  1. I got a comic signed by Peter Cullen and Welker over the weekend and was going to do the onsite JSA authentication ($10 each)

I asked if that would mean I could bypass the CGC JSA and ther said NO - If I JSAed there, I would have to again through CGC -

What is the point of that - It totally diminishes JSA's credibility if I have to do it twice and defeats the purpose - CGC needs to find a solution for this I think...

  2. The only real KEY in the series is issue 9, which is the first appearance of a character who was very very popular in the series of games but not the movies or tv yet. So I can see that one -

Maybe THE ACOLYTE series Disney+ is doing is bringing interest to the pre-films era of Jedi?  Also those comics came out at a strange time for Star Wars so perhaps there just wasnt interest / low print runs?

  3. Hi All

Kind of a random observation but I have been getting into the KOTOR series and thought it would be fun to do a 9.8 run - Based on "Key Collector"  I looked up the keys and many in 9.8 are like, $50-70 ... Ok fine  (I have the big keys already)

Then I saw issues like 13, 27, 29 etc... Selling for 80-100 in 9.8.  I cant figure out why. Lower print runs? Am I missing something?

I know Star Wars collectors can go high on some things but so many OTHER issues arent touching 100, and wondering whats up with those?

    Thanks!

  4. Well honestly its not a spectacular collection or anything - A lot of the money is from a few nice carded STAR WARS figures I have - THe climate where I live (High Desert) isnt conducive to keeping them properly displayed (Dry and with large temperature shifts) so instead of waiting for the bubbles to pop off the card backs, selling them seems to be the smarter move  - Plus i have a lot of toys I had teh "will display one day" plan with for like years now so that can all go........

  5. Hi All

Long story short - been collecting comics for a few years, and toys for 2+ decades.

Recently my mom passed away. My dad had already passed so it was my duty to clean out her house. She was a wonderful mom but the house was like a hoarder situation - Just drawers and cabinets all full of "stuff" - and now after going through that I seem to find myself in a state of repulsion over "stuff" and Im feeling really suffocated by these toys. (That's what I like about my smallish comic collection - fits in one short box)

Anyways - I like to keep my "collection" funds separate from my other stuff - I already have different accts for savings, retirement all that stuff - The "hobby" stays in "hobby" - So I know if I just sell a bunch of stuff (maybe 10K worth) and hold onto the money in an acct Ill just spend it on other things slowly over time. So I figured it would be cool to just put the money into a comic, since i already collect comics, and it's a huge space saver.

So - Where would you put 10k?  I ALWAYS wanted a XMEN 1 or Spiderman 1 but with today's prices you can BARELY get into those for 10K.
Also I guess it could be like Hulk 181, ASM 129 - a few "big books" I have always wanted - I just dont know!

This isnt a "comics arent an investment" thing - just trying ot kind of refocus too much stuff into much less.....

  6. Hi All

Im very excited - After a natural disaster killed the release last year (sigh)  my book REST IN PEACE will be releasing in September!

It would mean the world to me - if you like kids books, monsters, or Halloween - if you would consider pre-ordering a copy, or recommending it to a parent who might!

Or, if you have a local library, Comic Shop, or bookstore, ask them to pick it up - It is distributed by Simon and Schuster.

It's so hard to launch a new kids series, especially when you are a first time author with no marketing background, so I sincerely appreciate any bit of support I can get!

    Thank you!!!

  7. Hi all!

I have written a kids book called REST IN PEACE that is being published by the Scout Comics imprint Black Caravan. Its being distributed via PREVIEWS so if you could, I would really appreciate anyone who is willing to ask their LCS to order a few copies! Thank you so much!

  8. Hi All!

I bought a loose figure on ebay from Brazil a while back specifically because it came with a rare loose cardback -  and when it got here the already poorly packed box looked like it was run over after being tug of wared with 2 pitbulls.

Lots of creasing - some color breaking some not - But I was thinking a press could do some good for it, although not sure if a press would work with cardboard.

    Anyone try this before?

Ill upload pics in a bit - The cardback has been packed away so I have to dig it out  :)
