  1. Kinda? I'm no expert. I haven't had a single book pressed. I wouldn't really call it a "trade secret", but it might be akin to asking, "what book should I buy today to flip for profit in a year?" People are hesitant to share advice that may net other people profits at their own potential loss around here. I can't blame them! I know you're saying you're just doing it to improve condition for yourself, but we never know your true intentions. It would be nice if someone helped you out, but I wouldn't count on it. Hopefully you got a giggle or two out of my bad joke.
  2. Are you? Captain Marvel is literally "a girl with powers". You specifically said, "girl power". Is English your first language?
  3. 5/10 would be an "F". For failure. 7/10 would be a C-. Mediocre range. It's also "mediocre" because it's a bottom-half film when you list out the MCU films it exists with.
  4. I don't think that successful pressers would be looking to offer advice. Maybe the fear of rising competition, or something similar? I haven't tried anything and was reminded of that stupid As Seen on TV ad from Facebook, and thought it'd be funny to share it...
  5. It's the same as Tony Stark's sexism harming the likability of his character, early on. Equality: Tony Stark's sexism hurt his character. Carol Danvers' "girl power" hurts her character. Luckily, though, Iron Man wasn't chock-full of sexism. Captain Marvel was a mediocre movie, only in-part, because of the feminist elitism. The movie suffers from far more problems than the singular argument you're trying to make. You've simply focused on 1 thing that you think you can argue. I suppose that means you're conceding all of the other concerns. A "7/10" is mediocre.
  6. This is quite an uneducated post. I suppose you glossed over the 'men have kept me down my whole life and only by accepting that and zapping my power-regulator can I overcome adversity and become a Super Saiyan' during the let down of a 3rd Act? I couldn't care less about her having, or being, a love interest. Are you suggesting that feminist tropes don't exist without a love interest..? "Girl Power is a central theme in Captain Marvel". That's called feminist elitism. So, thank you, for proving my point.
  7. Good on you for doing the diligence on this. Glad things worked out for all parties.
  8. No idea. I was just giving you a bad idea before you try any other bad ideas.
  9. Who's criticizing the film for using "feminist tropes" that hasn't seen the movie..?
  10. Really? How about the context of the entire post and the entirety of my review.
  11. Uh, yeah. Green = Grade if coupon was still there. Let's use your 6.0 as an example. Blue = Big hit to overall grade. 4.0. Green does not "account" for the "defect". Blue does. So, a Q label book with a sig might take a .5 hit if you wanted blue.
  12. Anyone can take a quote out of context. That doesn't make Captain Marvel any better than a mediocre movie.
  13. I have no experience to speak of for pressing. It's not one of those 'obvious' candidates that I can say "yes" to.
  14. It's a heat press for ironing Girl Scout badges onto clothes.
  15. I know. My response was a joke... Because there are some male feminists around here that cannot get a grip on reality... Another joke...
  16. It's mediocre. Another board member might tell you that "it's great" just because there's a female lead.
  17. Probably suspended since he's been submitting a lot of guideline-violating posts...
