  1. If you took those eye patches off you might feel differently.
  2. Like I said, stripping all nuance and context from the discussion.
  3. Well, that's one way to strip all nuance and context from a subject. BO ≠ Good.
  4. If you're using GotG Vol. 2 as a frame of reference, and in doing so refer to these new movies as "good", what are you labeling the former?
  5. Since Fury of the Gods worked out on Saturday, I decided to put E1 of this on yesterday during lunch. It was okay. I could see the Ross switch coming a mile away, but that was a good way to start with "any human you know from this series could be a skrull". I felt pretty much nothing from the 'big death' at the end. Is that a me problem, or was it not written well-enough? I feel like the character's longevity and closeness to this story should have elicited a stringer response. I'm totally on-board with being annoyed by SLJ simply playing SLJ. I felt that there was a sort of nuance with his acting of Nick Fury before, but this episode didn't feel continuous.
  6. Oh, I had Fran mixed up with Chandler's annoying ex on Friends my whole life.
  7. IMO, sentimental value = keep it sealed, buy an already-graded copy when you're able to.
  8. I don't think that costume designers could have got it right in 2000. Just look at Superman Returns (2006) vs Man of Steel (2013). We've come a long way in costume design.
  9. 9.8? No. I do have a CGC'd copy of Witches Tales #19, though, and I have yet to read that issue. I bought it because it turns out that I love Lee Elias' work, and that cover in the grade I have, is excellent.
  10. I wasn't around these parts when AoU was released, but I do remember pretty much everyone in my circles thought that was a poorly-written joke. The way that The Office handled it (with Michael Scott) was hilarious.
  11. I would say that it's the act of Flash purposefully putting a baby in a microwave that's simply weird. I'm sure there are people offended by it, but it can't be that many. I think that the majority of people would agree that it's just weird, and something else would have worked in its place.
  12. My mom was a bit up-in-arms about it, but I told her that I was exposed to "baby in a blender" jokes in high school, so this was NBD. I think that people 40+ are generally more sensitive about weird content like that, because media can be suggestive, so why put something so weird and unnecessary in a CBM? Overall it was a good scene, so it's just a nitpick.
  13. That was purposeful, though. We often have nostalgia for the past, but forgot what ID10Ts we were. It was also to show how well-off he was with both parents alive and free. Mature Barry inspired himself in the end (finale), too, which was probably the best way to conclude the multiverse mess. Agree with you on the other stuff. I've already mentioned before that there were some really odd creative choices in this movie.
  14. Generally, it's a waste of time if it's in the NM range. Otherwise, internal and major defects should be noted.
  15. I could rewrite my Superman sequel -script to include Supergirl... Brainiac taking on them both? That could be fun...
  16. There's a lot to like. I suggest seeing it for some of the visual spectacle, OST (original soundtrack), and the story is fairly strong.
  17. Maybe I'm just ignorant, but the Loki actors are a spoiler for me, not that it should be any surprise.
