  1. IIRC, Marvel Studios and Sony split profits of Spider-Man's solo films 50/50 after production costs are recouped, and Sony gets 0 from his other MCU appearances. I think there was some sort of 'signing bonus'-type deal in which Sony made a specific dime on Spider-Man's intro to the MCU via Civil War. I could be completely wrong on all of this, though, because I also normally don't give a about the financials. I have to disagree on your "lack of responsibility" comment entirely. In both solo films he's trying to do the 'right' thing - and fix his own mistakes along the way. We've seen the Uncle Ben influence a couple times already. I think it was a good move to skip the origin(s). I don't consider Stark to be some sort of 'replacement', rather, a continuation of looking up to an idol and again being heartbroken and learning from the loss.
  2. Oh. You're talking about the wedges? As Joey mentioned, those are to keep comics in-place within the slab. If a book is particularly thin, etc. I was so confused...
  3. How interesting is it that Zack Snyder was heavily-involved early-on and his plans were scrapped... Imagine how successful Worlds of DC would be if they didn't handcuff their 'creative committee'...
  4. The Transformers after #1 are trash that jabronis watch. Kinda like the Fast and Furious movies. They make money because the brainless Idiocracy people flock to the theater to watch SPLOSIONS. I have no idea how Suicide Squad made money. Probably the Harley fanboys and fangirls. It's a truly pathetic movie.
  5. Feel like I asked you this before, but, did you see the Ultimate (aka real) Edition? Iron Man 2 and 3!? Age of Ultron!? Iron Man 3 was disappointing, but in conversation for "the worst comic book movie of the 21st century"!?
  6. Welcome to CGC, Darin. I'm into the Modern SS game as well. I personally don't see the point in buying graded Moderns unless they're signed (and therefor unique/"rare").
  7. Looks like it's gassed. Oddly enough, more local theaters have started showing the re-release.
  8. I cry like a little girl every time I talk about it. When I was 16, I had no idea exactly how rare/valuable they were. After I left HS, I kinda found out, and just... I don't even know what I did. He could've had Captain Marvel #1, too, for all I know. If he had something like Captain America #1, my dad would recognize it, and would've told me about it. My dad wasn't big on DC, so who knows how many keys he had that my dad didn't recognize as valuable inheritance? My grandfather had to have more than just Superman and Batman #1 down there, though. I can't talk about this any more. It'll make me start drinking at work.
  9. 0 posts? What a n00b. Jeez, she has almost as many comics as I do... That's awesome, though! You could not live with your own failure (of saying that I want a Rom #1). Where'd that bring you? Back to me...
  10. 2003's Hulk with Bana is not part of the MCU. 2008's Incredible Hulk with Norton is part of the MCU. Edit: Your sentence structure is throwing me off. Not sure if you were calling 2003's Hulk, "Part of the MCU, so...", or if you were saying "Part of the MCU, so, the one with..." Idk.
  11. I'm not sure which 2 they were - either AC #1 and DC #27 - or Superman #1 and Batman #1 (I'm led to believe the latter 2). My grandfather had them in "great condition" as my dad says. I'd guess in the 5.0-range because he hoarded newspapers for decades and kept them in seemingly mint condition (for what reason I'll never know). He had them for more than 60 years, but stored them in the basement. They were destroyed in a flood. I'll never forget this because he was going to give them to me when I was 18 (I didn't learn about this until after he had passed away when I was 16). tens of thousands of dollars - maybe even hundreds of thousands - destroyed by poor collecting habits. Who knows what other comics he even had down there!? Funny thing. He was a freaking insurance agent.
