  1. Great issue. I love issue 25 and 26. How long have you been chasing FFs Rube?

Well since I decided to sell my Flash run because trying to continue picking up the "highest graded copies" became an uphill battle. FF's were the Marvel books I always enjoyed reading and have a complete run of readers from 1-60. I thought it might be "less expensive" to pickup 9.0 copies of that same run along with trying to collect 9.4's of The Atom on the DC side. Of course even picking up 9.0 are sometimes not so easy to. There are some nice 9.0 in the Heritage auction that I am looking at.

    Rube

That 9.0 FF 13 they have is VERY tough in grade....the C/OW PQ might make it affordable. I would also try for the 18 in 9.0....another that NEVER turns up in that grade.I enjoy watching you put your run together....it's a tough one in 9.0....especially the # 3.GOD BLESS...

  3. :cloud9: my thread stays alive...

I guess this is THE place to point out the extremely strong FF run that is stacking up for the November Signature auction...one of the nicest I've seen in a while. That FF 50 in CGC 9.4 should prove "veddy interesting". I wouldn't be surprised to see it hit 10 K. The Curator TTA 44 in CGC 9.4 is another one to watch.GOD BLESS...

NICE.....FF 35 was my first early FF ...and one of my favorites. My Mom brought it home from a Church Bazzaar that my young punk arse was too lazy to go to.She said there was a room full of comics :pullhair: ....GOD BLESS...

  5. Here's a sharp copy of a book I've wanted for years. This came from Lee's Comics - A+ guy BTW. This issue is a real gem among the post-code Atlas war books. Interior by Colan, Williamson, Drucker - as well as an artist named Bill Walton. Not to mention a phenomenal Heath cover - about as life-like as line drawn art gets. I wish I could get a scan that represents the cross-hatching as well as it is in person.

That book is deserving of Cassic Cover status....Atlas put out some real choice stuff after the Comics Code kicked in.I guess they were pulling out all the stops trying to stay in business.GOD BLESS...

  6. :applause: :applause:

Today I received Volume 3 of the Marvel Masterworks of Atlas Heroes with nothing but reprints of the Sub-Mariner series with TONS of Everett art and also interesting fish stories by other artists including a nice Shark! story by Joe Maneely. That's a volume to pick up. I believe Jimbo mentioned it elsewhere and I can only agree that it's a strong reprint book (thumbs u

I can't wait to get that book....a phat hardcover packed full of Everett delights....bug eyed Atlanteans, Namora hotness, mad scientist gizmos, and gnarly sea monsters. Several stories I haven't even read yet....It may end up as my favorite of all the Masterworks. GOD BLESS....

  7. I went to a small con here in Montreal this afternoon (for details see the thread in Comics Events) and picked up this nice VF book from Harley Yee.

    Is that Maneely cross-hatching?

Definitely not Maneely and most likely Burgos

Ah. I see. I haven't seen a lot of Burgos work except in the occasion HT Strange Tales story and Maneely usually signed his name on covers.

I've got a pre code Atlas with a Maneely story and a Burgos story and it's very difficult to tell the difference....you'd think it was two Maneelys.I'm not an expert , but Maneely seems to have a greater depth of facial expression and variety in face types.GOD BLESS...

  8. Hi Jimbo

Nice to see this book go to a good home. If you are interested, I bought this book from Harley Yee 15 years ago in London (he used to come over for a couple of UK shows each year - I think it was Storey's Gate - the UK guys will remember). So I guess it has found its way home.

The page quality is excellent - the book has been sat in archival Mylar D all that time.

    Regards

    Alan (Glasgap, UK)

Cool story.....I can see why they gave it a 7.0...but i has to be one of the nicest 7.0's I've ever seen. Thanks for letting it go...hope it allowed you to get something awesome.GOD BLESS...
