  1. I realize this is a charity auction ut if I don't get some serious bids soon, I'm canceling the whole thing and moing the auction to another site. I was expecting to raise hundreds of dollars for this cause and if I don't I'll make the donation myself and moe the books elsewhere. To say I'm disappointed would be a tad of an understatement.
  2. That may no longer be the case.
  3. It appears the book was graded in 2015 so it's not a recent development.
  4. Groo has always been a long term hold for me, and I love reading them as well. I always thought HBO or a similar channel would pick up an animated series but that ship has most likely already sailed.
  5. Lot 4 Moon Knight #1 This book is hot and continues to surprise me. 8.0/8.5 but could use a C&P.
  6. Lot 2) Marvel and DC Present The Uncanny X-Men and the New Teen Titans The legendary company crossover. Borderline 9.0 Lot 3 Batman 307 HOT HOT book right now as rumors about something have caused this book to explode Let's call it a 4.5
  7. Not sure what went wrong but I'm not giving books away for nothing. The books are going to MCS and I'll donate the sales to the charity. Lot 1) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 ( Archie) Issue 1 of the three issue mini-series I'm calling it an 9.0. No major issues but the BC has some dirt on it.
  8. This is like the old telestar days, where you'd get a response and three seconds later you'd get the same response again. It may not have been an agreement with the publishers ,at all. It may have been with the printers themselves. One of the legal issues with the Mile High 2 collection was did it belong to Marvel or were the books the property of the printers.
  9. I'd be surprised that Marvel or its Dubious Competition would license someone to co-mingle the two companies books.
  10. Most comics of that era had a box on the front page warning not to buy this comic if it had been altered in any way or was coverless.
  11. I can post it later but if you go to the grading forum, I posted it yesterday.
  12. So these are unauthorized pirate editions, for lack of a better term. My only copy is slabbed and I don't want to break it out as it is unusual in itself, being a blue label that is missing a page.
  13. So the interiors are unsold copies of American comics? The insides are in color? Isn't that unusual for British comics of that time.
  14. That depends on what you consider confidence. I'm confident enough in their product that I will buy a blue label from a stranger. I don't use their services but that has more to do with lag time than anything else. Someone I consign with recommended I send in several slabs for reholdering and 25% of them had to be sent back so my confidence in their quality control is not very high. Long TATs and a 25% reholder rate have not inspired much confidence. Much of their marketing seems geared to collectors as interested in the labels as the books.
  15. Thanks to all. Since the prices have exceeded what I was looking for so my next auction will be 100% for charity. I'll have to select a book or two but at least one will be a Schomburg cover from the 40s. Not only does the winner get the book, but you get to make the donation and get the tax deduction. I will cover the shipping on this auction.
  16. I don't remember if it was all in 44 or some of it was told in flashback. I didn't read them in order, I read them as I got them on the secondary market, and I'm sure I didn't have all the SA books in my original collection. Some I read as reprints in MGCs. I think she was living in a cave and called Madame Medusa at first.
  17. She had lost her memory and was in hiding when Wizard found her and convinced her to join them. I think he came up with a way to keep her memories from coming back, but it is thirty years or more since I last read it.
  18. Actors haven't been working. Artist are still producing, aren't they? I'd imagine there are a lot of over-extended actors right now.
