Love those purple covers and the fisherman motif both of which helped to increase sales, I'm sure. Nice book, my friend.

Love that Flash Annual. I've had my copy for since the early 1990s. Great reprints of very early Flash stories. And great cover.
-
Holy Moley. Look at those colors on that book. Beautiful PQ and presents much better than the assigned grade. Congrats! One of the great DC books of all time.

It's been 60 YEARS!..show us your books from 1957!

I just love your DC 10-centers--especially that Action Comics 227. Very hard to find in that grade. 1957 is a tough year as most are long gone by now. I believe I have a copy that I bought back in the 1980s at San Diego Comic Con. I will have to find it and reread the stories. You have a great eye for books. Keep those DC books coming!! -

Certainly does now that you mention it. Is this a recent pickup. I don't remember seeing the book while visiting the Great State of Minnesota but then again it's been awhile. Also, I'm back on the boards. Hooray. You have a great eye for 10-cent DCs. Try to find some more of those World's Finest Comics--one of my favorite DC titles. -
Beautiful copy. Congrats!!

Love your Flash books. The Flash Annual is one of my favorite DC Annuals and one of the most difficult to find. IMHO it's a very underrated issues. I've had a raw copy since the 1980s and I prefer to keep it way to read the great stories all collected in a single annual. Congrats!!s

One of the great WWII covers. Been looking for a copy in that grade for quite some time. Congrats! -
Those are some pretty strong words, there, pardner! I'm gonna hit up those places in LA just to see if you're right, but I'm a skeptic by nature. There's quite a high bar that's been set by Filippi's. Nonetheless, I'll be as objective as possible. Where are these establishments? [/quote Vito's pizza is located at 846 La Cienega Blvd in Los Angeles. It's Just south of Santa Monica Blvd on the east side of the street in a strip mall. Tomato Pie is located at 7751 Melrose Ave in Los Angeles. I prefer Vito's; I've been eating there for years. Vito's was originally located across the street from LACC on Vermont Ave and Vito moved to his current location many years ago. Anytime you want to meet me there, Mick, just LMK. We can bring a few War Books BTW--Vito's is a hole in the wall. There are a few indoor tables so it's best to meet before the lunch rush or after the lunch rush. A Saturday afternoon would be great as I have season seats to my beloved LA Rams during the football season so Sundays are out. Steve

1) Try the pizza at either Tomato Pie or Vitto's Pizzeria in Los Angeles, It is so much better. 2) I don't understand why someone would crack open the slab of that OAAW 83. Having said all that I wish I was there but I'm gonna try like heck to get a badge and room next year. I don't know how you guys do it. Last two years I've tried and tried to no avail. Steve

Green lantern rules! Ya got that right. I love Green Lantern--the entire run--especially 1-70. Great storylines and artwork. Great Rogues Gallery, too!

What's new in your Silver Age collection this week
Stevenrams replied to Silver's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Nice copies Rob Beautiful books, my friend--especially the Spiderman 50. That has always been my favorite Spider-man cover of all time. Congrats!! -
Ten bucks for a 12-cent comic about a stupid monster. Someone got ripped off. Nice score. I've had that book since the day I saw it at Food Giant where my mom used to do her marketing. She bought it for me as she was shaking her head and telling me I should be reading "Pride and Prejudice" her favorite novel of all time.

I'll check it out over at Amazon. Thanks. I'm certain though many collectors subscribe to the GPA that lists FMV. Thanks in advance. Steve

Sounds like a great time, Andy. I would have loved to have been there but I couldn't secure a badge when they went on sale via the Con's online website. I keep trying to no avail. I'll try again next year. By the way I have a beautiful copy of Our Army at War 83 that I'm considering offering for sale. The grade is 6.5 with OW/W PQ and it is slabbed by the good folks at CGC. I need to know the FMV of the book though before I offer it for sale. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Steve

Classic Raboy! Agreed. Wonderful book. Presents very well for the grade. That cover is one of Raboy's best. -

They look more like Siamese Twins, Jeff. Great copies. -
Never seen or heard of that title but they're awfully nice-looking books that's for sure. Congrats on completing the set. This copy is probably only a 5.0-6.0 (I think) but I didn't pay much for it when I bought it about five or six years ago. I love reading it. Great art and storyline. I didn't see the last few Superman (or Batman) movies as I don't like Superhero movies at all. But I did see the 1970s Superman movies and Zod and the Phantom Zone are featured prominently in those movies.

Yes, you're most definitely right. I have seen a number of DT 3s but very few "It's Game Time 1s 2s 3s or 4s. in decent shape. I think Sparkle City had issue 4 of It's Game Time in 8.0 and they wanted three or four grand at the time. I missed out on a nice copy of a raw #3 of It's Game Time. I regret not keeping the bidding going. This was about 10 years ago and I've never run across another nice copy since. Also, the dealer from whom I bought my raw copy of It's Game Time 1 has since been banned from the hobby and I believe charges were brought against him for doctoring books. Believe me I was crossing my fingers waiting for my copy to come back from CGC. As you can see I was very fortunate. BTW, his initials are JE and he was always fair with his prices, his dealings, and transactions. Who da thunk it?

Since the 1980s. The book doesn't show up very often in HG or even a nice mid-grade copy with nice PQ. Thanks for the comment, Dan and give my regards to Doreen and the family. Steve

I have one lower grade than yours missing centerfold i think. Great job yours looks nice ][/img] My copy has pencil marks on the cover but the interior is in good shape. I think I turned the contrast up too high. It doesn't look tan when mixed with other books. Love your copy of Superman 6. I believe the writers/artists/editors were still trying to figure out the shape of the "S". It looks different on issue 6 compared issue 9 and that's just a few months later (or 6 months). Anyway, congrats on the pickup. I'm still saving for one but I can enjoy yours in the meantime.
