  1. Purchases, bought a spider-man #1 2.0, Spider-man #300, and pretty well a complete x-men run from #116 to #149. I picked up a couple books for my collection.
  2. Whew , busy show. Sales were pretty good. Sold a few higher value books but not a lot. Mostly $10 to $100 stuff and lots of books out our $3 bins. Of course anything Mcfarlane related moved, all our Spawn #1 and #9 and various issues from the run, various ASM Mcfarlane issues with a lot of requests for #316, Spider-Man #1s I think we sold 6 copies, his first DC cover infinity #14 sold and the buyer came back and showed us the book with a Mcfarlane sig and it looked wonderful. All kinds of stuff sold, there’s no understanding the hundreds of odd sales. I think that’s great as while there are the usual popular characters there are fans and buyers for almost any character that was published for a while
  3. They are wonderful. As I believe I mentioned before in this thread they were reprinted in 2022 in poster book format. They are high quality and much cheaper than the originals.
  4. Grades in. Some of you guys who can actually grade should take a shot...
  5. Agreed, I would often just pick a direction and start wandering with my pipboy playing music. Especially fallout vegas
  6. No complaints. Thanks for all the hard work organizing the poll
  7. Could you describe how you humidify books for pressing? Did you do anything while humidifying your books differently?
  8. When I didn't get my book I went back to his ebay listings and noticed he had quite a few books listed 2 or 3 times. I'd imagine the book I picked was long gone and I was buying from the duplicate listing. Looking back I probably should have chalked it all up to a donation and forgot the book but I felt like 'gol durn, I paid for a book, where is it' and I got stubborn.
  9. My quick and easy search for value is https://www.keycollectorcomics.com/series/savage-sword-of-conan,6627/?groupBy=issue&orderBy=publishedDate
  10. Agreed. I don't see any cooling of the good stuff.
  11. How can you not buy that? I've developed a love for foreign editions.
  12. Tough round for me. There's 8 or 9 I really like.
  13. So here's where I'm at. I've used a couple local pressors. One kept my books for more than 3 months before submitting to CGC, I believe he was waiting for enough customer's books to fill a short box. I wasn't too happy with the delay but to be fair speed isn't my #1 priority, getting books pressed safely and with good results is most important. And while all of the books he pressed came back as I expected there were no 'good' surprises. Nothing that surprised me to the positive. The second pressor only worked on one book, Hulk 181, and I was happy with the result. He's actually 200 miles South of me so it's a pain to deliver and pick up books from him so haven't used him since. But a few years ago his business imploded, there's accusations of partners taking money and missing books and it's a mess. So my gentle advice is to be very very careful who you pick to work on your books. If something goes wrong you may be in a world of hurt and you'll have no good resolution. Look for someone who's been in the pressing business for a long time and who has a sterling reputation. If you want to choose a local guy who you can get to know face-to-face I can understand that. As far as reducing the amount of shipping I don't see any difference between giving them to a local guy and him sending them to CGC versus sending them to a pressor located in Florida who delivers them to CGC after he's done his work. There's shipping to Florida either way and you'll have to drive to a local location versus the pressor driving to the local CGC facility. And if you want to read a thread about 'trusted restoration/pressing company' going wrong check this out. It's a Stephen King comic horror movie.
