  1. Planning on listing a few books in the assorted thread tommorrow. There is a lot of Werewolf by Night that look 9.2 at first glance but have a couple of non color breaking dimples to bring them down a bit...27,39,41, & 43....along with a 37 that has a very impacted lower left spine that would otherwise be 9.2. These will be sold as a lot. Also an FF 61 that has a couple VERY tiny chips in the top overhang....otherwise 9.0. There will also be a Brave and the Bold 85 in Fine condition. All books will be at a significant discount to guide. GOD BLESS...

  2. Picked up some books at the local Richmond show and will be listing them either Monday night or Tuesday morning....Amazing Ghost Stories 14 & 15, Raggedy Ann and Andy 4, Adventures of the Fly 1 & 2, the 212 page Peter Pan Dell Giant, TTA 49, and TOS 45,46,49, and 50. The SA books are all fairly sharp. All books are unrestored raw. GOD BLESS...

P.S. For the low to mid grade lovers there will be copies of JIM 84,85, and 89.

I decided to reduce the prices on most of these today....they were priced too aggressively. I'm not so good at pricing raw, and apologize for the confusion. Thanks to all who already looked.GOD BLESS...

  4. +3 on the good looking 1.8. Is there a back cover defect we're not seeing that brings the grade down? I'd be proud to own that copy! (thumbs u

Is that a hole in the bottom right of the FC? Near Mr. F's left arm?

No hole ....must be a glitch in the pic. It's got it's share of feather creasing...FF 1 is very forgiving of defects. There's a one inch tear in the center of the back cover and a small piece off of the upper right corner. It seems to me that the Good spectrum is about the toughest range to nail down. This book would be hard to grade...I can see why it got a 1.8.....but I can also see why it could get a 2.5...a very tough book to grade. Here's a back cover scan....and thanks for all the comments, guys.GOD BLESS...

  5. I was allowed 9 months to pay off my books....but a lot were gone when I got there. If you're lucky enough to find them for sale, they're excellent candidates for pressing as many of their defects are non color breaking curls and folds. The books I just posted belong to a friend as I sold mine a few years ago...the last was an FF 13 that goldust40 has now. I should have kept my TTA 31,44, JIM 70, 78, OAAW 128, MIS 75, and Superman 158, as they all would have pressed out at 9.4. GOD BLESS...

  6. A friend of mine owns a comic store....this elderly man comes in with an apple crate full of old Lone Rangers and Roy Rogers in real decent shape. My friend looks at the books and says he can't offer too much because he doesn't have many buyers for that type of stuff. The man proceeds to tell him he has a couple thousand more books stored in hat boxes and apple crates...and brings them in and leaves them with my buddy to assess....2 thousand books from 1955 to 1964....AF 15, JIM 83, ASM 1, TOS 39, TTA 27, and loads of D.C.'s too.The guy wanted to sell to pay off some medical bills and my buddy was honest with him, telling him they were very valuable. They then worked out a consignment deal. Quite a few sold to some local collectors, some at auction(HERITAGE), and then Chris Foss bought the rest....mini runs of everything you could think of. I bought close to 50 books , OAAW, Pre Hero Marvels, Supes, MIS, and a couple early FF's and ASM's. The books had PQ ranging from C/OW to White with FULL gloss.GOD BLESS...

  7. Here's a few pre heros from the RJ Long collection....an original owner batch of about 2000 books that surfaced locally about 8 years ago. Nice books ....average is VF although there was an ASM 1 that snagged a 9.2 grade from CGC. GOD BLESS...

  8. Anyone here bid on the CGC 6.5 Venus #18 on ebay that just closed? Wow. I sold it for $700 on the boards here and it went for $875!! That's a little nutty. I knew those Venus 17-19 were tough but wow.

I was just going to post about that. I was tracking it, but never had a chance to bid. Should have bought it on here when I had the chance!

Yeah....I was thinking about snagging it too, and I've already got a copy. If I had known the back cover was so white I'd have jumped on it. One of my favorite comics.GOD BLESS...

  9. FF21 is more important than any Nick Fury book.

FF 21 was definitely not just a half baked idea. It followed closely behind SFURY 3 where Reed met Fury as an operative of the OSS ,another intelligence organization.Stan was definitely going somewhere with it.I think SHIELD morphed out of Bond's SPECTRE and the Man from UNCLE ,which were both extremely popular at the time.GOD BLESS...

  10. Just got this from Roy....I don't think I'll ever get tired of these pre hero Marvels. I suppose this would be the first one in that genre for them....December 1958. GOD BLESS...
