  1. Thank you. I couldn't find much on the web and some seemed to contradict others.
  2. I don't get it. 5.0 Universal grade yet the label states 56th and 57th pages missing, and it affects the story, INCOMPLETE.
  3. Lots of questions, actually. When were these made? From what I understand, these are leftover copies that were bound together. If this is correct, does every copy of a title contain the same interiors or do they vary?
  4. Those Conan the King books are great reads. The series starts slow but really picks up momentum.
  5. I bought an Avengers 1 from MCS they graded a 2.0. CGC called it a 4.0. A TTA they called 3.5 came back a CGC 6.0
  6. So bid high and often. I'd love to be able to spend some of your money, after you win.
  7. The Copper Age is making less and less sense as time goes on. It's not even a full decade, and todays Modern era is pushing thirty years.
  8. I hated Ant-Man as an Avenger, but began to like him as Goliath. I thought his Yellowjacket days with the Defenders were great. Of the early Marvel heroes, he is by far the weakest and I imagine TTA 27 will continue to drop in rank as other books . I wouldn't be surprised if #44, the first Wasp, surpasses #27 eventually.
  9. I'm thinking 1.8. I'm waiting for someone to start marketing these yellow suit issues as prototypes and newbies to flock to them. There are nly about a dozen appearances of this suit.
  10. Today's offering is a fairly hard to come by copy of Mystery Comics #4, published in 1944 by the William Wise company(?) The books cover feaures the Golden Age Wonderman vs a bunch of grave robbing psudeo- klansmen. Not only does this book offer a classic Schomburg cover, but he is also credited with doing some of the interior art. By the way- if you thought Simon Williams had bad taste in costumes, check out his predecessor Brad Spencer. This Wonderman is not the Wonderman created by Will Eisner nor is he related to Marvels Wonderman. Last issue of the title, so it may well be the final time The Magnet, Lance Lewis, Zudo the Jungle Boy or The King of Futuria ever appear. Another kool thing about this book is it features an Assyrian tablet very much like the one featured in Spiderman books in the late 1960s. The book was bought from MyComicShop and was graded a 2.5 by them. I'd call it a 3.0 but won't quibble. cover is loose but attached centerfold is detached Hard to find any recent sales but a coverless copy is currently on eBay for about $160. Now for some legalese. NO Bad guys, no shipping outside of the US, paypal only, BIN is $573.27 Shipping is $10 but if the final hammer price is $175 or higher, I'll throw in free shipping. Auction ends Weds. at 10PM NYC time, or if there are last minute bids the auction will continue until there are no bids for three minutes. Photos to follow shortly. Thanks to all who look and bid.
  11. After a good day of comic hunting, you can relax and watch the river burn.
  12. That's because some damn tourist and his family rifled the inventory years ago.
  13. Step 1) Put together $30,000. Step 2) Buy $5,000 worth of a random characters first appearance. Step 3) Offer the writer of an upcoming movie $25,000 to sneak a couple of references to this obscure character into his --script. Rinse and repeat.
  14. A "rookie" supplement with low census numbers should be worth a small fortune in todays market.
  15. Nevada. It's the place to be. There are lots of opportunities in Nevada and Arizona.
  16. Loose lips sink ships. I've been auditioning a few new financial advisors and rather than get scoffed at when I mention my comic collection, the last two I spoke to asked some pointed questions about what I had and what my plans were. One of them mentioned how the auction houses were very attractive properties with the rise of premiums.
  17. Auction ends at 10PM NY time, roughly ninety minutes from now.
