  1. What was the restoration quality, though? Conservation grade is only available to A1 "restoration". If the quality is below-A, then it will remain a PLOD.
  2. I didn't really consider "registry competition". Is that really a thing..?
  3. This isn't even a grading/restoration question...
  4. This wasn't supposed to turn into a "market crash" thread. Just commentary/understanding of the market insanity. People don't hesitate to proclaim indefinite market security, though... It'll crash one day. 2020? Probably not. It will, though.
  5. The Russo Bros. confirmed that Sitwell's dialogue about, "high school valedictorian" and etc, was in reference to no specific individuals. They can retcon and claim that it was, at some point, but they were not hinting to any future appearances.
  6. Your comment was equally as "snarky" as mine. I just drew a parallel for you. That's all. I could be equally as snarky and suggest that you are being overly-sensitive. Projecting, maybe? I know that you may thinking "asking the question" circumvents the 'snarkiness', rather than saying "you must be new to comics", but the translucent nature doesn't fool me. Maybe I wasn't looking at the same Silver Age market last year, because the 0.2 bumps weren't double the price of the books I was looking at. As I said - the world will end one day. The market will also 'crash' one day. It's inevitable, and based on the age we're in (where people my dad's age+ are retiring or planning for such) I suspect it'll be relatively soon. Most people my age don't have the same financial liberties as the generation(s) before us. Ridiculous living costs, ridiculous loan rates for everything, etc. It's a whole other ball game if you look at through one of our eyes (and I am luckily better off than most people my age).
  7. Says the guy who asked, "are you new to comics?" I'm not going to threadsurrect, or bother looking, for a thread not readily available and recently-discussed. I'm not forcing you to contribute to the discussion. It's also a trend that I've noticed more recently. I've looked at prices before and they didn't multiply with each 0.2 grade increment, that I have noticed, until now. Of course there are tons of market discussions, but the multiplication of price/0.2 isn't something that I've seen particularly spoken of. The thread was specifically created to discuss Silver Age between 9.0-9.8 grade. I'm not just ing about the market overall. People always say, "well it's been predicted since the crash in the 90's", well something will have to give otherwise the hobby is going to suffer from lack of collectors. Everyone who's been collecting since the 20th century isn't always going to be around to buy/sell at current prices. The market and distribution of information greatly reduces the possibility to "finds" and flipping for bigger acquisitions to newer generations/collectors. It's going to stagnate and decline, at some point, until product is available at prices more-reasonable for the more-poor generations.
  8. Completely irrelevant, unless you're talking about the same exact car in different conditions... Considering that I only recently started being interested in pre-Modern comics... I mean, you could read the entire thread before -posting.
  9. I edited my post twice. For whatever reason, the sites I mainly peruse did not show all of the Slivers (despite the spoilers being allegedly "complete"), and I also couldn't find a site with foils for pre-orders. I'll likely get The First Sliver and a play-set of the mono-colored uncommon cycle.
  10. Actually - no. There's only as few (as opposed to full cycles) of them and they're underwhelming IMO. Not to mention that my Sliver Commander deck is also all-foil, and for whatever reason, this set doesn't have foil cards... Edit 1: I couldn't pre-order a foil First Sliver, but it appears that they will be available, so I'll end up getting 1 of him. The other ones are 'meh'. Edit 2: And now I'm seeing mono-colored cycles. The previews for this set are weird and incomplete. Idk wtf is going on.
  11. Someone should've slapped her or something. Like, find it in you to cry. It's no wonder the reviews are basically saying the performances were 'phoned in'. How do people with such "acting" skills keep getting jobs..? She's portraying the title character, too! Directing has to be blamed, too. Record as many takes as it takes until she does it right dammit!
  12. Clarify your inquiry for me. Are you looking for how many editions have been printed, or how many books have been printed? Unless they're Limited Edition, you're almost guaranteed to never know the quantity of a print run.
  13. A potato. Her crying, "Why did you make me do that? She was my friend..." in the one trailer was one of the most-cringe things I have ever witnessed in my life. Quite possibly the literal opposite of the spectrum to McAvoy and Fassbender.
  14. "Anyone/everyone who dislikes Captain Marvel is a troll." Said nobody with any credibility ever. How about we keep the thread on-topic and stop bringing that drek movie into every discussion? Kthx.
  15. It's worth noting that the 10 Gem Mints examples referenced above were during a "loose" period in CGC grading. I don't think any of those would receive the same grade if resubmitted today.
