Traded a few books for a short box of miscellaneous D.C. books. I'm starting off with a couple dozen and we'll see how they go. Most will be reasonable and are typically mid to upper mid grade. Due to some recent health issues, I may be a little slow. Thanks for looking GOD BLESS ...

BOOKS OVER $ 1000 MAY BE SHIPPED REGISTERED MAIL .
2)Shipping cost to other Countries will vary..... if I am unable to fully insure, the risk will be YOURS. I use signature confirmation... As is the bane of collector's everywhere, I was short on funds a few years ago, and had to sell the prettiest J.O. #53 I had ever owned, I had resigned myself to going without forevermore. I did a trade with a local dealer for a short box of SA/BA D.C.'s and lo and behold, this was in it. While not as nice as my first, this one ain't too shabby. GOD BLESS ...

it was always a silly origin story.... took DC over a year to realize maybe they needed one! Then just threw together a plot to bring them together. Read like any of the other issues, too. but dang, it HAS been a key for decades, so prob the 8.0 grade explains it better than the content. How much does anyone want to pay in 2024 for a VF copy of a lesser key DC anyway? In a pretty dead title too!
It's not terribly scarce either, but it does look sharp in grade. GOD BLESS ...

All good thoughts here. Me, I'm really glad there are great books like the FFMs with better covers that are still available and relatively affordable. I dig the covers and it's been rewarding to land them when I can.
As I continue to delve into e.g. 1930s and 40s weird menace books, it's clear that some issues I would love either 1) are literally not available at all in any condition, or 2) are available but are sitting in ebay stores and MCS with outlandish four-figure pricetags, collecting digital dust. I of course understand that sometimes you need to go big for rare books or go without. But it's not that hard to compare the store prices to Heritage sales from the last year or two to see why (some of them, at least) are sitting.
...this is not directed at you, specifically, Jon ... but sometimes we collectors can be too frugal for our own good. We bristle at spending an additional $50 on something we really want, only to spend $50 worth of time in the future, lamenting our indecisiveness. I speak from experience. GOD BLESS ...

Naked bodies have been part of art high and low since the cavemen
I've been posting semi-naked girls in the girlie pulp thread or even some more transgressive stuffs in the underground thread. It's part of what we collect, and I truly doubt any minors are wandering around here, and, if they are, I'm sure nothing we post even registers on the shocking scale given the depredations of the modern internet. If I get a warning, I may moderate, but we seem do to do fine...
I'm happy to look at whatevs and am pretty sure Bilbrew wanders into some of the magazine areas I collect in like in this 50s girlie mag:
but I really wouldn't have the first clue in being able to distinguish him from imitators.
Nice copy of Black Opium there, Jim!
Thank you, figured that one would be on the permanent wish list.

I once had a Frazetta pen and ink scan (The Giantess) from an issue of Gallery removed for nudity, but the thread itself was drifting towards the off color.

I'd never heard of him, and don't mind a tutorial. I'm certainly not a gay basher, my God Son is gay and my God Daughter thought she was for ages, until she met Jesus. I'm not talking about religion, the guy's actual name is Jesus. I call him the "young bohemian", and he actually knew what that meant, so I'm definitely warming to him. @Black Cactus, just be careful with full volume nudity, as it's discouraged here. Mike may be more tolerant in the paperback area, as there's a LOT of it out there, but I wouldn't assume. GOD BLESS...

Seems like they are really focused on small overhang tears. Many would actually be considered production faults. If trimming is allowed as blue, I can see some folks trimming their overhangs to avoid the overhang tear stigma…
I was told that back in the day, the trimming was done so the book could stand right on a shelf and the overhangs wouldn't worsen. GOD BLESS ...

This is where the troubles began. The space and time limitations impede the implementation of that, in the fullest sense. With a quick check of eBay, I found only one CGC Slab of a Halloween cover with the notation on the slab, a GA issue of Flash Comics. It's always been my understanding that additional label graphics cost extra if allowed at all. You could lobby them, they are willing to change their minds on occasion. GOD BLESS ...

Unhappy Hooligan - Stuart Palmer (1957. Perma Books M 3079) cover James Meese
I saw this recently when @Robot Man mentioned clowns on pulp covers and had to have it. Things never do go well for us clowns. It's a plentiful book, and I picked up a cheap copy, but I almost wish I'd found a truly downtrodden beater for the aesthetics of the thing...
If I find you a beater, maybe we can swap out? ... I'm magnanimous enough to take that shiny monstrosity off your hands. I mean, the audacity of that book, daring to shine while others can't. GOD BLESS ...

I was not buying X-Men off the rack at the time, although I had picked up a few back issues when I saw them at the LCS. I'm pretty sure I never saw this issue either on the rack or in the back issue boxes. I did get a #112 at some point. #94 came out about a year before I waken up and started speculating on a few things (like Howard the Duck, Eternals, Nova, etc) which were, of course, precisely the wrong things on which to speculate. Before that, it just never occurred to me, despite agreeing with the kids view that "these will be worth a million dollars some day!"
I bought 5 mint copies of OMAC #1 ...it was Kirby, it HAD to be a winner. I did ,however, buy 3 copies of Thor 337 and 50 copies of ASM 361. GOD BLESS ...
