  1. 100% agree. After Heimdall, they were considered his best friends. I get that he didn't witness their deaths, but a scene of him collecting their bodies to send them off like his mother in TDW, would've been nice. Did Hela turn them into her undead minions, though? Was never mentioned, but possibly implied.
  2. Oh, sorry, she has a "let me speak to your manager" cut. My bad.
  3. This is so incorrect that my mind is blown. A simple battle scene being called "brilliant" is also mind-blowing. Literally no storytelling in GotG Vol. 2 had any implications for the MCU. Anyone can become "family" by being around each other for specific amounts of time. Gamora and Nebula became "sisters" by dialogue. Whoopity-doo-daa. The Sovereign created Adam. Cool. They could've done that at any time. Yondu dies. Okay. Doesn't affect anything. Not like Kraglin did with his mohawk in Endgame. Mantis is trash. Worthless from any battle perspective and completely laughable that she 'has Captain Marvel's back' in Endgame. It's a popcorn comedy and nothing more. Dialogue and the flow of time are the only things that did anything for the future of the MCU, which all could've occurred off-screen with fly-by exposition on a future movie, and created no wonder for audiences.
  4. I seriously had to Google who the F this is. All of those replaced actors were one-and-done, though. Once you get a few movies deep, they've shown that commitment to continuity is important, and made it work for most parties. It's why Sif was completely excluded rather than recast in Thor: Ragnarok.
  5. The storytelling in CM was not brilliant whatsoever, either. "Muzzle OP McGuffin byproduct" is not character development or good storytelling. It's a crutch. They should not have made her a Stone byproduct or OP. Just as lame as Scarlet Witch and she didn't get her own movie. Infinity Saga is over. Everything pre-2023 should be off-limits. I don't care about the Thanos Era anymore. Onto the future or GTFO.
  6. They were just nostalgia. The 90's references of Blockbuster, the music, etc were not integral to the story whatsoever. Earth's bad tech is good enough to transmit signals by some BS alien hacking device, but not good enough to maintain communication? Self-contradiction in-movie right there (one of many very poorly constructed events). How are they gonna do a prequel with her new butch cut..? It's a bad idea, and Feige doesn't have many of those, so I doubt it's gonna happen. I won't be seeing it if it does.
  7. Also, the MCU has plenty of mediocre stories. It just so happens that the characters make the movie worth watching (unlike Captain Marvel).
  8. You actually broke it. Wonder Woman 1984 is also going to blow, sadly. The problem with Captain Marvel even worse than Wonder Woman is that: 1. The 90's nostalgia was carp, and another prequel will make it even worse. 2. If it's space-based, and the nostalgia effect doesn't exist, what are we to connect with..? Hopefully they just scrap it, recast her, and use her as the next 'Hulk' (where she only appears in crossovers).
  9. GotG Vol. 2 is worse than Iron Man 3 and The Dark World. Humorous, but no stakes, and completely meaningless to the story of the MCU.
  10. If you thought that Iron Man's and Captain America's 'deaths' were surprising, then you're as naive as the parents who took their 10-year olds to see Endgame during opening weekend, and expecting their hearts not to be broken. You don't setup a decade of stories the way Kevin Feige did without a payoff. If Marvel Studios didn't convey any stakes - then the MCU would be dead instead of a few characters. These films weren't "Ruffalo's thing" until he saw how Ruffalo-like the Hulk actually is. He didn't like the idea of mo-cap until he realized that he is the Hulk (aside from Ferrigno's voice). He was imperative to getting Brolin to sign on as Thanos. If Feige doesn't 'allow' actors and their characters an out - then they won't be able to land high-profile actors and actresses to play them (the heroes). Recasting the big characters doesn't play to keeping the MCU continuous. Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man. He cannot be recast for a long, long, time.
  11. Not every citizen of Sakaar fights in The Grandmaster's Contest of Champions... Valkyrie? Loki? Did you watch Ragnarok..? Captain Marvel 2 will probably suck harder than this one if it's another prequel.
  12. Why do you assume that sending Yon-Rogg to Sakaar would lead to "essentially his death"..? I suspect that another CM prequel will kill most enthusiasm/optimism for the character. And, if she hasn't taken care of the problems she experienced in the 90's within the past 30 years, then wtf is she even doing with her life..?
  13. I think you're confusing "likes" with "delusion"...
  14. Iron Man 3 is good-not-great. Think I gave it a B- after my Phase 2 re-watch in April.
  15. I'm a big fan of CGC, but whoever pays for this vague opinion service is a [insert censored insult here].
  16. Not again... A 9.8 is not Gem Mint. There will be flaws.
  17. Okay, so I lied because Vanko could, too. Iron Man 3 is still a great story about the title character...
