  1. Congrats man! Nice work. I'm on my way to completing the trilogy. Should be roughly couple of months. I'm still waiting for my coupon book. It's a bronze ASM I got to continue the story line from another subsequent issue I already have
  2. Reposting in honor of ASM 797 1st print cover. Love the goblin! ??
  3. Yes! I made an offer on eBay for an ASM 94 once & GPA recorded the original bin. There was a pretty big difference there. I don't know if that's GPA's fault or eBay's?
  4. Doctor Strange is not a household name. Strange tales is not a well known title to those who don't live & breath comics. Thinking of that in low grade as investment is getting too cute. Which others? To the extent there is such thing as investment books they'd involve the obvious classic title keys first/early appearances of better known characters IMO. Giant size Spider-man 4 is hot at the moment.
  5. Mainly because they were white pagers on books that where not so easily found in white. It wasn't because of the sticker. I personally put a high premium on white pages but that's just me. The market has determined that CVA designation to be of significant value. It's probably not that popular on this message board but it obviously has its high dollar supporters There's an authorization search tool on the CVA site but it's still under construction. Do you think Clink would auction off phoney CVA books?
  6. I've been involved in 2 auctions for CVA books. Both of them went for over 100% above market average. That sticker carries a hefty premium!
  7. Weird because mostly the rest of their items seem pretty reasonably priced.
  8. Hey I don't blame the guy. With listings like this who wouldn't be a little frightened? https://m.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spiderman-89-1st-series-Fine-condition/122940761611?_trksid=p2504926.m5232.l9681 And to top it off you get a new bag & board!!
  9. Can you imagine modern day IM looking for a wall outlet while in his underwear to recharge his chest plate? No power supply drones back then! Very bronzy age
  10. Well, the fact that it's a constrictor with fangs would suggest it's a super snake. The snake got into a laboratory & smashed into a bunch of rocket fuel compounds turning it into mutated snake. Stark's arms & legs are still exposed with the armor. Furthermore the armor has had several power & protective enhancements throughout the years. This is only the third version of the armor after the classic gray & gold versions.
  11. Nah! Those others were extreme circumstances LoL. So long as the books not moving or the slab looks like it's been drop kicked or used for batting practice I'm good ! It's staying where it is
  12. Two re-slabs just back in. It was all worth it!
  13. Another re-slab. The old one was just awful!
  14. Had this re-slabbed. Just got it in. I'd say the cost & the trouble was worth it. Had to darken the image a bit so the label would show better.
  15. Ok maybe there was another auction or that price didn't include an extra premium or something. I'm going by the this auction https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbr.com/original-art-for-first-wolverine-appearance-sells-for-657250/amp/
  16. Holy s**t! He doesn't look too bad in that picture for someone just experiencing a major heart attack. Glad all's well. He'd be wise in taking this warning sign seriously. Wishing him the very best!!!
  17. It's been that way since at least around 2 am this morning
  18. Courtesy of @gregreece. Thanks for offering this & for fast shipping! Last 20 cent issue.
  19. That's a real hum dinger there!!! Last auction was in 2014 and it sold for something over 650k! What an impressive piece of history
  20. Interesting to see how these various artists have drawn superheroes throughout the decades. Their arms & legs have gotten progressively larger while the waistlines have gone progressively smaller. Maybe the most vivid examples might be green goblin & Flash! Anyways, not a GA fan but it's a real gem of a book there. Restored or not!
  21. I agree. I live in Miami one of the areas of the world with the highest levels of humidity. Especially during the summer months. I've had a bunch of raw books I bought in 1990 that haven't changed one bit since the day I bought em. They still look new including the staples. I haven't even taken particular care with them either. Also have a several beat up raw ASM books from early 70's that my older cousin owned since the 80's. They also appear exactly as I remember when I first saw them.
  22. A pedigree 180 recently sold for ~6400! I wish my private purchase would get listed on GPA!!! So damn frustrating because it would affect the value. Not majorly but it would affect it. Anyways, I think you can never go wrong with the best IH 181 or ASM 129 you can find for 3k. Perhaps giant size x-men 1 or x-men 94. ASM 50, 9.0 or 9.2 if you're lucky (first kingpin) is one I love but maybe not for longer term speculation.
  23. What's his 3rd? CGC says it's giant size Spider-man 4. I suppose they don't count cameos?
