  5. Even though those Church photos are blurry, the comics look so white and the covers so clean that they don't at all look like they are that old (and they were old when the photo was taken!). Unbelievable.

Ciorac, its one thing to see your books , but another to see your books in the RAW!! That photo of your unbagged books stacked up is killer, esp. with the Mystery Men #1, Weird #3, and other great FOX books sitting right on the top!

    Thanks for those photos!! 893applaud-thumb.gif

Actually,if you think about it,the Church copies weren't any older then, than Bronze age is now. That photo of Chuck with the adding machine is priceless.I'd like to have a T-shirt with that on it.GOD BLESS...

  6. I used to have a page of original Kirby art from "Bombu", JiM #60... no monster panel on the page, so I got it for $50.

Marvel pre-heroes were among the first comics I read as I kid in 1961, '62.

When will Marvel put out a serious reprint series of the pre-hero issues?

I just ordered "Marvel Visionaries: Steve Ditko" from a comic book store before learning there was a 2 month eta. But I'll wait. It's got several Amazing Fantasy stories.

Here's one of the several Marvel westerns with a monster theme:

Crawdad, I always liked the monster and super-villain issues of the early Silver Age Marvel Westerns.

You can probably buy the Steve Ditko Visionaries book from Amazon with no 2-week ETA.

Also, Marvel put out a Tales to Astonish Masterworks earlier this year that reprints issues 1 - 10 in their entirety. They say they have plans to do that with the other pre-hero titles, which would be fantastic if they stick to it and put them all out.

Also, the Stan Lee Visionaries book has a few pre-hero stories in it.

Rumor has it that TOS # 1-10 is next on the block.GOD BLESS...

  9. My main reason for tossing out the $350k figure is that I believe a top bid from an individual in that range would be required to keep the book together. This book would make a nice exhibit at the Geppi Museum,by the way. With asking prices and unaccepted cash offers for single comic books approaching the 300k level more and more often, that price for a full original art ASM story from a classic storyline that is still in very clean condition just doesn't seem THAT outlandish. If I had a net worth of say 10 million(which MANY people do),I would seriously consider going that high, but I'm a Ditko ASM NUT.I definitely think that it is possible, though probably won't happen. There are certainly several factors that make this lot difficult to predict.GOD BLESS...
