Is there really a reason to be sorry? I don't detect sincerity. iIs it just being mannerly?

You don't believe somebody, simply state "I don't believe you".

Form everything you have opined on the subject, you definitely are not sorry, IMHO.

That is neither right or wrong, it just is. It just sounds a bit disingenuous, to me, to state "sorry".

    "Sorry not sorry."

Dang it!  I though Cavill was very good in the role and that MOS is very underrated - I was really looking forward to a MOS2 ............. :(

I understand him wanting out as BvS was ok and Justice League was terrible .... but I thought they could right the ship with a good MOS2 - this is disappointing.

AFAIK, Cavill doesn't want out. Warner Bros is making the decision to part ways. Why? I have no Frkin idea. Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios wins. After 10 years, I think DC is now dead in the water (to me, at least). They have the best 2 comic properties in Batman and Superman, and they screw it all up by now letting their 2 Justice League actors go.

Edit: And, for the record, I love the Dawn of Justice Director's Cut. I think that Justice League could have been great had Zack Snyder not been fired. Joss Whedon has been on-record as saying that Steppenwolf is "one of the worst comic characters ever". They cut too much back story on the new characters. Blah blah blah. I thought Justice League was still good.

  3. Milk was a bad choice...

Cavill is my favorite live-action Superman, and his character is one of the few bright spots in DC Worlds (or whatever they're calling it).

This is almost as dumb as creating another Wonder Woman movie based in the past instead of developing characters like The Flash and Cyborg sooner.

Edit: Did I seriously just read that they're considering casting a black Superman..? Wtf?

Deadpool 1 and 2, xmen 2000, xmen 2, xmen first class. Logan, and days of future????? Some non-mcu movies have sucked (Spider-Man 3, xmen apocalypse and woleverine origins) but I would not say “in general.” If venom is on par with those first movies I listed it will be well received by critics and fans. I hope so

You can't really measure Deadpool and Logan against the MCU because of their Rated-R natures.

    X-Men and X2 both preceded the MCU's existence (as did X-Men 3).

IMO First Class sucked. Days of Future's Past was good, though. And then Apocalypse sucked.

I hope Venom is good, but I'm very skeptical. At least they did well by casting Tom Hardy.

  5. As an Owner, Employee, or Customer, is it frowned upon to read comics at a shop (that you may not buy)? I've recently been visiting an LCS about a mile from my home. Over the past couple of years, I've dropped in a few times to catch the vibe, another couple of times to see the extent of their inventory, and I've bought some comics the last few times. I just bought a couple of Superman issues I knew I'd be interested in (the rebooted Superman [Vol. 4?] #1 and Action Comics 9xx post-New 52). As a newer customer, I don't want to seem rude or anything. The comic shop I used to visit when I was a teenager didn't have comics open for reading. You bought whatever you opened (I don't recall seeing them having new issues). This place that I've been dropping into recently has tons of monthly/bi-weeklies/weekly new comics, though.

Sorry for the really long explanation!

I was gonna post another topic for this, but if you can give me 2 answers that would be even better! How can I expand my comic book knowledge and be a better contributor to the site? I'm probably a genius when it comes to the cinematic universes, but my book knowledge is fairly lacking in comparison. So many of you know iconic covers, first appearances, can names issues from a partial cover or a single panel. Where do I even start, and how do I continue to develop my knowledge base?

It is a reality that hasn't happened yet. Heard a lot of the same stuff after the market tanked in 2000, 2008, etc. and it hasn't even tanked yet! All we need is 5 million 25 year old highly skilled braniac Indians to come here and jump start our demographics! (Sorry if that is offensive to anyone...)

Reality has been slowly devolving into Idiocracy for awhile. It is depressing...

    Camacho for President 2020.

  7. I'm all-for comic book movies deviating from source material. It's fun not knowing exactly what's going to happen in every movie and every plot/story, but...

Has there ever been a Venom origin in which it didn't develop from Spider-Man..? I don't like the concept of Venom's appearance not having the white spider, and him having the spider-like abilities without adapting them from his bond to Spider-Man. To me, that iconic relationship is important to bringing the adaptation to life on the big screen for me. Otherwise, it's not really Venom to me.

  8. I've been saying this since about a week after it hit theaters... If you have to constantly defend and explain your movie (Rian Johnson) then it sucked. He came out with "new info" every week for a couple of months in an attempt to tell fans why something was the way it is in the film. I shouldn't have to research information before or after a movie when seeing it to understand your crappy story and direction. When you have Luke ditch his (and his father's) lightsaber as some sort of gag, and a "your mom" joke in the first 10 minutes, holy cow... I've ranted about this forever.

Every single person I know, and have talked to personally, doesn't like this movie. So that's about 50-60 people. I take that back. My younger brother admitted that he likes anything Star Wars. He doesn't care what happens, he'll enjoy it. It's a stupid perception, IMO, but I'll let him have his fun.

I'm not one of those, "the movie wasn't exactly how I predicted/wanted", people. I did want to see a movie that makes sense and doesn't waste my time, though. The Last Jedi didn't make sense, and the 30-minute sub-plot literally wasted everyone's time, and that time could've been used to progress the story. Even though half of the story was a slow space-chase... Ugh...
