  1. Really-and I mean really-nice copy of the Holy Grail of the DC War Books. Colors really stand out; they're sharp and vivid. Congrats.
  2. Here's my only file copy. Has nice PQ. Later issues of the title are hard to find from my experience.
  3. Billy, that presents phenomenally well (especially for a black cover!) frontally for a 6.0. I've never seen a a more beautiful CGC 6.0 than your copy. Congrats!! One of the great GA comics.
  4. In terms of colors and cover art that is my favorite Adventure Comic of them all. Beautiful copy!
  5. Dang, that's some cover. DC management sure did the right thing by having Heath and Adler work their cover magic on the Sea Devils title.
  6. Heck, that is one fantastic HOM 205. Don't tell me that Sparling isn't a heckuva cover artist. Love the book--and white Pages, too. Love DC Mystery titles of the Bronze Age.
  7. Here's a tough issue. All eight issues of the title are listed as Scarce in the current OSPG. Bought this from one of the nicest board members out there: Sharon. She knows a great deal about color schemes, perspective and all those other artistic techniques of which I know nothing. Her prices are fair and reasonable at all times. She's one heck of a human being and I hope to meet her some day: Legends of Daniel Boone 6 cover dated June of 1956 with Nick Cardy cover art: Here's another toughie in grade: Sugar and Spike 5. It's cover dated December of 1956/January 1957 so I guess that still counts as a 1956 book. Bought it at Wonder-Con last year. Paid just a bit over guide but even though Harley charges a lot for his books he was more reasonable on this book. I attended the show on Sunday only and Harely had just gotten the book in and really hadn't had time to price or even grade the book so we spent some time together with a good collector friend of mine doing both. All I know it's got beautiful PQ. Last one for today: Detective Comics 237 cover dated November of 1956. Includes great backup strips: Roy Raymond--TV Detective (TV shows were only about 7 or eight years old in 1956) and of course an early John Jones (J'onn J'onzz) Manhunter from Mars. Bought at Cherokee Books in Hollywood circa 1967 and don't even ask how the book after all these years is in great condition 'cause I have no idea.)
  8. One of the few comics--maybe the only one as far as I know--devoted to the entire year: Action Comics 212 cover dated Jan. 1956
  9. Found a box of 1950s books--not all in HG but even the LG copies have nice colors and I enjoy reading them. Anyway here's one cover dated Feb. 1956 with real nice PQ as well Purchased from a board member and good friend a few years back: House of Mystery 46:
  10. Beautiful copy, Dale. That's a great-looking F- copy. Thanks for sharing. Thanks Steve. It's one of my favorite Superman covers. Yes, I can't imagine there were too many "girl cops" in Metropolis or any other large city in the US. And those that did join the force helped to pave the way.
  11. That is a great copy, Dale. I didn't know you had that book. Rarely seen especially in such a nice grade. My next project for 2016 is to pry the book from you. Gotta get you to sell that book to me. Hey my last project for 2016 succeeded: Bringing the Rams back to Los Angeles. I don't accept failure. Fantastic book!
  12. Here is Mystery in Space 71 cover dated December of 1961. It is the first 12-center of the title and I love owning the big-box 12-cent DC books. But what I really love about this book are colors. Excellent color contrast that blend so well. Notice the light blue sky and the vivid greens at the bottom. The light yellow of the logo is also blends with the rest of the book. One of my favorite DC books: PS--Couldn't quite capture the colors but believe the colors on this book jump off the page.
  13. Cover dated April 1956 Hopalong Cassidy 112: And it's a 1956 double cover!
  14. Back from CGC though not real new to the collection Purchased maybe three or four years ago. Neal Adams front and back covers:
  15. Impressive books, my friend. Neal Adams' covers, Frank Robbins stories and Bat-Girl Back-up features. Congrats. Excellent acquisitions.
  16. And let's not forget her boyfriend Comet. These stories can be filed under forbidden romances I guess: I Love Ya But You're Strange - Brian Cronin Supergirl Made Out with Her Horse? - Comic Vine Great copy, my friend. One of my favorite Actions. And love your comments about the cover, too. Comet, definitely one of the more wacky and out-there silver age concepts. You think there would have been a more straightforward way to introduce a superhorse...but then it definitely wouldn't have been as fun in hindsight. Anyways, here's my favorite Comet cover. It's got it all...Comet, the fortress, a stern Supergirl, a bewildered Superman, sexist comments!!
