doing Haunt :gossip:

    Yup, ended awhile ago..

gotcha. I stopped reading after #1. (thumbs u

    +1 lol

Me too. But doing 2 books, I'm sure burned him out. He put out a ton of stuff in 2009 so I'll give him a pass for 2010.

  5. This title is killing me. Anyone know why so many delays? 75 was supposed to be out in July! Last week I heard it would be out Oct 20 and now I hear it isn't coming out until Nov 3rd. Great title but so many delays will hurt sales.

They are well behind. Considering that #74 came out in late August, there's no way this was going to make July.

Hate to break it to you, but it's probably not going to make 11/3 either. Ottley posted that the pencils and inks were finished last week. It's almost done being colored and then will take probably 3-4 weeks at the printers.

It's a double sized issue. It's con season. Ottley is probably burned out after doing on time in 09 and drawing 2 books at the same time and making a monthly schedule doing it.

Sales won't be hurt on this as much as if it were a big 2 book. People will wait for the good stuff. I'd much rather be getting quality stuff a bit late than get some fill in artist for a few books like the big 2 do.

  6. I think it'll hold steady for a while, but it makes you wonder if it hasn't gone crazy yet-will it ever? It's still a significant value for a relatively recent modern, and has potential.

Invincible tends to swing from a single issue perspective. Right now, #1 is selling around $50, but it has done a steady $150 in the past.

Really, it's the book that should be more accepted by the comic community compared to TWD. Invincible is a super hero book. However, most comic readers still keep their Big 2 blinders on in regards to super hero books, if not all comics. As they start getting older and their tastes mature, more and more readers will be attracted to Invincible (in my opinion).

Noble Causes Family Secrets 3a I generally pass on, give me 3b baby! Additionally, I've come across probably 20+ copies of it and have yet to find a 9.8 candidate out in the wild.

Keep your eyes on ebay. Slabbed 9.8s come up every once in a while. At one point, they moved for $225-300. I recently picked one up for $60 shipped and I've seen them go as low as $40 shipped. I have raw 9.8s, but at that price, why not?

Issues up to #13, 50 art adams, and 56? the wolf-man crossover are all solid pick ups. Some of his early cross overs are pretty tough, the pact, some noble causes.

I agree with issues up to 13 with 1, 11, and 12 being the toughest to find.

Some of the second print issues, I never come across.

Also issue 50, 60 and 63 seem to be tough to find. I've been able to flip copies for about $10 pretty consistently.

Invincible remains my favorite comic. I get a bit OCD when it comes to runs of this book.

  7. This sort of stuff in incentive for me NOT to give out Christmas cards and such in the future.

    :(

I still have mine tucked away with my Chew books! I hope you'll keep doing it in the future, or something similar - it was so much fun to receive it. :foryou:

I was very lucky to receive one from John recently and I definitely won't be selling it. I was going to put it with my Chew comics, but it's a Christmas card, so I've decided to tape it to the door of my comic room just as Christmas cards usually are. That way, I can enjoy it instead of tucking it away.

I'm glad you decided to take it down and hope that it doesn't deter John from doing nice stuff for the fans in the future.

  8. I fthe TWD and Invincible variants are the covers I've seen, I'm not impressed.

TWD looks like the #1 cover, but with Rick how he presently looks.

Invincible looks like #1, but with the updates to the Invincible costume (no knee pads, no fingerless gloves, etc).

With that in mind, I'm passing on these and will pick them up when they are selling for less on ebay. I have everything TWD and Invincible (except the Returns sketch), but these variants just aren't impressive.
