  1. Thank you! I am hoping to turn at least a few 5.0s and I will be posting more FMs in the coming weeks and go from there.
  2. Thank you for educating me on the grading process and the small history behind the series. I literally have boxes of Famous Monsters passed down from my dad and I will be posting more in the coming days from the earlier issues. This genre of magazines have a very small cult following so finding an interested retailer has become quite the difficult task. I figure I will slab my most wanted/early issues to try to get the most bang for my buck. The difference between a CGC and raw magazine price value is drastic!
  3. Greetings everyone. I have boxes and boxes of Famous Monsters magazines lying around and these are my three earliest issues and I was wondering if they are in good enough condition and hold enough value to send them in for CGC grading. #2 #7 #9 Thanks for looking! I do appreciate any grading inputs.
  4. Spine ticks, what appears to be width long crease on the front bottom cover, the back crease OP pointed out and the blunted edges. Low quality res, those are the things I managed to pick out.
  5. I can't see this being graded higher than a 2.0. That isn't a small piece sawed off, both front and back.
  6. 5.5 CGC, maybe a 6.0 if they are feeling somewhat generous.
  7. I don’t see this being a 9.0 in any way. 3 tears(possible 1 piece missing) on the back alone plus the piece missing on the front top left leaves this out of NM territory.
  8. Is that a missing piece on the back bottom left?
  9. The way I have been seeing CGC grade lately I will go with 7.0.
  10. Again, very nice. Pegged it at a 6.0. I'm getting better.
  11. Very nice! I was going to post a 5.0 before looking at your CGC. Keep that baby close.
  12. My Comic Shop is the first to come to mind. It uses a barcode scanner to inventory all of your magazines and comics collection. https://www.mycomicshop.com/webuycomics/recordbarcodes Note: This only works for post-1993 comics. Also check out: https://www.collectorz.com/comic and https://comicbase.com/mycb/Updates_Current.aspx and https://www.comicbase.com/mycb/Products/Free_2017.aspx
  13. 3.5 as well. The back cover is in much better condition that the front.
  14. Pardon the ignorance, what defects should I be seeing when looking at this?
  15. Tough one to grade. Not sure if the bottom staple is detached or just loose. No significant tears or missing pieces, I'll mark it as a 3.0.
  16. After much deliberation, I'm going with a 4.5, could stretch to a 5.0 without seeing the inside.
  17. Copy A: 8.0 Copy B: 8.5, possibly an 8.0 Impressive copies.
  18. I'm going with an 8.5. The very small tear on the front bottom left keeps it from a 9.0.
  19. I wouldn't dip it that much. A 7.5 can still have a minor tear such as this. I'm sticking with a 7.5
  20. This is 6.5/7.0 territory. Leaning towards 7. The blunted corners and spine ticks are really what bring it down.
  21. My father never sent in any of his magazines to be graded. I know for a fact that he purchased his slabbed magazines online years ago. Thank you, will take your advice. Eeeek! I wasn't aware it was an $80 per magazine! I will definitely have to consider what I will be sending in with a fine tooth comb.
