  1. Sad story: My dad (in his 50's) still hasn't seen it. I've been harassing him for years to see it.
  2. Reality has been slowly devolving into Idiocracy for awhile. It is depressing... Camacho for President 2020.
  3. I'm a little disappointed that they didn't drop a trailer on Wednesday. I still can't see Brie Larson as anyone other than the high school girl in 21 Jump Street.
  4. I LOVE the death of the X-Force characters. That made this a great movie for me. Expecting a big team-up and it doesn't happen lol. I think it's slightly better than the first Deadpool movie. That's no sleight.
  5. I'm all-for comic book movies deviating from source material. It's fun not knowing exactly what's going to happen in every movie and every plot/story, but... Has there ever been a Venom origin in which it didn't develop from Spider-Man..? I don't like the concept of Venom's appearance not having the white spider, and him having the spider-like abilities without adapting them from his bond to Spider-Man. To me, that iconic relationship is important to bringing the adaptation to life on the big screen for me. Otherwise, it's not really Venom to me.
  6. I've been saying this since about a week after it hit theaters... If you have to constantly defend and explain your movie (Rian Johnson) then it sucked. He came out with "new info" every week for a couple of months in an attempt to tell fans why something was the way it is in the film. I shouldn't have to research information before or after a movie when seeing it to understand your crappy story and direction. When you have Luke ditch his (and his father's) lightsaber as some sort of gag, and a "your mom" joke in the first 10 minutes, holy cow... I've ranted about this forever. Every single person I know, and have talked to personally, doesn't like this movie. So that's about 50-60 people. I take that back. My younger brother admitted that he likes anything Star Wars. He doesn't care what happens, he'll enjoy it. It's a stupid perception, IMO, but I'll let him have his fun. I'm not one of those, "the movie wasn't exactly how I predicted/wanted", people. I did want to see a movie that makes sense and doesn't waste my time, though. The Last Jedi didn't make sense, and the 30-minute sub-plot literally wasted everyone's time, and that time could've been used to progress the story. Even though half of the story was a slow space-chase... Ugh...
  7. Great movie. A 5/5 for me. The only thing that I didn't like was the death of Klaue. I wanted to see more of him in a Black Panther sequel.
  8. That sucks. I've only ever left negative feedback prior to contacting the seller if it was a big mistake on a small order. For example, I bought 2 copies of a single card on TCGplayer, and the seller only shipped 1... Had the order been 10+ different cards, like I usually order, a small screw-up isn't a big deal. If you screw up a quantity on 1 card, that's really crappy business IMO. Subjective grading is something that, as a buyer, I couldn't hold against the seller unless you're saying it's a 9.0 and it looks like a 1.0. Even then, I personally have no idea how to grade books yet... Hopefully the buyer gives you a chance to rectify this small potato.
  9. I have to agree that, when it comes to high-priced hobby items, dealing outside of eBay and within communities offer better experiences.
  10. I'm all for Hall of Shame users being banned until/if they get paroled. Maybe Probation users can't post in Buy/Sell threads and can't PM while on the list? Something less severe.
  11. Yeah, Hulk isn't necessarily scared of Thanos, but he's sick of just fighting for Banner. Avengers: End Game (or whatever it might be called) is going to finish this 3-story arc (that started in Ragnarok) between Banner and The Hulk. Professor Hulk is expected to make his appearance in the next one. I, for one, was more surprised than disappointed in the lack of Hulk. I was kinda expecting Hulk to tear the Black Order apart after being embarrassed by Thanos on the Asgardian refugee vessel. It was nice to see Banner actually do something other than get mad and turn green.
  12. I'm not interested in arguing. If you're seriously going to sit there and say that a bagged and boarded comic is equally as safe as a CGC-graded comic, then we have no business having a conversation. Good day.
  13. It's safer in a hard plastic case, though. For a lot of people, it's not just a piece of history, but also an investment. I have 2 cats, so you can bet that there is no way I'm displaying any comics in just board and mylar at my place lol.
  14. "Would be 10 Gem Mint if I knew what Dranzer is. Grading 9.8 because of this." - Grader
  15. I have a lot of "more readable" versions of books that I've collected. The Dark Knight Returns anniversary hardcover, The Death of Superman omnibus hardcover, Marvel Famous Firsts slipcase, Civil War crossover slipcase, etc. Most of my collection will be Signature Series stuff on display, and a readable copy on a bookshelf or in a cabinet. I think that most people want to preserve the history of stuff from the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Ages. It makes sense to me.
  16. I once bought a Jace, the Mind Sculptor (Magic: the Gathering Card) for $70 a couple of years ago. The seller messaged me a day after shipping, "another buyer claims they received a fake card", and to let him know if any problems arise. Well, lo and behold, I receive a fake card. I message the buyer and receive no response for 3 days. I leave negative feedback and let eBay know the seller was contacted. The seller tried to leave negative feedback, but because of my immediate payment and contact, he couldn't leave less than 5 stars. The comment was: "Buyer is a loser. Needs to get a life. Just a card." Lol. Because of that experience, I don't always avoid all buyers and sellers who may have negative feedback. There are jabronis out there with no shame, who want the other person to suffer, for their own misdoings.
  17. If they're all printed 1975 and later, then the Modern Tier is your best option, if I'm not mistaken. I'm in the same boat of not having submitted any books myself, yet.
  18. Re-holder Tier is for comic books that have already been graded. They may be in an older-generation case, or the case may be damaged, and you want the comic book to receive a new CGC slab.
  19. I had to Google if this ever happened, because I was confused...
