  1. It's a bit of both: http://www.spiderfan.org/comics/reviews/fantastic_four_annual/001-b.html I have every comic book Spider Man appeared in up till 1/1980. Other than the AF 15, I'm just missing a few random issues. He was in 1 panel of Avengers #3, in a panel of X-Men #27, as Peter Parker in FF #35 for example. Once it gets into the 1980-90's Spidey was everywhere but I have most of them too and I still buy new books regularly. So I'm right about there with ya!
  2. I set my DVR to record that this week. It's on PBS a few times.
  3. Great pic! Now, do you have the first 16 or so with the Tales to Astonish #57?
  4. No kidding! Imagine seeing a pink getaway car being chased by that lime green cop car through the technicolor streets of the city. The All-Famous #9 has been an elusive one thus far. I just love the "Camera of Death" cover! Timley - you can post that pic as often as you want! If the Timeley vault ever gets a bit tight I'm keeping a slot open for a Catman #28 in my LB Cole collection!
  5. Love that Catman cover. I have only 1 Catman issue, #27, but I really want a #30. I'll get there! Until then here's 2 crime books I picked up off ebay: ALL-FAMOUS CRIME #8 ALL-FAMOUS POLICE CASES #9
  6. WoW. Ultimate Centaur book!!! GO Everett Magic!!!
  7. Here's my Golden Record reprint #1, it's a solid 7.5: Makes for a fun book to actually READ if you wanna see what an ASM #1 looks like on the inside.
  8. Cool stuff MM. I know many of those Red Ryder books have back photo covers, so feel free to post 'em!
  9. Whoa! Any way you can take a pic of the Human Torch story? I'm not sure who I got this from. Awesome - THANKS! I love how the Torch has a picture of himself on his back. HA!
  10. Whoa! Any way you can take a pic of the Human Torch story?
  11. Sweet! Looks like you've got a couple of candidates for the "Lady in Red" thread also on this forum!
  12. I've seen a bunch of Heckle & Jeckle covers up here lately. May have to buy this: http://www.mediaoutlet.com/heckle-and-jeckle-dvds-all-43-terrytoons-cartoons-2-discs-p-765.html "This title is a collection of all 43 individual Heckle And Jeckle cartoons which are all in the public domain. "
  13. Very cool. Love the history behind that copy. I have the one Dark Horse put out a few years ago.
  14. I posted this in the LB Cole thread, but just won this one on Sunday. I've got about 1/2 of this title now:
  15. Wow, that's about as bright as the red gets on an ASM #4! Nice score!
  16. Very nice! Good to see one of your Spideys! I mostly get to see your burgeoning collection of LB Cole covers over at the CBR boards. (I'm killerbass over on those boards...) Fellow Spidey collector, Tom McKenna Hey Tom! Yep, I'll try to post more, as I'm doing some re-config in the comic room right now. I've got the whole run so if you're interested in a specific ish lemme know, and stay tuned!
  17. Thanks guys! I'm up over 200 and counting. I'm not sure who did that Billy the Kid cover. I can see where it has similarities of many funny animal covers of the time, even to the one I posted above, but I doubt it's Cole. Even when Cole drew horses he usually drew the anthropomorphic ones like real ones (see above!). He loved horses. Really, lots of artists were able to draw those "cutsie" looking animals with those big eyes and what not. I also don't know if he ever did any work for Fawcett. If I come across any info on this I'll post it though!
  18. Thanks guys. It does present pretty well. No chipping but of course I do wish it was brighter. If I knew then what I knew now, I'd have bought an AF 15 and waited to get this one. I had a dream of getting an AF 15 in at least this grade, but that dream is loooooooooong gone now with the way that book has shot up in value.
  19. Better late than never! I've been wanting to post this one for a while, but needed to take a pic of it. It's only a camera phone pic, sorry no scan. I got this from Showcase New England maybe 8 years ago off of ebay and it finished off my ASM run. Whadda think? If I remember I'll post a pic of my ASM 1 Golden Record reprint book too. That one is ungraded but like a 7.5, a really nice book. So I've got the real thing CGC'd and a readable copy from that era to flip through. And of course I have it reprinted in like 12 other places too.
  20. I've seen a few of them, not the gator cover. He edited a TON of those style of mags. I haven't picked up any yet. Yet, of course, being the key word there. If I'm not getting comics I'd rather get some of his other digest covers as most are even older than his comic work. So much time, so little $$$...
  21. Again, not high grade but the price was right! SPOOK #29 CRIME-FIGHTING DETECTIVE #16 (under $10 + sh) GUNS AGAINST GANGSTERS #1
  22. Just got in my copy of Night Nurse #1, and a few nice freebies! Thanks a lot! Hope to buy from you again!
